I own both. I work on my desktop at home. I take my MacBook when I’m on the go. I think having the full 128gb ram on the iMac helps greatly. The M1 is better but the iMac still performs very well. I’m very happy with both.
Absolutely amazing video. This is exactly the type of comparison I was looking for! I really appreciate how in depth you went and how clearly all the info was presented. And no extraneous info at all. Subscribed!
I'm considering upgrading from the 2020 iMac with the 5700 8gb graphics card to either the 5700xt iMac or Mac Studio. Do you think the 5700xt iMac would be a big enough upgrade performance-wise to be worth it? I often edit music videos with heavy effects & layers.
Im the opposite haha, give me all the performance possible, and if it needs to be big, bulk and not move i will work around that. I was looking to sell this imac, and use my m1 max returned amount to put towards a Mac Pro, but now my situation has changed a little and it probably wont be possible. it would have been great to see what the fastest of the fastest compares against all these machines.
@@TymekStolarz I wish you all the best buddy. With the pace that you produce some extremely quality content, the day is not far when Apple gonna approach you to review their products. 👍🏼
Would you rather have extreme power but have less portability, or would you rather sacrifice computing performance for portability?

Nice! do you think you'll be upgrading the iMac to one of the higher tier desktop-esk M1 computers?

Glad it was useful for you! testing all these macs, and making the videos took forever haha.

Great work, appreciate
Thank you so much :) that is very kind of you to say
Would always choose portability over computing performance definitely more so when it outperforms the desktop overall.
