This is definitely a top 5 fight for death battle. I've been watching death battle since day 1 and while there's a lot of good fights, there has been some amazing fights. This is up there with the amazing fights because of how detailed the animation was for this fight and how they made this universal between bowser and Eggman.
What makes this battle so good, is that both sides could easily be debated for winning. And they did their research pretty dang well, as even the footnotes explain how certain scenarios would play out, like the Pure Hearts from Super Paper Mario being able to undo any time shenanigans the Time Eater does. This was a REALLY close battle
Yeah, the debates leading up to it were heated, anyone who says this isn’t a close fight is just wrong, both can scaled to be on par with each other, and both had powers that counter each other. They are really dead EVEN. If anything I see why people may disagree with it, but personally, I would agree with DB here Besides physical stat I would say that tie, and Bowser only cause of Power and army, cuz of a war of attrition, as both start lose items or valuable members, Bowser still alot his abilties and resistences in his base and items to revive fallen members. Better item steal and clone as Eggman can do the same but item steal card are fininte and dark cho require getting up close to the foe and with cloning he requires getting The dna of something to Efficiently clone something which Bowser Does not have these Limitations for both of these. and with Army Eggman army don’t work as team and don’t get any benifit working together compared to bowser where formation and power grant widespread buff to the team and debuff to the enemey. along with heath items and move, means even if both army are creating endless wave of troops to throw at eachother, Bowser side will be maintaining it health. and maybe slight edge on trump card since from what i seen Eggman only has one possible counter to Wonder Flower using the Extractor from lost world, but it just one Counter that he can easly lose if gets destroyed, and even if succesful, Wonderful flower isn’t a rare one of a kind item like dreamstone or star rod but very plentiful meaning Bowser can just easliy pop and use another one.
@@spinozilla2421 Yea, Eggman using technology is probably his biggest weakness. Since most of the Mario cast use magic like King Boo, Kamek, and the Koopalings. Because if they get hurt, they can still use their magic. If Eggman’s mech(s) get damaged, it’s prone to malfunctioning or even being put out of commission. Plus some of Eggman’s feats like mind control or duplication aren’t usually in the same mech/device, which doesn’t help his case either
Technically, and in my opinion, there was a point where Eggman *could*; have removed Bowser's Army from the equation. And that point is when he unleashed Infinite on his enemies. Sadly for the Mad Scientist, Infinite is a sadist that play with his food: instead of something that yes, Bowser and some of his could have tanked but the rest of the army NOT; like, for example, "Suddenly Fake Sun in your midst!", Infinite monologued and used an "Increased Gravity" attack that yes, removed two of the King titled minions (King Goomba and King Bob-omb) plus some mooks... and gave enough time for the rest to brace and for Bowser to shield them via magic. Add Bowser deciding to destroy the Phantom Ruby instead of trying to use it (so no Super Eggman nor Nightmare Eggman power-ups) and the weight on the scale started to tip on Bowser's favour.
@xdrakon8196 And to make matters worse for Egg Man is he is a horrible leader, even when it's just his bots, he always goes with the simple strategy of just keep throwing robots at the enemy until he wins. There's little to no coordination between the badniks, it usually always falls to Metal Sonic or Sage to accomplish the few wins he gets or Sonic himself when he is forced to team up with the speedster
