Dougie lost credibility when he said Ampadu has a higher ceiling than Barrenechea. Are you kidding me? Watched Ampadu throughout his career. He can barely dribble anyone. He’s an athlete, no football skills. A glorified Jay spearing.
I’m going to make a wild call… I think Illing Jnr will be converted to play on the RW as Bailey back up… when you see him play he loves to use his left, and has the ability to take people on. I could see him cutting in on his left similar to Bailey… -I could be very wrong of course!!! 😂

We could still sign a right back, for say £20m, and amortize it over 5 years. The important thing was creating that headroom. I too will be extremely sad if we don't sign a RB this summer!
I’d be amazed if we don’t address the defensive side as this was our Achilles heal last season, a tall centre back to deal with our weakness from crosses and set pieces I’m guessing will come in.
Dougie was quite negative and clearly hasn’t really watched villa and forgets who we have in as our manager he gets the best out of the young players looking at rodgers Dougie probably would of said when we signed him he would only play a cuple of games look how Emery turned him into an impressive player
