  • Alot of activity going on here re earthworks..moving chalk/top soil and everything in between....the area is due to reopen in 2026.
    Also scaling back ...the slurry treatment plant has been removed, tunnel segment factory closed, the viaduct precast factory is due to finish production soon.
    The ‘Wrstern Slopes’ is an area between the Chiltern tunnel south portal and the Colne valley viaduct.

    No frames outside the viaduct factory means they must have already cast the final segment . This is, indeed, a cause for celebration +Fires off a party popper and takes a glug of cheap cider+

    Great video. With the completion of the tunnelling, the slurry plant has been demolished and work should be underway on the tunnel lining factory and storage area. Last to go will be the viaduct sections factory.
    The whole site is now being landscaped and, on completion, it will be more of a natural landscape than before as an old quarry has been filled in with the tunnel spoil.
