Would love to see some ideas for churches that have a lot of windows. We have a lot of natural light because of a skylight and side windows (which is great on saving energy). We also have white walls and a high wood-beam ceiling, so painting everything black isn't really an option.
Pro Church Tools with Brady Shearer Hi, we too have tons of windows. would you suggest black paint for those of us with brown skin? Also we don’t have a major budget for stage lights at the moment...
Got any tips for churches that have a high level of ambient light? Our church has somewhere around 40 large windows and blacking them all out would be expensive (not to mention unpopular with the congregation). So those lighting ideas wouldn't work too well.
Right there with you! These lights are fine and fancy. But what about stage design with sunlight spilling in all day? Do we all just stick with some use of wood?
@@DisneyGator In my mind, one of the main benefits of a dark room or blacked out stage is that it gives you a blank canvas for a low cost. When you have a bright sanctuary though - while natural light is beautiful - every corner of the room is visible and so every element needs to be considered. In these cases, I usually recommend working with a designer.
use foam board insulation.cut to fit, tape the edges to keep from breaking or shredding the edges and paint it to match. it easily blacks out light and is easily removable when ambient light is needed for different (more traditional services)
Wow, somebody have gave me some white LED tape actually from a church food pantry that no one wanted oh, I actually took it home I put it around the track of my mirrored wall and it looks awesome, it also made me think to go on Amazon and order some for my church and go around the columns in our sanctuary and drum Shield
What suggestions do you have for churches that have a lot of natural light in the day? These seems to all be churches that are totally inside and dark- what about a church where it is well lit by natural light in the day
Thank you, we are a new couple to a small church and no one has done a bulletin before, only I'm not sure how to downloard the template. I didn't see anything to click on.
My small church has a lot of natural light coming in through windows, we are not a church that blacks out the sanctuary, are there any ideas for us, even on a low budget?

We are a smaller (approx. 125) church that can seat about 250-275 and has big windows that have blackout screens so that part isn't a real problem for us. However, we have all white walls and a lot of our people (the ones who are little more vocal) don't like a dark room. I even have a couple of people on the Worship Team who like to see the people in the congregation. Is there any type of designs we can do that don't require the entire room to be quite as dark as usually preferred?
My church is about the same as yours, our Sanctuary can hold about 250 but we have about 120. It was an old Sanctuary that we spruced up a little bit. Maroon carpet, wooden pews with mauve colored padding and white walls with four big can chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. We have mauve and white colored stained glass windows, only four of them but they are only on the left side. So what I did during a concert that we had was Buy 6 colored LED lights and 2 par cans and have 4 lighting up the front wall on each side of the platform and two in the middle highlighting the drum set which is in the center of our platform stage and one small one highlighting the front of our glass podium that makes our logo on the front of the podium look like it's glowing. The Bishop and his wife we're amazed and said that it looks like a different sanctuary, I didn't change anything else except the placement of the microphones because I know how some folks are not acceptable to a lot of change but they love the new look. We recently added 2 News 75 in TV monitors on each side of the platform up on the wall since our old projector that used to shine on the wall in the middle burnt out. And I would just make the lights the same color as the logo on the TV screens. It looked awesome.
The opening of this video from 0-1:30 is exactly what’s wrong with church these days, they said it it’s not about stage design or outdated design in general, that stuff isn’t all that important. I need to and I’d advise other church leaders to find that poll that they were talking about and find out the real reason why millennials aren’t attending church.
I have a question what if your church stage and church building is more Anglican looking and is more traditional and bright lights are essential in my church
I'd like to get the LED strips with DMX on the ends so I can add them to the light board. I'd rather not use a dimmer pack. Any one have any recommendations on LED Strips with DMX? Or at least a converter/adapter/driver for DMX?

What does this do to glorify God? I'm trying to understand how these stages at church that resemble electronic music event stages have anything to do with why we are at church in the first place.

i like that you were grounded and showed that it is not the most important..awesome
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the approach!

This could still be a great solution. Swap out black paint for white!
Same here. Ideas for a traditional old school church with large Windows would be so appreciated m

This! Because we got a skylight that runs all the way across the sanctuary and top side and big picture stained glass windows
Thank you guys so much! Sometimes things feel so complex and this helped ease my anxieties a bit.
Awesome to see Praise Church on this list! I helped to build this stage design! That's me on acoustic in the pictures.

Our church has this exact problem. We didn't go with a blackout stage because of it. You could still incorporate these fixtures into a youth room!

Great info... Thank you, and God Bless....
Thanks for watching, Michael!
I think a lot of these design need darkness to show the lights - We have 10:00 service and it has a lot of daylight in the building...
awesome ideas
Thanks for watching!

😬 The algorithms are crazy! Haha!
We know this is old when we say they are about $5.00
I don't like disco churches
