Making an Awl out of scrap

I've wanted an Awl in the shop for a while, so let's just make one out of scrap that I can find lying around. It was a simple, fun project, improving on my lath skills which need a lot of improving on.

did you sharpen this likeba scratch awl or a diamond awl?

Sharpened like a scratch awl to a flat sided point.
