Ola, thank you for all your videos. I can't state how much I've improved just by watching your tutorials. To be honest, I like more to hear you speaking spanish with subtitles than hearing someone else versionning the vids.
@@AngelGiraldeZ Your English is fine in my opinion but the voice over really isn't that good. So sub titles or just you speaking is way better sounding option.
Really appreciated your english commentary my friend, for a while i've been watching in awe on alot of your paint work, as you happily spoke in Spanish, and just wishing I could understand those prescious tips without RUclips subtitles messing it up.
I like the new format, as I never enjoy watching someone speak and have someone else do voice over. Don’t worry about your English accent. It’s perfectly comprehensible.
Amazing video! I love that you do your intro and your sign-off twice. I too prefer you speaking Spanish while I read the subtitles. It's your language and you should speak it and enjoy it! 🤗 Excited to do more pigment bases for my minis!
I'm very glad the subtitles are back. I do have a question though, what was the purpose of texturing the base before applying the pigments? The final product appeared to get most of its texture from the process of applying the pigments, rather then the underlying texture on the base.
As said on Twitter, that's really simple but effective! Time to do a nice desert themed base tester for future projects and Fantasy Football fields I create!
Gran tutorial. No?
Another great video Angel, can't wait to see how you did some of that stuff for Ankh. I noticed you using the RGG 360 holder, I love that thing. Honestly I don't think that orange putty they use gets the credit it deserves. That is the best putty I have ever used, think it stole the show. Thank you for sharing and stay safe!
How do you varnish the bases after the pigment process is done? Do you varnish the model separately before adding it to the base? Could a matt varnish be used to fix the pigments?
Ankh just arrived and bam I see your video. Thank you so much. Did you make any other videos on the Ankh figures? If not that would be really cool. PS: Just as a side question. The Ankh miniatures were all true to size when you painted them for the showcases? I can not comprehend how you can get that level of detail on this size. Especially the free hand stuff
The bases look great, thank you for that easy tutorial! I would prefer to hear english voice, because by reading the subtitles all the time, I might miss crucial steps you do. Keep up the good work!
These bases look amazing! My only concern would be how 'durable' they are. I'm always terrified of using pigments for things that will get handled a lot, since I'm afraid they'll basically shed over time and leave dusty smears over my board and other miniatures. For a display model this is great, but would it work well for a gaming piece?
Angel, I liked the video. I can even start to pick out a few Spanish words now. If the pigments and thinner are the only two ingredients, how strong are the pigments bound to the base? Is there a way to seal the final product? Matte finish?
Thanks! If you are a gamer you should apply matte varnish so it protect the pigment.I make theses bases when I paint boxarts and I don't need to protect it
Great video thank you. Please can you tell me if these bases are suitable for gaming or only useable for displaying models? I’m am trying to understand if the pigments would fall of if used for games and placed in cases regularly. Thank you
In this video I only want to explain how to make the base but if you want to hold the mini on the base, the process is different, FIRST you have to hold the mini on the base and then you make the base 😉
Hi Angel, love the bases, I’ve just made a couple. Question - how do you fix models to them, mine keep coming off and pulling the pigment with them. Do you varnish them before you put models on them? Thanks
Good question. In this video I only wanted to explain the process BUT if you wan to make these bases you have to assemble the model on the base and then you apply the pigment and the tinner 😉
I love how your desert base looks and I can reproduce it on my own minis. However, I intend to use them for gaming, so I need to protect the pigments using a matte varnish rattle can spray. For some reason, I just cannot get it right. Either I spray it too light and the pigments still comes off when you touch it, or I spray it on to thick (I guess) and the pigments turn white. The rest of the mini does NOT turn white with the same amount of spray on it. Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong and how to prevent it? Thank you!
I was suspicious after watching that this doesn’t work so I gave it a go using the exact same products. And yeah, it doesn’t work at all. The thinner simply evaporates out of the pigment which remains a powder
