I've been doing a lot of live sessions in the studio recently, practicing the vibe of my new setup where everything in my studio is connected, for once.

I have a wonderful connection with people who feel techno. There's an intense ball of anxiety that has made me an unstable mess, and I'm often stuck in my head in a painful place trying to reason my way out of it. But then I get in a room that's so loud and so peaceful and I realize everything's going to be just fine. And I'm amazed by the beauty I see in the eyes of people. People who have been in a hopeless dark place and are getting a glimpse of a safe place. It's a side of humanity that I didn't know existed, and it's a bit overwhelming.
..don't overthink it... ^^
Can i contact you
@@smeg4brainz That's easy for you to say. I'm grateful for every moment I can get where I'm not stuck in a loop of overthinking! 🙂

This is why i miss raves so much
A nice fusion of Techno, progressive Trance and Acid.
old skool at its best
He definitely nailed it. Modern day EDM producers are bound by the limitations of 3 part rondo. I.e. every song has to be 3.30 long so it can be played on radio. No transitions or long build ups which is the essence of techno, progressive and trance music.
So brilliant to see real levers and knobs being twisted and pushed to create a vibe. And then out of the music, the 303 just starts coming up and up and before you realise you're smiling and nodding.. love it.
It's incredibly how these legendary, influential instruments that were often considered to be a failure for their time managed to tell such a beautiful story through the power of an incredibly talented artist. Got goosebumps!
I’ve been a fan , dj and curator of trance and electronic music for 25 years.l and in my opinion this is as pure and legit as it gets. Love it. Those 303s have their own soul. .
Fn bangin! Right!
agreed 100% here.
Can I like this more than once? Like 100x? Well done. 👏🏻

Hi Joris, my son 3 year’s old is a big fan of your music. Great live session. Best Regards from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Great father I would say
Gruess a dich und din sohn... er verstaht öpis vo musik!😉 de track isch grad sbrutalschte wo momentan im umlauf isch! Thx joris...

The cymbal pitch-up and pitch-down drives the changes in the song structure so well ! What beautiful ‘non-white noise’ transitions man, brilliant composure 👊🏼
30 years later these instruments still sound excellent
like a lost R&S out 94/95, missed in my collection, a rough gem, made with passion in the deep of our techno-universe, thank you Joris!
30 year old hardware sounding just as fresh as the latest vst
Its really weird how most plugins try to emulate the vintage sound and most newer hardware is trying to be modern (even though synth people usually just want the vintage hardware)
40 year old hardware
Hardware > vsts all day long
@@SchnabelsSauce well for the price they cost they should
Yes but the sound itself is pretty old and stale to me at least. I was raving to this throughout the nineties
I love seeing how music gradually unfolds into melodic landscapes before my eyes
I don't know about you, but I LIVE for the acid sound. It makes me smile so big whenever I hear the acid sound in music! I was immediately hooked with this mini session! Great job!
Agree, but here It doesn't look to make him smile making his stuff haha :)
@@alexislucas7739 it Makes u smile on the inside
it reminds me of classic rave music where people didn't overthink music and get self-conscious about aggressive acid sounds
Just clear your mind and fly
Same as mate, I absolutely love the proper acid sound,
I miss this sound so much... Takes me back to the 90s... So much love this sound made me 👍 great talent sir 👌
The 90's was a magical time. We had no idea how special they were until we looked back in wonder. You've perfectly captured this sound. Excellent work Sir. A few more of these would definitely hit the spot.
this sound will never ever age. always timeless. amazing production.
10 minutes is just to short for being this good
I didn't want it to end. This was a proper journey. You never get this with modern dance music.
New global underground is outstanding Joris and this is epic.
oooo thanks for the heads up checking it out!!!
STILL ........ One of the BEST Dawless jams Out there And i Should Know AKA . JAFFA
JENKINS Dawless Jams
I can listen these synth in set for hours. Amazing job Joris Voorn.
I never cared much for this genre and especially not for the TB-303 sound. Well, I was wrong and very wrong. Tremendous performance, Joris! I grooved tf out to this and my musical horizons are just a bit broader thanks to you.
Pretty dope jam session. Much respect for producers creating music this way. Majority of the new gen is drag and drop on the comp.
This is brilliant. I love my TB-303 and MC-202, so it's great to see them both showcased in this video.
holy moly! This is kicking straight back to the 90s! wonderfull!
Ahhhh... Love that analog sound.. Its all about the HardWare!!
Hi Man, it's Mike Florence. This is one of the MOST ORIGINAL tunes I've heard ALL YEAR. BRILLIANT. Long may you run!!! See ya, Mike.
I feel like it's the 90s again, and I am very very happy.
The right gear.....in the right hands 🙌
That Crane Song Avocet IIA mit Remote is 3 grand alone...😯
I've got shivers down my spine watching you Jam this. I became part of the Machines. Absolutely Superb Jam
Love the pitching of the hi hat
The Acid flows again! This glorious sound will persist forever underground.
This reminds me of sleepless nights between 1998 2000 after I discovered rebirth ...
More like 96 99 for me but yep I know exactly what you are talking about...life changing mentality
1998 for me!!!! same feeling tho
Так рождается электронная музыка! Очень интересно посмотреть за работой.
Killer Jam. Huge Respect for this Guy here. Seriously excellent on the live Jam productions. A few so called 'big names' could learn a thing or two
Such a sick jam out of old school hardware, vintage is the way, analog is life
Super Joris, back to the 90s, clubbing all night long 🕺💃. Heerlijke Acid 😇
Roland TB-303 the best in the world ;)
fantastic, a trip to the 90's, incredible as always.
"Musical Frisson' is that moment when the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and electricity runs down your spine as the pleasant surprise at a change in the music is made manifest
Such crisp and captivating sounds. Masterful composure on the equipment to boot. Been a fan of your work for a long time.
The sound that starts creeping in at 1:47 is so addicting!! I would need only that sound, a hard kick and maybe a couple fills once in a while.
Floorplan - Never Grow Old (Re-Plant) is basically that but not in the background.
This is class, perfection Joris.
G, im totaly in love for the acid line,i know for sure when i'm in charge of the Roland 303 will spend the rest of my life freaking on it ..goosebumbs for ever
I remember listening to some great mixes of yours back in the day but you fell off the radar as my tastes changed. Been getting back into techno pretty heavily lately and this is just divine. Really great performance mate, tasteful and plenty of dynamics where it counts, lovely :)
Seen so many vids where producers make entire tracks with a mouse and computer keyboard, and everything is quantized so tight. Mostly bland and boring. This however, is class! Without being titled as a tutorial, this will inspire people a lot more I think
I love it! Excellent Joris! That's how it should be done, the old style, can feel the groove. Vinyl release would be really really great.
Outstanding
nice . verry . reminds me on early 90s raves in holland . the flow was so deep . liked some 727 percs on this great setup .
legit, love these sessions!
Incredible work! I could listen to this theme for hours
i'm alone in my room, dancing and head shacking with my hand that pumps in the air when the kick track start at every transition! greetings from italy
@Товарищ Алексей in realtà io non sono un grande esperto, però quando sento qualcosa di qualità riesco a riconoscerlo e a godermelo soprattutto!!
JORIS YOU ARE A MASTER, You know what is the future kind of music people wants to listen..!
Good Idea to mix Acid Transe, Prog & Techno / Still always loved since 90' / So, an awesome return to the Sources..! ;-) Great job, thanks :-)
amazing stuff. still my favorite sound for more than 25 years.
Hey, I thought you were "playing" the percussions bei muting/unmuting tracks on your mixer, but at 5:40 the kick sets in "early" compared to video. Is that just a sync-issue or have you pre-programmed to song-structure and are just recording parameter changes, etc.? If so, how much is pre programmed? I'd appreciate some insights into your workflow, thanks a lot, great track!
I believe its more of an automation and mixing session. Adjusting filters, slight tweaks to the oscilators and levels. Otherwise he'd be programming drums and that cool Synth riff we hear towards the second half of the track
The right way to do it is to multitrack it all along with stereo output, then do the final mix in DAW, apply dynamic processing, EQ, correct any errors. Otherwise it's too much to do real time.
So, not so much "live", heh
HOOOOO MYYYYY GOOOOOODDDDDDD don't stop don't stop don't stop don't stop don't stop don't stop
This is awesome! How tunes used to be made. Great stuff 👍
Without Roland no Techno music.
Wow that was fucking incredible! Where can I find more of this kind of stuff? The layering of all the different melodies was brilliant... they all support eachother so beautifully. Can't wait to see this live
@Defectiveresistor HOLY SHIT Yes thank you!
Check out Ricky Tinez and Ihor on YT as well 😉
Colin benders
Wow, just wow, simple, straight to the point but still subtle....
How cool is the camera Action following from side to side?!? So nice to watch !
Joris is jam is so electric, his 303 doesnt even need Power! 🤓
Ha I noticed that but I’m guessing it has batteries as the LEDs are flashing
There are some pitch changes and sequence changes without his Action. I think he re-lived
Pattern chain?
It can take AA batteries for field deployment.
Quite quick to judge. 101, 202, 303, 606, can all run on D cell batteries. Sometimes people prefer using batteries due to noise from the PSU
This is AMAZING. Old school hardware + real talent ❤
This guy must have spent a lifetime getting all this wonderful gear he has I wouldn't be surprised if he had a jupiter 8 laying around
I wish... ;)
Science teacher by day, DJ by night!
So good!! Loved what you did with the video editing too, adds a nice little touch so we can follow a bit better what exactly you're doing! Keep it up Joris, can't wait to see you play live again
The room of joy
Great jam! Did you use effects, compressors, EQ on the 909?
You can hear reverb on the clap
man this is everything
No psu on tb303 and 909.... fake jam congrats
Think he re-lived it for video editing ... thought im the only one noticed it
303 can work on battery if i remember correctly. 909 though am not sure
@@flomarin6553 if you look no sequencer is moving
Haha. Busted
Wow I was really enjoying this then a minute into it I get hit by an ad
really amazing session, as always! it looks like the Timeline isn't plugged in - what are you using for the delay?
Absolutely genius
When will you start releasing this kind of music again?
Masterpiece ... That's the style of music that brought my to the electronic music in the mid 90s. Awesome to see such "live action" again.
I would love to know how it is all connected
cable
@@pyril yea I know its cables..I was curious on the mixer and any routing with cables that is happening
303 LOVE
5:38 the 909 kick sounds before you unmute the channel?¿
I saw that too, I think he just brought the kick back a beat late and rather than redoing the whole video, he just added the kick in later lol
@@hlstrm capaz se equivoco y lo arreglo despues editando el audio del video
This is exactly how I like my music,,,, I mix but my heart is with the 303 I need to learn this set up because my head is full of acid !
It's funny that a verse is recorded and repeated ad infinitum, then a bass, this is music
nice pure&solid tune, always coming back to this piece, well done mr voorn!
I will take a shower with this now
0:39 n ice start and great Beats :045 nice clap too and 1:00 nice hit hat :D
Anyone knows what mixing desk he's using?
Its the cadac live 1
@@samuelhof2192 is this still being produced?
I guess not, but theyre available second hand
@@SixPhilippe yes, they still produce it: cadac-sound.com/product-category/analogue-consoles/
Outstanding.

Nice one, unmuting the kick with your mind lmao....
Is this evan a real jam? I mean, video does not seem to be out of sync neither before that, nor after.
bruh.. maybe fixed in post?
Master Mind.
I wish I could get all my stuff connected. Would be nice.
midi is the answer my friend
@@altenmuenster Hah, no, I understand the technical how-to, I just never manage to get everything hooked up at once. It's an ADHD bad at organizing thing.
Wow, that MC-202 sounds AMAZING, sounds like the Strymon Time delay is on it also. Excellent 😊!
Охуенно!
the tb303 sounds like nostalgia to me!!! keep up the amazing work! love all the work you do!!!
they don't play this kind of retro stuff anymore though. sad. everything is so overproduced and sounds like it all came from the same producer n studio and Beatport mastering facility.
Totally agree!
Indeed!
Not during covid, but just look for a proper club. Oldschool and similar new productions are still relevant and getting plaid in clubs.
Yeah, take me back to the start, to my youth when everything was just alright. To the early Purple Ohm massive.
257,354 views and the TB303 is not plugged in. "professional" musician here
Are you aware the TB-303 runs on batteries? 😅 Get yourself informed ✌
Soooo nice..
DIOS MIO QUE HERMOSO¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
love the TB303
Admirable! Reminds a lot the sounds of our teen/early youth years - the mighty 90s!👏🏻🙌🏻👍
i love this video, great example of just someone having fun with a process
As a producer, these videos are more valuable for learning, than any of the screaming RUclips idiots trying to sell you new gear or VSTs..
