i love the bts high angle shot to see all the gear you are using. cant wait til you show us all the stuff you use to make one vid. definitely going to take your lighting course one day when its needed. for now im in an editing course
Great video. You probably forgot about 150C. It's also amazing one, but cheaper. I've bought it recenty and used only once. As a key light it was pretty good. I used quite big modifier (120 cm octa) in some distance (about 2,5 m from the character) and set light power on 30%. I think it was really quiet. I was standing really close to it and I couldn't hear the fan
Great video thank you for sharing! Could you please give a link to the main stand that has your camera and overhead light attached to it? Many thanks for the great content.
what do you think is better than Aputure Amaran 300c or Nailite Forza 60C, if we talk about the main criteria: quality, high color reproduction and luminous flux?
I am new to lighting and I still don't know if I should go with the 150c or the 300c. I am thinking of using it for interviews in small rooms, solo dance videos, B-roll videos in restaurants, and just experimenting with light and learning in my apartment.
Hello Ben Johnson,🙌🏼 Thank you for sharing valuable information for aspiring creators embarking on their videography and photography journey. Your insights on the budget-friendly Sony Camera A6 were helpful, and I noticed you recently made a video on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Which camera would be better for someone like me who wants to create videos and engage in photography? I appreciate your advice in selecting the best camera for my needs. Thanks!
you're using it on a small lantern, but what if you used it on a big one, or on a 46 inch /120cm softbox, probably not strong enough, right? and it is a beginner light. its just a bit more expensive
It would be plenty bright, just as bright (if not more) as any other 300 watt fixture. If you needed more power then you would need a 600 or 1200 watt light, which is exponentially more expensive
Hi! I've been watching some of your light videos - good work, high quality! - but I was wondering... Do you have a good "budget" light option that can be used on my desk? I just started making videos,i have a webcam and everything is good, I just need brighter image but unluckily I don't have anymore space in my room to put a stand or stuff like that
Hello Ben hope all is well. I think it's a good light but way over priced, at this price you should get a remote with it I don't like lights that I have too use apps to control it, still and all great review thank you for sharing it with us
Actually, it’s very competitively priced and (for once) the app is actually great and useful. I use aputure and amaran lights on set all the time with Sidus link and it couldn’t be smoother.
Happy new year Ben, and congratulations on awaiting the arrival of Baby Johnson! 😍 Just a heads up, the end screens didn't pop up at the end of this video as I watched it. Maybe go check the settings when you have a moment, unless it was just a glitch on my end. Take care! Fawn 😊
If the send you a light then its considered an endorsement. Don’t get that twisted. What’s the difference. Tell the truth talk about the real problems with the light, hope they send you stuff in the future
The app system is far better, but the Godox has perks too, mainly the back display, for me it comes down to compatibility with the app and other aputure lights, as a system I’ve been enjoying aputure more for more advanced lighting suiff like pixel effects with the tubes, but sometimes just using a remote can be more convenient with the Godox. Both a fantastic it just depends on your needs/wants
@benjohnsoncreative I bought the aputure 300c at 4 days ago and I see the godox sr300z have 49800 lux out put and aputure 300c is 20890 lux, So i sold the 300c and buy sr300z today. I hope this is a good choice. XD love your video ~ from Taiwan
Happy new year my dude and congrats to you & mama Johnson on the incoming bundle of joy. 🙏
Thank you! We are eagerly waiting for baby’s arrival 👶🏼

The 150c is a great choice too
I would need to use this wirelessly. What are the best budget friendly v-mount battery packs and batteries that I could pick up?
Great video thank you for sharing! Could you please give a link to the main stand that has your camera and overhead light attached to it? Many thanks for the great content.
Love my 300c & this video made me love it more 🔥
Such a dope light! 💡

The 150 is still super bright, I’d go with that and overtime if you feel you need more light you can upgrade

Thanks!
The a6700 would be better if you want photo and video

Thanks for the quick response, 🥰
Ben! I appreciate your recommendation.
Can you do an updated video of budget video lights sub $150
Check out the video I recommend at the end - definitely have reviews on lights under $150!
I have the 150c and love it.
Amazing!
For a typical sit down video set up would you need 2 of these as a key and fill light?
No you could use just one with a large soft box and angle the light accordingly to achieve as much or as little shadow as you want
Thanks for the info! What do you use as a teleprompter?
I don’t use a teleprompter. I make a note in my phone with talking points or a script and I just refer to it throughout my time filming
Hey, thanks for this amazing video. Can you share the link of the tripod for this light?
I have the same one, but I have a question, sometimes when I'm shooting with my iPhone the light creates weird lines in my videos, how can I fix that?
I dont know the word in english for it but try to change the system frequency, or just the fps. 24/25/29
Is it better than the nanlite forza 300 b ii ?
In my opinion yes it’s better. The forza doesn’t have RGB options and in my experience nanlite app control is flakey
by the time i can afford this thing or even need it I hope its the new version with the fan issue fixed lol

It’s actually a pretty good price considering how strong the light is! It just depends on your needs and budget 😎
u need light not remote just focus on point
Actually, it’s very competitively priced and (for once) the app is actually great and useful. I use aputure and amaran lights on set all the time with Sidus link and it couldn’t be smoother.
Does the app work with both apurture and amaran lights or do they require separate ones?
Both

Fawn 😊
Its good more than godox sl300r or vl300 ?
Amazing !!! But over budget for me...that would be ideal !!!
There are other great options at lower budgets!
Better than godox sl300r?
I haven’t tried that one but I love this Aputure light
That case is ASS! but the light is amazing
3-pin XLR power in?!!! Really?
Just got the 300c for $380, can't beat the price. Hopefully i like it🤞🏾
Where’d you get it for $380! 😭
If the send you a light then its considered an endorsement. Don’t get that twisted. What’s the difference. Tell the truth talk about the real problems with the light, hope they send you stuff in the future
I share the cons about products whether they were sent to me or not
Is it good more than godox sz300r or sz150r ?
