What do you think of these budget RGB lights? I do want to mention that both of these lights are NOT weather resistant but both lights do have options to power them via V-Mount batteries for outdoor use using separate accessories. Either using GVM's V-Mount Power Supply Box or Aputure's V-Mount Power Station.
I was torn between these 2 lights for the past couple of months. I went ahead and purchased the GVM mainly because of price and build quality. I’ve only had it a week, so we’ll see. But I really don’t think you could go wrong with either one.
This video and exact models of lights came at the perfect time lol. For my decision, it's really coming down to the plastic knobs of the gvm vs the metal ones on the amaran. Could you see yourself accidently tightening the gvm knobs too tight and breaking it?
While I could see that happening, it would take a lot of force to break it. I think just being gentle with them and only tightening them as much as needed will avoid that concern.
@@BenGleasonMedia right on thanks for the reply 💯 after watching the rest of the video I think I'm leaning toward the amaran again for the light qual 😆 but now I'm wondering if I should wait to see if there'll be a sweet black Friday deal 🤔
Cause I don’t have a Nanlite 300c. But I will say, from what understand about that light, I would pick these two over that light solely for the fact that the nanlite 300c doesn’t come with a travel case.

Green and Magenta controls are very underrated when it comes to lights, especially when mixing lights from different brands.
Great comparison. I really appreciated the white light comparisons.
Thanks bro! 🥲
i appreciate this video as i'm in the market for getting a light (leaning on amaran 300c). you've gained a sub!
Thanks for watching! 🙌
For me, also working in the concert industry, having that DMX port makes it a whole lot more interesting
Wish I knew more about it to test it out! 😩 maybe I’ll have to do some research and try it out!

How did it go? Planning to get the GVM
@@LanceRazon I’m very pleased with the light. I haven’t used it on a job yet, but I’ve used it on my personal projects and it’s been amazing.
Great video! Check out some of Colbor’s lights as well. Really great bang for the buck
I’ve seen those from other creators but would love to check them out myself! 👏 thanks for watching!

@CharlesLucky oooooh there is a good chance Amaran will have a good Black Friday Sale
@@BenGleasonMedia bet I'm waiting then 💯
@ DO IT! 🙌
Why didn’t you include the nanlite 300c ?

@ that’s true but for the price, you can’t beat it, it’s cheaper than both of those
The prices are not as stark in other marketplaces across the world.
What are some good key lights
Both of these would make fantastic key lights! But if you need more output the GVM 650B or the Aputure 600d would be great options as well
