Thanks for the summary. Also, if you paste the chapters in the video description in a certain way, RUclips should chapterize it automatically for you right on the video timeline. I have a video configured in this way: ruclips.net/video/qLADrQibOeQ/видео.html
Digitech PDS-1550 is my favorite I've used so far. Put it into the Boss HM-2 clone mode and use the parametric EQ at minimum bandwidth and maximum boost alongside the 303's own resonance to get all kinds of formant type sounds. Plus it has a dry through so you can use two mixer channels and blend the clean 303 sound with the distorted one.
Tube screamer is my go to. Little bit of a midrange bump and some squishiness. Doesn't change the character of the sound too much, just makes it a hell of a lot thicker/compressed and more interesting. Doesn't kill the bass like a lot of distortions tend to do.
Very interesting! Now all I need is a 303 (good thing behringer exists). You might want to cut out the pedal swaps to speed up the video a bit. RUclips is all about continuous entertainment :)

That is a good point, it did it on my other videos, but not these. I think you have to start from zero on the time tags. Will update soon, thanks!
Loving this video and that British enthusiasm. Brilliant vid!
Happy you enjoyed Matthew :)
You're a hero for doing this.
Thanks Petrol! It took ages, but I felt it needed to be done :)
mega efforts ❤ dont forget the ultra cheap Bangyang Metal end 👍 Biyang Tonefancier , like mushrooms you may like this one.
good tip, will try and track one down

Ol' Zircon I hadn’t heard of the PDS-1550 until now. It looks really good :) nice tip!
Though I am late to the party: nice comparison and exactly what I have been looking for to make a decision on what to get for a good 303 sound.
You’re welcome :)
boring? nooo just keep them coming!!!
😃😃
My mans really made a whole 303 pedal video without even MENTIONING the Rat.
It appears in a later video in the series :)
Thank you!

I like the Tube Screamer on a Strat, but I’m less keen for other guitars or the 303. But I’m pleased it works for you!
Boss Heavy Metal (7:46), Dual Overdrive (12:05), and OS-2 (17:41) were the coolest.
I agree! These were good sounding pedals :)
Amazing series! Have you ever thought about running the 303 through all 60 pedals at once?
That would be epic :) :)
My favorite overall is the Boss Turbo Overdrive. Second place would be a tie between the Boss OS-2 and the Boss Digital Metalizer.
That’s Boss Turbo overdrive is really good on guitar too. Plus I love the name :)
In fact I like all your top three!

Synths and Sounds thanks for the feedback! :) Behringer make pedal clones too... I hate editing so anything to avoid it :)
There will be 6 of these videos in the end.. I knew already they could be a bit boring ;)
no it's not.
The best sounding and most used Distortion for the 303 is the ProCo RAT.
I guess that is quite subjective.. but I tried a RAT in another video in the series and it sounded fantastic!
Rat 2 and Boss DS-1 are my favs for 303.
I’ve never tried a Rat 2 or a Boss DS-1 on a 303. I tested a Rat clone and a DS-2 on some other videos though. So many pedals, so little time!
@@gwEmbassy the DS-1 just exudes the Pump Panel 303 sound... and Rat/Rat 2 is the sound of Hardfloor.
The MXR is more ubiquitous
Which model was the boss digital metalizer? Thanks for the vids!
It’s the MZ-2 : bossarea.com/boss-mz-2-metalizer/
hm2 wazacraft is here!
Wow! Thanks for this great information :) Finally!
Depending on the clone , pedals hit and miss . Biyang xdrive best low cost
This is very true Duke! Thanks for the comment.
os2
Yeah, it’s the daddy right? Thanks for watching!!
my tb303 has a nasty background whinning noise that becomes far too loud when using volume gain pedals and distortion, any suggestions?
Yes, mine does a bit too. I use a noise gate.
@@gwEmbassy have you tried using different power supplies?
No, would be interesting. Normally I run the 303 off batteries
what mixer is that?
it’s a Mackie 802 vlz3
