Yea but also a big part of that head to head us Venus played henin 7-8 x Bewteen 2001-2002 era.. @@marfu1119 that is a very sensible realistic answer.. instead .. it doesn’t matter what anyone says 2001-2002 henin was not at her best .. an it was clear Venus was much more in vogue at that time.. when I usually say that I get all the screamers …
@@justineandserena what it disqualifies is that they are basically the same age but Henin had to wait for years to be at her peak or were the Sisters declining?
I think serena and venus had some admiration towards henin serena in particular they always spoke a little more to henin at the net after the match even if they loose to her early in their careers the seldom did to other player's when they loose
Venus vs Serena question: Is Venus an aggressive counter puncher compared to Serena an offensive baseliner… I frequently feel Venus relied frequently on her movement, whilst Serena is equally a good mover, her mentality towards the game, e.g. ultra aggressive, on serve, return, using angles made her a superior player. Can someone tell me there opinion.
I feel the same way Venus did rely on her movement, but I also feel like she made countless errors that left her no other choice. The Venus is one of the best grass Court players and she's a very good all around player in doubles and mixed and has an amazing net play as seen in her doubles especially with her sister. But I feel like the biggest difference between them is overall Serena's consistency and of course her illness. Also, surprisingly I've seen that with the Williams sisters Venus is more solid at the net and she really does carry the team. I realize that whenever Venus can't pick up Serena slack which happens often especially whenever she's at the net that's when they lose. And despite what most people may think, Venus makes considerably less errors whenever she plays doubles for the most part.
I think actually after 2003 Venus was pure aggression and Serena was actually somewhat more defensive (other than her serve). Venus at her peak was very good at staying steady at the baseline. Watch for example her matches against Hingis and Capriati at the US Open in 2000 and 2001 respectively. Of course she had that BH down the line she could pull out of nowhere. Watch Serena on a tight down point - she might go for a big return but other than that kind of goes into no miss mode in the rallies and is often how she made many great comebacks - the opponent just couldn’t get the ball past her. Venus post 2003 was just too erratic and could have done with just pure consistency for example in all those tight matches she lost in the US Open 2005-2010.
Venus could make a 100 unforced errors in one match which for the life of me, I couldn’t understand. Even though I think Venus on their best days is the better player (technique wise), Serena’s consistency and mental strength gives her the edge.
Henin really should have won this title (I mean in her career). She choked both in the 06 final and in the 07 SF against Bartoli. 2007 was the year, she was playing unbelievable
No Henin didn't choke in 06 final and 07 SF. Henin said her self that in the 2006 final she couldn't of played any better. She lost to great grass court players Mauresmo and Bartoli. She lost of Bartoli in 2007, Bartoli went on to win the title in 2013. Shows her win against Henin 6 years before was no fluke
@@marfu1119 i disagree ..henin could have served better in her loss to mauresmo in 2006, an also made less forehand errors in 2006 in that final.. the difference in that final was mauresmo better severing an slightly better volleying.. although both were volleying very well ., but mauresmo also held her nerve better The 2007 semi loss to Bartoli .. henin was clearly leading an admitted she was nervous to face Venus an ultimately lost control of that match..
@@rolinti9146 no not necessarily I think 2007 winning Wimbledon for henin was a do able thing.. just not enough belief an focus to win that slam.. she had the skill set to win it
The silence and looks of the majority of the crowd can tell you what's in their heads...great work Venus, you showed them!
Was just going to comment this. Way too obvious who they were cheering for. What was the reason?
