- How to make an awl: A Useful Pointy Thing from a pointless Imperial tool!
Ooooo... Metric Vs. Imperial. It's a debate that will never end. How did you like the click-batey title?
Well... I needed an awl, but I'm cheap, so I took a imperial hex key that I'm never likely to need, and made it into something that I do. I also make a holder for it from scrap leather to hold it handily in my DTC.

useless things lying around in the shop drive me nuts like tea cups and biscuit ! I reach for a hammer and I tip over a pile of biscuits or I need to get into a box but I cant because of the stacks of tea cups on it !

Yup. It's got a convenient home just inside the lid of the toolbox. Some simple, so useful is this this little thing.
