    Really appreciate this video, even though it’s 4 years old. I just bought a Taycan 4 Cross Turismo. I know it’s not the fastest Taycan like Turbo S, but it’s such a joy to drive. This is the 4th Porsche I owned. The first 3 were all ICE cars. And just like the ICE Porsches, this car feels balance and well engineered. Amazing quality too!

    Good video. Recently I can hear water flow sounds come from the bottom of my taycan when the car is moving slowly. What do you think which part of the car most possibly to contain and trapped the water? Thank you

    Great content but I found the use of a single mic passing back and forth distracting. The conversation could have been more fluid if each person had their own mics, like Lavalier lapel mics for example.

    lol, after reading all those 3mm battery dent cases requiring 50k $ repairs, this video becomes much more interesting :))))

    in case a cell goes bad and can be replaced that is VERY good. I'm not gonna swap the whole damn battery for one issue thats not economical.

    As someone who's spent years racing radio control cars with Lithium batteries inside, I'm terrified of these things, I just don't see how you can make a Lithium battery car safe on impact, as soon as you crack a cell you have air which equates to fire.
    Petrol doesn't ignite without spark.
    I'd love someone with more experience around this to explain to me how they're going to stop this from happening, or is it just the case of if you hit something hard enough, you will burn to death?

      if you hit something hard enough, a fire is not your biggest problem, rather a mercy.

    Lots of Taycan battery failures. Porsche looks to be covering up design flaw.

    High voltage cables right behind the front tire, protected only by fender liners. Air tank on the lowest part of the chassis, right next to an equally ill placed air pump. This car is also exceedingly heavy even compared to the Model S, I don't think this car will do well.

      Those cables are for charing, hence not active/live during driving. So even if you damage them during a crash, there is no harm.

    Also those front HV cables that run from the RH charge port... They are running over a stud and over time will chafe through the insulation.... DFMEA not done right. :facepalm:

    You don't need camber adjustment lol... So you just replace suspension parts anytime you hit a pothole. How very German of you.

    Not impressed, having worked on Teslas for many years... I can now appreciate the time and engineering that went into designing the vehicle. Having the air tank and that Wabco compressor in that location is going to be problem for wet weather areas....

    • @danharrigan8880
      @danharrigan8880 5 лет назад

      It seems like legacy manufacturers go out of their way to make EVs more complicated than they need to be. My Tesla seems so simplistic from a mechanical point of view.

    • @dasteknoviking
      @dasteknoviking 5 лет назад +1

      @@danharrigan8880 making them simple lowers warranty costs and makes them easier to manufacture. There always is a bit of a disconnect between the service/manufacturing and design engineers. Leave it to the Germans to try to re-engineer everything so it's harder to service and costlier to the customers.... Smh

    As a Porschefile, I saw the Porsche Taycan Turbo (charge the Turbo name, please Porsche). I looked and sat in the Taycan and I thought the build quality was very poor and the interior was lack luster plus the seats in a $167,000 Porsche should not feel like seats from a 1998 Audi A4. I dont see the Taycan Program lasting very long til it gets dropped from production.
