Great review... thanks for posting. I had a Grote 335 in the standard red and sold it due to it needing so much work to be playable. There are many "it's great right out of the box" videos on YT for the Grote so I think I just got one of the unlucky lemons. I did a little research and Redid has a guitar factory in Shandong where they produce the Redid, Grote, and Volgoa guitar brands. The Redid RD-100 is almost identical to the Grote I had and sold except for the color. I got a brown RD-100 and it is MUCH better out of the box than the Grote. I really wanted the brown RD-100 when I bought the Grote before Christmas, but they were out of stock. As you said, the brown Redid is much more of a rich, deep wine color than brown. I prefer it over the Grote's classic 335 red. Your orange one looks great on camera and I bet it's even better in person. My Redid needed some touch up for the fret ends above the 12th fret just as you mentioned. I also adjusted the truss rod and bridge slightly to get the action where I want it. I've been playing for 50 years (with bands in the past and now recording at home) and have had many guitars over that time, including the big names. I mainly played humbuckers over the years although I love the tones you can get from the single coils. The Redid has decent enough pickups to get the job done. I agree with you that the tuners are a pretty big weak spot. Mine were especially bad and I ordered and installed some Jin-Ho locking tuners that were a drop in fix. It made a huge difference in the livability of the guitar for a relatively small amount of $. I'm also looking for a replacement truss rod cover. I'm not a fan of the plain-font, redundant name and model number on the original (I've turned the original over so It's solid black) and like you, I think the name and design on the headstock are understated and a little classy. I'll probably replace the nut at some point, but I'm too busy playing, recording, and enjoying the RD-100. The affordable guitars coming out of Asia these days are astounding. The clones that I started off with decades ago were absolute junk compared to these. Great time to be a beginning guitar player!

Very nice guitar and it shows that the old saying "you get what you pay for" is nowhere near as true as it once was (and it was never completely true anyway). It also shows that Asian made guitars are better quality than they once were. The unfortunate part is the reason these are so affordable is that the people making them are paid very little compared to American workers in the same job. And this costs less than my Epiphone ES-345 which was made in China.

Good review. Not afraid to buy REDID. They make great guitars at a budget price. I bought the Century Model jazz and its insane Quality and Sound. Set up Great too before it came.

I got one of these a couple months ago also orange. It truly played out of the box.even intonated. No buzz, good action. But I like to buy inexpensive guitars and make them a little better. So I got gotoh locking tuners, tom bridge, and tailpiece. Along with also from Amazon,a"Epiphone pickups and harness with push pull pots.gonna put it together this weekend and see if I have an Epiphone 335 for half price.

As long as you are not expecting PERFECTION. Because even the big brands don't offer that. I don't think you will be disappointed. Thanks for the view and comment. ,👍

Also how would you rate this for a first time player as far as fretting

I'm wondering if all these guitar brands are made the same or in the same factory. I wonder how many factories there are. I like mine a lot. Yours has wider nicer bigger inlays than my $160 guitar. The fretboard on mine feels funny. i mean i like it its just different almost like a type of rubbery vinyl. i hope its real wood tho. i mean it has to be to hold the frets in right? I love the sound. I'm gonna lower the nut. I think the basswood is the top laminate on mine. Others say to wax pot the pu's and upgrade all the stuff. anyways. i am just enjoying it as it eccept for the high nut action. I could even make my own new nut if i wanted. I have blanks and cheap tools but im lazy sometimes

Any idea the size of the tuners? I want to order some self locking and string cutting tuners. The RD-100 is still in the shipping process from Amazon for me. Would like to see more vids from you.

I unfortunately don't know the size of the tuners. Have not been able to find that. And thanks I plan on getting started again. I had a bout with COVID . My mom passed away.. And moved my family 1,000 miles across the country.. so it's been a crazy time since this video.. but should be getting back to it soon. Thank you so much for watching..
