There are only a few vids on the ES-5 and none of them has showed how to switch though the groups. (using the foot switches) This is one the most basic functions that seems hard to do without dedicated switches like the ES-8 since the ES-5 only has one bank switch. Please focus on actual features of the pedal and less on playing/unconscious "shredding".... Cheers!
Thank you for the demo man. I didn't get the boost feature exactly. U can boost a loop sound in manual mode? Can u make different presets with different volumes, some boosted? Thank u
How do you store 200 patches like it says you can? I only see 5 banks, 5 patches per bank which is 25. I see 111-115, 121-125, 131-135, 141-145 and 151-155. So how do you get 200 patches? The manual is vague.
Boss es 5 or es 8 Hello. My question is: I have a Fractal Ultra device, a two-channel Egnater 2x12 oven without midi, a few cubes and wah that serve as a supplement. From the fractal I use only spatial effects. Is I able to save the amplifier channel (does the device support the footswitch?) Using one of these devices, for example in the first preset?) Then one of the loops from the looper, eg Bogner extazy and additionally some spatial effect by the midi signal, eg delay? Is Es 5 enough or es 8? Sorry for my English I'm learning:)
This device can save up to 200 patches. Just wanna ask if I change/replace one of my pedals with different pedal, will it affect the patches? Let's say I save patch no 1 for clean channel with delay. But I remove my delay pedal or replace it with different delay pedal.
Hi madsouls, thanks for your comment! If the pedals that you want to run through your FX loop are MIDI switchable, then yes, you can configure the ES-5 to run them through your FX loop. Otherwise, not really, you'd need to go up to the ES-8. Hope this helps!
That's helpful, as I have a quite a few FX, but a couple of them are MIDI switchable (trem/delay) so I don't need to go for the ES-8. 5 will suffice. Flangers/phasers are *kind* of similar, up to a point, so if you want to swap out pedals, I take out the phaser and replace it with a flanger (or vice-versa); keeping the patch settings in mind, or dedicating another, you can really expand your tone with this thing.

Great demo!

How do you use it with an amp's effects loop?
Do you have to assign the wah if your wah is true bypass? What it you plug directly into the wah then into the ES5?

I've got a mark v head, how do I assign the channels 1,2 and 3 to the footswitch? (2) Please can you answer???
How does the tuner work?
I run two heads at once. Can this be used two switch channels on both heads?

Swapping out the pedal won't effect the saved patch, except that obviously it will now be running the signal through the new pedal.

THats a good question. Maybe Midi?
can it be used for amps with fx loop? (i.e. to separate some pedals in front of amp and through fx loop)

+Better Music got it. Thanks!
