      Hey there Sarah, a Rexcellent listener, love that and so does Rex! 🐶❤ We deliver anything that goes in to a tipper body! Here it is lime, but aggregates, stone, dust, sand, gravels, specialised aggregates and coloured stones from both Holland and Italy, collected from the docks on either the Mersey or the Humber, bulk fertilizer and soils as well as agricultural needs of aggregates and animal bedding supplies. Special coloured stone and slate come from all over the mainland UK for domestic deliveries again covering the whole of mainland UK including both Scotland and Wales. Not for me those long distance jobs as these days I am just a day driver but some of the other drivers, like Malc in this video have been to Kent last week. Others recently have been to Cornwall and all along the south coast. Have a great week Sarah.

Don't know many that kept doing it for that long, most have to have a change before that or at least a break from it, before realising they miss the life and money! There is the old adage though "to each their own!" What suits one may not suit another. I've always liked to be home at night myself although have done many nights driving in the past but none now since 2020, and no I don't miss it either. Have a great week Helen.

    Well done. 👍🏼👍🏼 Unlike many of the clowns shown here!
    1:09 The driver of that Turner van wouldn't be too impressed. It looks like Rex chewed the front of his van! The mess from this crash reminded me of a TV commercial here many years ago for Stainmaster Carpet. A local artist, Pro Hart, had "painted" a dragonfly, using foods of all kinds for his medium, said carpet being his canvas. The cleaner would come in to clean up, yelling: "Oh, Mr Hart, what a mess!" The things you remember... 🤣🤣🤣 And yes! She did clean that carpet! 🤣🤣
    1:55 That's a mixed bag of reactions! 🤣🤣 Word has it, the woman outside the bakery is still waiting... She's a real slow burn, that one. 🤣🤣
    21:35 "There you go. Now you can shut your holes" 👍🏼👍🏼🤣🤣🤣

    • @cloudmaker
      @cloudmaker  2 месяца назад +1

      Hello Kevin what a strange memory to trigger, carpet cleaner! Not Tony Hart by any chance? As I think he was shown over there, early 70's -80's ish. Apparently that crash was due to the little hatchback pulling out the road on the right without stopping, sending trailer sideways into van then out of control. Big mess for one second of inattention. Shut your holes quote and video clip was well overdue as lots of bus nuts got upset with me telling me that a bus based on a 7.5 tonne chassis could not get around that corner on their own side as it's too big! Of course I knew that was bollocks as I've seen buses bigger than that take that corner quite easily. This same corner holds bad memories for another driver on this fleet now, as one day as he was coming up, another 8 wheeler tipper was going down much too fast, hit brakes and locked up and ploughed straight into his cab almost knocking him over the wall. Luckily no serious injuries. All the best Kevin.

      @@cloudmaker Not likely. Kevin Charles "Pro" Hart MBE (1976) was born in Broken Hill. He's a well known artist here & around the world. The "Pro" came about from being an inventor. He was a collector of old cars, bikes & odd machinery. He died in 2006 from MND related issues. Wikipedia claims his was the first NSW State funeral held west of the Blue Mountains. (It's actually the second. The first was Anthony Michael McGrane MP OAM on September 20, 2004 in Dubbo)
      His gallery has some crazy artworks, including a Rolls Royce, covered in his work. Sacrilege, some will say! 🤣🤣 We make a point of dropping in ever time we go to or pass through Broken Hill, along with some other great places.
      I'm still laughing at the "shut your holes"! 🤣🤣 I'm not surprised to hear some have no spatial awareness. Makes you wonder how they get around in town with heavy traffic all around them. I could imagine that corner being taken too fast, with nasty outcomes.

    How's it going mate, If thing's carry on with Rex with his popularity he will be taking over your you tube channel. That idiot in the orange tipper cutting you up turning right in the left hand lane at that junction, he should have his HGV licence taken from him just selfish driving. Those two double decker buses having a chat while they clog up the road and it looks like you were going up hill, but see what happen when you hold a bus it's alright for them they think they own the road. That' s another thing that annoys me when you let some through and no thanks ( 4.58 ) Matlock Bath, where is it, looks a nice place, looks like every thing is on the main road ,reminds me of Betws-y-Coed on the A5. A few weeks back the wife and me followed a few on a single track road with passing places for more than ten minutes, every time we got to a passing place they'd move out into the road to stop us getting by even uphill. • @cloudmaker
      @cloudmaker  2 месяца назад +1

      Hello Norm, I noticed you had a similar one with Westfields. The field deliveries are Lime and it is used to raise the ph. level of the soil. ruclips.net/video/8dhXzlGRLi0/видео.html just a glimpse of it being used. If the soil ph. level is too low then some crops don't do so well and if using fertiliser it reacts much better with the correct ph. level. Most crops need a ph. level of around 7-7.5. Some crops like potatoes need a much lower level so on a rotational cropping farm a heavy dose of lime would be needed after potatoes to be able to plant wheat or barley for instance. I really enjoyed my time as a spreader driver, followed in Dads footsteps as he started on ex American forces trucks converted to spreaders in late 50's early 60's. There was several fleets of them close to us before they moved to Dodge and Bedford trucks. Take care Norm.
