A quick update! As of 10/19/2022, Bear In The Big Blue House is officially available for streaming on Disney+ There are still 9 episodes missing from its catalog, but this is still the biggest release of Bear In The Big Blue House episodes for streaming in HISTORY! Very exciting : )
Those nine missing episodes might be added down the road. Bear in the Big Blue House doesn't have The Muppet Show's excuse of copyrighted music issues for the missing Brooke Shields episode or some parts of other episodes. As far as I know, all the songs from Bear in the Big Blue House were written specifically for the show. They also don't have the excuse of not being able to remaster all the episodes, because all 65 episodes of PB&J Otter, released on Disney+ the same day, are restored and remastered.
I'm so happy. Hopefully eventually disney + will do a small 1 or 2 season spinoff series or just return with season 5. Law and order returned after 10 years, why can't bear
For being someone who doesn't know much about this show, you explain things so well I could easily follow. I also love how much energy you have in your voice! It's nice to find people who have genuine interest in the topics they talk about and show it. You really deserve more recognition!
Now that your analysis has made me remember that show, I find myself trying to be as warm as Bear when I'm in front of my class. Who would have known that Bear was going to unconsciously inspire me to be that kind of teacher?
My sister and I are both neurodivergent and this was one of our favorite shows growing up even when it was too young for us. We’ve been introducing this to my nephew and he loves the songs 🥰. So happy to see this video!
I feel like the closest thing we have to Bear in the Big Blue House in 2021 is Bluey. Super healthy family dynamics with characters you love to love 💜🌸😊
despite having grown up in the playhouse disney generation, i do have very few memories regarding bear in the big blue house, but hearing the clips of his voice made me realize i did still have that little part of my childhood with me. the show sort of reminds me of sprout which i just remember as being very calming especially around bed time because there was the star with nina. however, once you brought up the stage show i totally remembered seeing the show in the parks at a very VERY young age (around when my baby sis was an infant) and recently we found videos of the performances when we converted our home videos to digital files. i definitely do want to go back and revisit them now.
Love the analysis. As someone on the spectrum, Bear in the Big Blue House was a huge comfort show for me growing up alongside Blues Clues and Little Bear. Heck, I still watch these shows from time to time even as an adult in their late 20’s. Looking forward to seeing more of your content c:
i watched BITBBH on dvds my mom got me when i was young and the show is such a comforting sight for me and i tear up watching it now. it was a major highlight of my childhood. i will never forget it.
I didn't realize how happy I'd be to find someone else who grew up in the big blue house. I watched the dvds and vhs tapes on loop for far longer than any other show I remember keeping up with. And I'm so happy that someone else had great memories with bear like I did. Thank you so much for making my day a little brighter
I was born on July 5th 2008 in Exeter Devon UK and I remember watching Bear in the Blue House as a baby in 2008, which means Bear aired for a little longer here in the UK! And I'm 13.
I grew up with the French version of this, its so weird to hear the songs in English! As a neurodivergent child I absolutely adored it. My favourite character was Pistache (Treelo).
Love this show so much, I have a very special connection to the goodbye song as when I was in high school my theatre friends and I would blast the song on our way home from cast parties. Still makes me teary eyed to this day. Awesome video!
my absolute favorite show as a child. i hadn’t ever thought about how my growing up with an anxiety disorder might have been aided by this show! my dream job would be to make something like this for kids now, so they could feel the same way i did when i saw these kinds of shows at their age. safe and understood :)
Gosh, me and my brother were really into this show. We had episodes on VHS and even cassettes that we would listen to when we were far away from home (like visiting relatives) as a way of comfort. Your beautiful essay on it made me want to revisit it for nostalgia, I think it'll be a good time
also the joy you get from revisiting this is something i would say is very similar to when i revisited little einsteins recently after i got my wisdom teeth out (my little sister even took a video of me being very excited during the theme song while being on so much pain medicine so good times)
This video was absolutely lovely. This show has always meant so much to me. *HOWEVER* this show is also responsible for the first recurring nightmare I ever had because I did not overcome the fear of the dark I had because of THE DOG IN THE SHADOW PROJECTS LOGO until I WAS *SEVEN*
9:18 well to be honest that was done because the 3 recurring puppets with 2 performer's were voiced by celebrities. And sadly celebrities don't do puppetry. Infact it's currently a thing for the fraggle rock reboot (one of the reasons besides the celebrity thing is because since dave golez is needed in America for gonzo he can't go to Canada) and was a thing for the book of pooh because for some reason voice actors also don't do puppetry. But to be fair the voice actors in book of pooh had other roles too so they wouldn't have time for the puppet part of doing the show.
I love Bear he is my childhood hero I still have some DVDs I even wrote a story that had me living with bear and hanged out with the gang I used To Watch Bear heaps at my nans house as a kid and when she sadly passed of cancer in 2018 and Bear helped me heaps with her passing And he even had liked some of my TikToks and had posted two on his Instagram story and one on his Twitter and that really Ment the world to me I’ve always wanted to meet him and interview him and tell him how much he helped me And I love visiting the big blue house still to this day And I agree it should be on Disney + I also had a toy big blue house a plush of the characters and a bear in the big blue house plate that had everyone outside the house and ray and Luna where next to a rainbow I thank you for this video
i wish i'd watched this more as a kid. it was magical. instead i decided to get traumatized by the hundred acre wood and all the bees in it. I really cannot understand how Bear is not on Disney Plus. especially considering that Disney purchased the rights to it. Thank you for making this love letter to an iconic part of any child of the 90s/early thousands. i loved Bear, the moon and the big blue house. i find it interesting that i have aspergers, but didn't get obsessed with the show in the same way. however if they did a big DVD release or disney plus release, i would now.
I loved Bear and the Big Blue House growing up that I went in my backyard and sang the Goodbye song looking up at the moon. I don't remember when I did this per se. If I ever had kids in the future, I might show them this program.
would you ever consider doing a video on Between the Lions? because that show was my absolute jam as a kid also you should do a video explaining why Netflix's Dark Crystal deserves another season
LOVED this video! I have only a few memories of watching this show as a kid but it was nice to revisit it. As always, super interesting topic done more than justice by your super interesting summary and take on it!
I absolutely love this video- and I’m excited for more deep dives! Can’t wait for more! ALSo Could you make something on Between The Lions?? For me…that was my bear in the big blue house, everyday or even in the mornings before or after school my whole family would watch it. It was special for us.
I feel so lucky that I got to enjoy this show growing up. It gave me some of the most wholesome memories of my childhood. I remember vividly that Bear in the big blue house was showcased at 7 am on Saturdays on channel 13 in the Dominican Republic. I was around 6 years old when it took place back in 2001. I watched it today on Disney+ and I teared up from the nostalgia it gives me ❤
I’m so happy that it’s now on Disney Plus because I enjoyed watching it with my daughter and now I get to watch it with my granddaughter too. She asks for Bear every morning when she wakes up.
I loved Bear in the big blue house as a kid. I still have a Trilo plushie. The show aired alot longer in my country ( I think I catched an episode by chance just three years ago).

What is the matter with the Disney+ people? It’s called sharing, why can’t the Disney+ people put bear and the big blue house on there streaming services, and breakfast with bear and the lost episodes, they should also put the shows on Disney+ that I remember when I was a kid like welcome to Pooh corner, good morning Mickey, Dumbo circus and Mousercise.

I still watch it now even though I am 18
I like to sings the goodbye song as a duet with myself. Cause I can.

I miss shows like this. Kid shows are so loud and overstimulating nowadays, and the ones that aren’t are just really boring.
My childhood was filled with BITBBH
I sometimes still call it blig blue house
You might want to check Disney+ now

Why don’t you do a video on the puzzle place? That’s another show that cared about what the audience wanted.
