- Two weeks on and progress update - the launching girder 'Dominique' now clearly off the viaduct -resting on its landing area.
Dismantling is now taking place after the final viaduct segment was fixed into place on 5th September 2024. It appears there are numerous containters ready to take the launching girder apparatus away perhaps..

It will be good to see all the worksite debris cleared away and the land restored to its previous condition, then the viaduct will look beautiful.
Great to see what is going on, the leg's removed, I can't see how they are going to fit into a standard container??... but It looks like we will just have to watch and see....
Thanks....
Looks like it will be unbolted into 3 or 4 sections and transported out on 2 or 3 low loaders.
Nice one, QM 👍 I see your personal microclimate has followed you to Harvil Road once again! Blimey, doesn't this late September light make everything look even more beautiful?
As Steve alluded to, Dominique's massive Dr. Martens aren't going anywhere soon without some drastic 'tinkering'. Still, Mr. Walker 'wrote' the 'Hayes' manual for this particular model so knows in which order all the thingamabobs have to come off.
I haven't delved particularly deeply but does anyone know of footage showing Sir Dom being bolted together in 2022 at the other end of the viaduct? Apart from official HS2 videos that is - those are sort of 'blink and you miss it' offerings.
Yeah that damn light again causing the annoying flickering .. ah what to do.? But seriously i hope Dominique hangs around a little while longer for a few more videos!!. :) that she doesn’t call International Rescue anytime soon to be air lifted out of the UK by Thunderbird no 2. 👍
@@stevetony6876might be the shutter speed giving the flickering effect
I wonder if it will be anything like trying to get your christmas tree back in the box it came from the shop in.....?
I have no idea how it’ll be dismantled.. but hopefully there’s some instructions to follow!! Thanks for watching. 👍
I think that before the track and OHL gangs arrive they should offer tickets at £10 a go for people to drive over or set up open top bus trips along it at £5 a throw and give the money to local charities.
The curve looks terrific and when the build sites have gone it will really come into its own.
What a great idea! I’d even stretch to £10. It would be a great news story/good PR for HS2 (assuming the bus driver does a good job and gets everyone to the other side in one piece) …that there are folk around that still believe the project will deliver benefits …of sorts!👍
