peoples creativity in this game is just so unreal
It helps that the crafting system in this game has quite a lot of freedom, when you're a little patient. True of many crafting games, however.
If only the snap points weren't so stubborn at times.
Actually it was made in unity
This video makes me want to put another 300 hrs into this game
Here's a comment to help you out with the algorythm
Your sense of decoration is amazing
Very underated video, found a lot of inspiration trough this!
Thank you, happy to hear that!
Wow, this is sooo inspiring! Please do more vids like this one! 🙌
This video just show how people can be so creativity. Thanks for giving me some building ideas too!
I always learn something new on videos like this. I like the idea of the large chests in the floor. Looks like a cellar door.
I've just started this game and have been absolutely immersed in the building side of things. Came here for inspiration and got exactly that. Your base looks amazing and you have some incredible ideas. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Really glad you like the ideas and our base. Building is really so much fun and we loved creating ours, I'm sure you'll have a great time!
I dig it! Some really nifty ideas here. I particularly love the arches as steps in the water. Brilliant idea.
Thanks!
Wow, so well thought out and creative.
About fisherman's storage - you could place a cooking station and hang fish on it, then just remove the campfire underneath.
That's a great idea. Saw this tip a few days ago in another video, but didn't even think of using it that way! Thanks for the suggestion, really nice!
@@Pixelcave downside is that the fish is still steaming and producing a sizzling noise
Alright, well, needs to be tested how it looks - if too out of place, it'll definitely make it into our next kitchen set-up. 😀
@@Pixelcave looking forward for the next video!
Subscribed immediately when you showed the chests set into the floors. Pure genius. I'm going to beat that tip to death in my builds from now on.
Thank you, glad you found something useful for your own builds. We're also loving our floor chests, they are super convenient!
You had me at wanting to make your space immersive and lived in
♥
Awesome ideas! ..well done to all involved 😀👍
Fantastic ideas! Thanks so much 😊
Thank you! 😃
I was going to make a tavern, got great inspiration thx:)
Thank you - Great tips
Yessss valheim vids in the morning before work
Awesome ideas, thanks!
Amazing thank you for the wonderfully inspiring ideas you present us.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video and found it inspiring!
That sign thing ... game changer!!😲👍Awesome. Thx!
You can even put the sign above and press enter a bunch before the text.
Great video! inspires me to hop right onto my server and start immersion design
Excellent tips, thank you.
Remarkable ideas, thank you for the vid!
Glad you enjoyed it and hopefully found some inspiration.
Very imaginative, great guide!
Thank you! ♥
For the fishing part, you can put a cooking station with fish on it and then remove the fire. The fish will stay hook on the station
That's a good idea indeed, thanks!
Boosting this because its such an amazing video
amazing ideas!!!
Absolutely love your build videos!
Thank yo so much! Knowing how much you are into very detailed and immersive builds yourself, that's very kind! ♥
@@Pixelcave You're welcome!
Amazing ideas and builds. Liked and subbed. keep up the great work.
Thank you very much!
Table idea is awesome
Thanks!
Awesome video, great ideas. Subbed
Thank you!
Very Good Video. Thank you very much and all the best from germany :)
Thank you! Grüße zurück!
Love this video
some great ideas! i thought i was the only person who had thought of a brute trophy window box XD
You can place a round shield below the other foods or my favourite boar head if you are very quick to make a plate
I really liked the port and the portal hub
Thank you!
awesome.
Brilliant
You have to be Scandinavian :) Nice ideas
A moment of silence for all the fine wood that was sacrificed for the creation of the countless tankards and item stands XD
Thank you, it has donated its body and soul to the service of interior design! In all seriousness, we had at least 5 portals to various islands chopping down all Birch trees in sight. 😆
A tip with the floating text is to mount the sign above and press enter alot of times before the text. This way you dont have to put the sign on the right side, just above instead.
Oh, that's a great tip, didn't think about that. Thanks for sharing!
10:45. If you want the look of exterior wood, wooden parts slightly phased into stone doesn’t weather. 😉
kinda inspirational, nifty little quirky ideas.... interesting.
This is really inspiring. I really want to use these idea in my base build. Sadly, my base already drop to 20-30 FPS with loads of stuttering and I still have more to build! Hope the dev fix it (and no, the recently optterrain update didn't help. It barely bring the FPS up)
Thank you! Yeah, hopefully we'll see a few more improvements that will make building bigger and more detailed projects less of a hassle FPS wise.
Im realy scared at this point, I have a dock (with a storagehouse/tavern), blacksmith farmhouse bare minimum left to build alongside adding trim/ decorating my massive base currently at around 50-60 fps I have no idea if opterrain will do anything either and I have so much left to build, hopefully it goes down to 40 minimum. If I currently put everything on max settings I get around 20-30 fps. I would love to be able to have the shadows etc on high they add so much depth and warmth while hopefully keeping some fps
great vid. very inspiring!
what are these drinking horns?
Thank you! This would be the "Mead Horn of Odin", unfortunately only available for those who participated in the beta.
10:24 If you just drop raw fish, it will stay in there so long as within the radius of a workbench. Something you probably knew already, but just a tip in case not!
Presumed it works like that, but didn't have it confirmed, so thanks! The problem with the raw fish is that they still look like cut in half and are not whole fish, and most importantly, that it is super easy to pick them up by accident when walking close by. Still a possibility of course, just not ideal.
for the toilet paper hammer, what if you had a horizontal item holder thats halfway inside the wall and only the top part of the hammer could stick out to look like a tp?
That's a good idea, with the right planning when building the wall, that might indeed work. Thanks for the suggestion!
When I run out of toilet paper I too look for a hammer as the next best thing!
Yeah, if only we would have thought about this before stockpiling toilet paper at the beginning of the pandemic! Life could have been so easy! 😝
Oh, I just found my toilet seat. Not sure my imagination can stretch to the hammer as roll of toilet paper with a dangling bit, but it could serve to beat drunken louts intruding on one's session over the head!
Great inspirations!
Thanks! Yepp, that might be a good use for the hammer as well! 😛
You make me want to be a better Viking Dad.
crazy 😜
You could also use some of the Unicode characters on signs, such as ☣☠☺ and my personal favourite ☭ for a tool box.
here is the communism- er... tool box
Might i ask where your from ? sound so Norwegian :p Love the ideas ! keep it up :D
Thanks! You might be correct, at least for one part of the team. 😀
If only i could stay home and build and explore
What is that dark looking hand on the treasure vault wall? Very good video btw!
Thank you! The dark hand looking thing is a Fenring Trophy, you can see it a bit better in our "All Trophies" video, where we showcase them all with location info --> ruclips.net/video/pKI1-Utr82A/видео.html
@@Pixelcave Thx for the quick answer. That might be the only trophy im missing 😀
No problem! And that's quite impressive, good luck with hunting for the last one then! 🐺
Noice!!!
annnnnnnnd saved for when I can flatten all my land and make my homeland
how did you put the fishing poles horizontally in the fishing part of the video?
We used a horizontal item stands.
@@Pixelcave didn't know I could put poles on those holders, thanks
2:39 what is the second object starting from the right on the wooden beams ??
4:47 the bottle-shaped object lying on the table
That would be the "Fire Resistance Barley Wine" which can be crafted at the Fermenter with the corresponding Wine Base. It's made from Barley and Cloudberries and the recipe unlocks once you find the ingredients if I recall correctly.
@@Pixelcave wooooo thank you soo much !
He keeps saying "We", dang i really need friends ;)
What is the table with the tablecloth?
Are you referring to the "unique tables" at 3:31? That's a small wooden pole with a shield as table top.
You said that the beehive posts weren't affected by rain. Is there something protecting them? Always struggling to find ways to avoid rain damage.
We just happened to find out that the 4 short beams under the beehive don't take any damage, in this case it might be the beehive itself protecting them.
Beehouse roofs double as a regular roof. You can have two beehives above a workbench and the workbench will register as having a roof.
Thanks for confirming and interesting fact with the workbench, haven't tried that one yet. 🙂
Damn, I have nothing to say
a m a z i n g
I just wonder… what was that horn thing and how do you get it?
You mean the drinking horn? That's the "Mead Horn of Odin" and it was unfortunately only given to participants of the beta. If you know someone who can craft it, you could give them the mats in exchange and get some crafted for your own deco!
@@Pixelcave oh okay, thanks for the info mate! I appreciate it
Good good, what is that ?? 6:02 ?
You mean the big crystal like thing? It's a trophy which can drop from Stone Golems which are found in the Mountain area.
Where did you get a horn from?
The "Mead Horn of Odin" was unfortunately only given to participants of the beta. If you know someone who can craft it, you could give them the mats in exchange and get some crafted for your own deco.
@@Pixelcave Thanks!
I wish there was free item placement without item stands
Totally agree with that! Haven't played for a while but I guess stands are still required?
How do you minimize the frame drops and lags in your village? Within our village the fps drops to 20 even with good PCs.
Can't really explain it to be honest, maybe it depends on hardware compatibility. We don't have the best PCs either anymore but have so far been fairly lucky with performance, while some friends of us haven't or even experienced countless crashes.
@@Pixelcave Are you playing on a dedicated server? I tried the devcommands on our dedicated server but it isn't working. If you are playing on a dedicated server. How do you enable it?
@@KarstenWilken Yes, playing on a dedicated server, however - unless we're mistaken, we figured out that only the creator of the server can use the devcommands, it won't work for multiple players which is very annoying when playing in co-op or with more friends. Is that maybe the problem?
@@Pixelcave Well. I can use the "save" etc commands. But I can't spawn items or enemies. I'm the owner and my character is set to admin.
Are you playing with any mods?
No mods, no. The only thing I recall for spawning items, is that the commands are case sensitive, so e.g. the command needs to be written "spawn TrophyLox", while "spawn trophylox" wouldn't work. Other than that I have really no idea why it wouldn't work for you, I recommend to maybe ask around on their official Discord server as there might be other players (or even the devs) which might be able to help.
Sadly u can't place most of the stuff anymore with stands
Not sure what substitute a hammer is for toilet paper but I suppose I lack some imagination
Well, I guess the hammer head was the closest to resembling a round roll. But hey, you would be surprised what has been used instead of toilet paper historically.
Yes, this is nice and all, but HOW? HOW do you, for example, “place a tankard on a shelf”? These are all great decorating ideas, but HOW do you physically PLACE a decorative item on a table or place a hammer on a stool?
Unless something has drastically changed since we played, you use item stands to place other items on tables, shelves, etc. Unfortunately, decoration can't be directly placed but requires these little square item stands - there's a horizontal and a vertical version of it.
@@Pixelcave Yes, but when you do this, the item stand is clearly visible. I'm not seeing any of these "item stands" either horizontal OR vertical in any of these shots, or in any of your video for that matter. So, how did you do it?
Hm, ok - I can see them with pretty much every item. Some are more, some are less visible - the color blends quite well in some cases. The only instance where we used a "trick" to hide them is the food on tables, or the tankard on the table we made with a shield - we show the trick at 4:10. If you see some other examples, just let me know the timestamp and I'll have a look.
@@Pixelcave I want to thank you for your response and help on this. I've struggled dearly trying to get that decorated "look" for quite a while.
swedish 100%
Close but incorrect 😄
Please. At least make some foods and clutter under a ward. Folks accidently take decor.
