+Gothamista Hi hoping you would reply to this. I am looking to get a complete skincare package for my mother who has thin skin/ wrinkle problem. She is mid40s now and so beautiful but compared to her friends she looks way older because of her skintype. Please help me get her the perfect routine.
I have acne prone/ oily skin. can u suggest any package for me. things that are internationally available, because whatever you mention are really good but I cant seem to find them. thanks :)
and I don't wear makeup on daily basis, very rarely on festive seasons. whatever I use on my skin seem to cause breakouts so I stopped using SPFs and anything at all, all I used was a mild soap and that was it. please suggest a complete skin care for me
R Pendragon I watch the videos with my mom in mind too 😄 and she has the exact same issue - very very thin skin with deep lines. I mean she's 62 now but she's always had that issue :-( She is stunningly beautiful, though!!
Can you please do an updated video on this topic please ? I feel like there’s a lot of new stuff in the market and was wondering if you still feel the same abt these products 😊
There are cheaper dupes for the C+E Ferulic i.e. Timeless and Cosmetic Skin Solutions which are about $25-$40 each. I've tried the cosmetic skin solutions and loved it. It was near identical and lasted longer (didn't go yellow) than the skinceuticals version as she says on the webpage that she makes each batch fresh. TBF I did put the serum in a airless pump bottle in the fridge and it lasted 4-5 months and was still water clear. I threw it away bc I wanted a fresh batch not because it wasn't useable. Also if you want a cheaper better alternative to the Skinceauticals restexturing activator - try the alpha hydroxy lotion or serum which have 10-14% Glycolic acid. They cost about $10-15 for 170 ml.
Thanks for recommending cheaper alternatives. I hate it when people talk about recommended skin care products that cost upwards of $200. It's not helpful.
" Although it's never too early for prevention and to start good skincare habits, you really don't need serums this powerful in your early 20s if you don't have problematic skin. " --Thank You, that really helped.
Oh my goodness, I'm so happy I've come across your channel Renee! You are so eloquent and informative, thankyou for taking the time in creating your videos and sharing your knowledge. You are a gem! A new subscriber :) xxx
Finished my first Missha ampoule. It works. The texture is light but super rich, very rare combination. My dehydrated skin adores it. At the beginning it dried out on my face in seconds, then it took more and more time to dry. That is how I understood that my skin is becoming more hydrated and plump. I will buy the ampoule again.
Skin Actives Scientific Antioxidant Serum is an awesome dupe for the Skinceuticals CE Ferulic. It also has fermented sea kelp and much other good stuff. It's $23 and you keep it in the fridge.
Renée, I wanted to share with you that what I am now doing is first after cleanse, apply most potent essence or treatment essence: vit c or nyacimdes or an ampoule then i do the 2 or 3 or 7 skin chok chok method. i want the most potent formula to go in first. You are my utmost admired guide. Thanks again.
I am currently working on fixing my skin and stopping the constant break outs i always get and Your videos are so helpful they have a wealth of information that helps me find great products to help my skin because I never use to think skincare was a big deal so I am now learning everything from scratch so thanks for the great information! :)
I'm rewatching this video for the 4th time! I love to reference this when I'm shopping for a new serum. Any chance you can do an updated serum post in 2018?
I just read your description box! a great dupe for the ce ferulic is the one by "timeless", its about 20-25 bucks. I have normal skin but they dont make a dupe for the phloretin, which Im really interested in!
Are there more budget friendly alternatives. For a college student scraping to survive but still wants flawless skin can you suggest cheaper but awesome alternatives?
kuroko taiga missha has 40-50% off all the time. for vitamin c try Paula's choice its also 15% vit c and ferulic half the price too. also they do sales as well.
Don't know if you've ever tried Biopelle brand- but their 75%! Retinol a serum is a godsend for my skin. I'm 30 now and I've suffered from OCD dermatillomania since 3rd grade so I have some scarring/hyper pigmentation, & my pores have gotten larger as my skin matures, and I still struggle with OCD and have blemishes that need help for me to stay clearer. For whatever reason this is the only product I've ever used that helps my skin look better overnight! It glows more bc the pores are smaller and it reflects more light. It helps my skin turnover so my blemishes or sores caused by my OCD heal much faster, redness is lessened, overnight. They're not paying me ;) hehe. It's been an amazing product for me. I have a sample size of that C E Ferulic serum! ✨🙌💕🌸 so I'm looking forward to seeing results, I just started using it.
I love your videos and i totally agree, antioxidants are the best! I also use vitamin C, green tea, berries, niacinamide, arbutin, fermented products, snail and ginseng and other oriental medicine products on my routine! They really work the best for baby skin. You have an amazing skin! Thanks for the inspiration :) Keep up with the good work :D =** kiss ;)
I'm so glad I found your channel and blog! I am in my thirties and so overwhelmed by all the skin care stuff. I really like how you break it all down and i love your style.
I think Serum 10 (also from Skinceuticals) is a better option for oily skins than C E Ferulic. I used both and C E Ferulic gave me some breakouts, but at the time I was 20 years old and my hormonal was unbalanced. Righ now I am 24 years old and I use Serum 10 (with 10% of vitamin C and Ferulic acid) to prevent aging. Anyway, nice video!
I really like your skincare products. You do a great job talking about the ingredients of the products and I like it when you talk about products that you are not a big fan of.
Hi Renee! Would LOVE to see an,updated version of this subject! I am loving a lot of my K-Beauty products- but have no idea what's good or bad! Especially would love to hear more about essences, ampoules, serums that actually work for m elasma (mine,is under control but always on the search to brighten/lighten that last 20% left! Basically, things for more, mature skin. A lot of your product recs seem,to just basic hydration...
What do you think of Vitamin C in powder form (versus in a serum)? How do you incorporate a Vitamin C powder in a skincare routine - with your essence, lotion?
Hi Rene, I really trust your opinion since I’ve bought many products you’ve recommended and I’ve always been happy with the results. Could you do an updated video of anti-aging serums? Or at least recommend me a few? Thanks for having this channel, you are the most informative RUclipsr ❤️
I'm so happy to hear/read this! Everyone's skin is so different and products are so subjective, what works for me won't be to everyone's liking. Thank you for wanting to know more and understand what to look for rather than just being told what to buy!
Thank you for making this video as i was just about to order the Mizon Ampoule & was searching for reviews! Appreciate how clear & articulate your videos seem to be :) x
Thank God I get the chance to know your videos, now I finally understand what skincare is all about! You rock and please keep on making these really great videos!
Your skin is amazing. I enjoy watching your videos. I am very picky about what I use in my face due to my sensitive/oily/acne prone skin. You have been very helpful.
I found you on youtube a while ago and I am obsessed! You are so knowledgable. Im 24 years old and I'm pretty serious about double washing in the evening and applying spf daily (my skin is normal to dry, I am not acne prone, just the normal hormonal situations women face during the time of the month). Can you PLEASE suggest the top 3 products in serums for me to apply, and for vitamin A,E and D are the ones drop forms suggested on iherb.com okay? It's a lot of information to take in after watching all of your videos and I would just LOVE a starting point from you. (I have already purchased The Revolution, and the Miracle Rose Stick Cleanser to start!)
Thank you so much for these episodes! They're so helpful and informative. I like how you tell a lot about different ingredients in a simple form - I tend to learn more about them now (not just korean brands or products), and that's where you come in :-) Hope you'll do more videos of this kind, thanks again for your hard work!
U are very professional and the way u are explaining it's very understandable pls continue to spread this important information about our skin and health
Great video! I'm currently using the Missha long name ampoule and liking it so far. I've been wondering whether to go ahead and cash out to buy the SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic serum cause its so expensive and well loved but I'm not too sure about the alternatives on the market cause I think SkinCeuticals has a patent on its vitamin c serum made with L-Ascorbic Acid with Ferulic Acid and VItamin E with pH level of 2.5-3.0. Other products being sold would probably be in the range 3.0-3.5 which would still be effective, or otherwise be using an alternative form of Vitamin C, like MAP or tetra C. I'm considering DIYing it cause it allows for the flexibility of customising the serum with other goodies. I love your videos, your information about skincare is so valuable! Keep up the amazin work
I mean...with all of these skincare steps, isn't it difficult to know exactly which products are working for you and which are having no effect? Should you add in additional products in stages?
Just found you on RUclips and just two of your videos have answered all my skincare confusions! Also, what lipstick are you wearing lol I love the color!
Hi Rene, could you please do a video on Vitamin c based serum & how to incorporate it & also how many serums for multiple purposes can be used in daily skin care
Love it when my iPhone tells me you've uploaded a new video! Finally someone who obsesses over their skin as much as I do! #friendinmyhead These are so informative and well done. Keep going!
Do you think that the Missha is okay to use along with a Vitamin C serum at night? Or would that be too much with the Lactic Acid and Retinol? I’m still trying to get my routine down and trying to figure out what ingredients are okay to use with what. But it’s still a fun journey! Love your videos! So helpful and straight to the point!
Crack for the eyes? I guess i GOT to have this! Lol. Love your channel so jammed packed with useful information! And wonderful products. I mean, according to you, you sell me on everything you speak of!!!
Never heard of ampoules before. They sound so cool. Must get the Missha one lol! Kiehl's Biological Peel is another urea based gel that's really gentle. Your channel is so informative, thank you. :D
I just discovered your channel 7 days ago and I have been obsessed with it ever since ! I don't know why I didn't come across it years ago?! I love how you, like me, focus on ingredients and not the brand. I had a question about Missha TR Night Repair Science Activator amapoule - the link takes us to a product called Missha TR NR Borabi Ampoule. Same brand but what it says on the bottle in your vdo is different from the link you provided. Is it the same product? upgraded version?
Have you tried phyto- c (skincare brand) , I love their serums so consecrated and active and the man who is behind the brand is the person who stabilized vit c (l-ascorbic acid ) , I think you might like their products 😊
Hi Gorthamista! I subscribed to your channel a couple of days ago and it's such a life changer! I always aim to improve my skin care routine and knowledge and your videos are so informative that I can't believe I wasn't introduced to them before! I actually purchased earlier today some Korean skin care products based on your recommendation! But I was wondering... I'm using a Vitamin C serum that I find lovely but I'm not sure all the ingredients are ideal. what do you think of a serum that contains only: Deionized Aqua (Water), Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide (Botanical Hyaluronic Acid), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Carbomer, (2s)-2-Amino-5-guanidinopentanoic Acid, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, d-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Organic Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola Extract), Organic Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail Plant Extract), Organic Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium Extract), Organic Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion Extract). It has 20% vitamin C, 10% Hyaluronic Acid and 1% vitamin E which makes me think it might be too good to be true! (it's by Amara Organics) If you'll have the time to answer it'd be incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for your amazing videos :)
Hi Renee! Hope you are doing well. Can you please make an updated video for this topic. Cause a lot of products are new in the market, i was wondering if you can make a dedicated video. Thanks in advance♥️
Would the Missha ampoule be ok to use on skin if you're in your 20s? I watched the skincare in your 20s video, and you spoke about not using retinol based products, which that ampoule has in it. Thanks. Great, informative channel!
Hi Rene. Thanks for all these informative videos. One question... after retinol/retinoids or AHA you mentioned you wouldn’t use the Ampoule; so it’d have to be used in nights when you’re not using the ret or AHAs... what type of serum would you recommend or use.
Any suggestion for someone in late 20's with dry/dehydrated very sensitive skin that is caffeine free (teas), and gluten free? Want to take care of my skin and prevent visible signs of aging, but I am struggling to find something healthy, actually beneficial that won't irritate my skin.
Hi! This review is amazing, so informative!! I love Retexturing Activiator a lot but i was told to use it before my regular serum as a prep, and that it works well before CF Ferulic but from ur review i understand it’s not exactly how it should be used. Is RA is supposed to be the only product i can put on my face or i can combine it with others, like cream or oil on top? Thank u
My question with the ce phloertin is the vitamin C, I had always though that vitamin C is destroyed by UV rays, I’ve always thought vitamin C was supposed to be used at night
i also use missha ampoule since few months ago, it last long n i even use it under eye at night, it's brightening my eyebag a bit, but i want to try other product, i think i might buy retexturing activator haha
I love your channel. I am a bit older than you (that's an understatement) and I use Tazorac .1% (synthetic retin A) for wrinkles. Could I still use the ampoule that has retinol in it? I note it does have acids as well, maybe I should not use it? I use the Tazorac every night, I'm quite used to it. What do you think? Again, really love your channel.
You said that we should not use vitamin C if your face is wet. I was wondering if wet also includes a toner. Because I always apply my toner on my wet face and then I apply my vitamin serum on top of it. Is that wrong?
I can't seem to reply to some of your comments because of your settings - just so you know I'm not ignoring! Your comments are everything ❤️

cosmetic skin solutions vitamin c is awful, I've tried it... it oxidized in less than a month like from colorless to dark brown
I wasn't impressed with the timeless, personally.

Wonderful, clear, concise, explanations. You give the lay person valuable information without any nonsensical filler!

Can U make the new best serum and ampoule in 2018? Thx a lot.. keep share the love,Renee 😙
Oh thank you for the tip about water neutralizing vitamin C!!! That's a game changer! 🙏✌️👍✨💕💋
thank you so much for this recommendation! I love hearing about skincare products that have actually made a difference since a lot out there doesn't!

Hi!
I use Caudalie serum (the white o é, for lighter skin) in the morning and Missha at night.
It has been working so good... 😉
Carmen Cristina Carvalho is the caudalie serum good for sensitive or acne prone skin?
An updated video of this PLEASE!!
Now I will be looking for a niacinamide containing serum when I finish my current bottle. Thanks!
I get so happy when you upload a video thank you 😄
+nenany718 Thank you sweets!
I had to watch it twice because I was just looking at your beautiful skin (you are so beautiful too:-) ) Thanks for such detailed video!!
Aww thank you so much!!!
This video is awesome! I've learned a ton and you explain it so well.Thank you!
I'm using a Vitamin C serum that I find lovely but I'm not sure all the ingredients are ideal. what do you think of a serum that contains only:
Deionized Aqua (Water), Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide (Botanical Hyaluronic Acid), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Carbomer, (2s)-2-Amino-5-guanidinopentanoic Acid, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, d-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Organic Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola Extract), Organic Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail Plant Extract), Organic Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium Extract), Organic Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion Extract).
It has 20% vitamin C, 10% Hyaluronic Acid and 1% vitamin E which makes me think it might be too good to be true! (it's by Amara Organics)
If you'll have the time to answer it'd be incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for your amazing videos :)
Since water ruins vitamin c - am I making my c serum useless by using a sheet mask 15 minutes after I apply my vitamin c?
I thought vit c make your skin sensitive to sun and if you use it during daytime you will get those brown spots
Hi Rene. Thanks for all these informative videos. One question... after retinol/retinoids or AHA you mentioned you wouldn’t use the Ampoule; so it’d have to be used in nights when you’re not using the ret or AHAs... what type of serum would you recommend or use.
Love your vids you are so informative, just a request if you can recommend more products for hormonal acne or combination skin more in general, thx
im so glad ampoules dont come in those breakable snap glass bottles anymore. i cut my skin one time.
Love your vid. A knowledgeable one, knowing what are the key ingredients that we should look for for a good product
+adeying Thank you!
Hey! I really love all your videos! It is really helpful :) and also your skin is flawlesss
+amelia LML Aw thank you so much, love!
Any suggestion for someone in late 20's with dry/dehydrated very sensitive skin that is caffeine free (teas), and gluten free? Want to take care of my skin and prevent visible signs of aging, but I am struggling to find something healthy, actually beneficial that won't irritate my skin.
Love the vibe of your videos
Thank you! ❤️
Thank u
Yes. Just one: any hint on the next lotto numbers? :D thanks for the video!
Splendid knowledge. I own many of your suggestions. amazing skin¡¡ muchas gracias, Renée.
I love how your video's are very informative! Thank you! :3
You have any video about getting rid of blackheads and spot treatments and how to do pimple extraction?
What do you think of the nacific fresh herb serum? Im trying the missha one and i can see great results. I can see why serums are important already ☺️
Im curious what lipstick did you use? Love it! ❤
Is that wrong?
can you talk in one of your videos about what you think of snail mucin, please
