    First time I've seen a preset tailor-made for dream pop lol (nvm it should be Dry Pop, just noticed that on the preset list). Seems like an interesting plugin, especially the option to choose the level of detail in the sound engine, which might help mitigate performance issues when I produce on my shabby laptop

      Thanks for watching. whats funny is the preset is actually called "Dry Pop"...but there is a preset right above or below it with the word "dream" in it, and i didnt realize till after uploading that i misnamed it. haha. but yes, it should run fine on most laptops....really if latency is not a concern, most plugins should be fine if you just raise your buffer size.

      What is your module? If its like my Roland TD17, you can pick a module kit preset -- like some kit you dont use much -- go to that kit on your module, then go to your MIDI settings and just change the MIDI for each of your kit pieces so they match the BFD Player map preset thats closest to you. On the TD17, each module kit preset has MIDI mapping that can be changed independently of the other kits. Does that make sense? I hope it does.
      You could also use a DAW, like Reaper (free to try for a long time) and use a MIDI plugin to simply convert one midi note to another.

    Im struggling with BFD3. I’m connecting my Alesis directly using usb cable to my pc but sadly dealing with a delay that makes it unplayable. Any way to fix this ? An audio interface might work?
    Also have downloaded the ASIO driver.

    • @eDrumsandVSTs
      @eDrumsandVSTs  3 месяца назад

      An audio interface that comes with ASIO drivers will always be the top choice, but you may not need it. When you say you downloaded asio drivers, do you mean ASIO4all? are you using it standalone or in a DAW?
      Make sure to go to your DAW's audio settings and make sure your audio device for output (and input if you like) is set properly to that ASIO driver/device. If you leave it default, it might be the standard windows sound device which will be laggy. If you use BFD Player in standalone mode, click the little gear icon on bottom right of the window and make sure the audio device is set to the ASIO driver.
      Lastly, if you use ASIO4all, open the ASIO4all settings and make sure it is sending the output to your speakers and that the buffer size is as low as you can go until you start to hear pops and crackles when you lay. Usually a buffer size of 64-128 will be fine and little to no noticeable latency.

    Hey, thanks so much for this demo! I recently downloaded this free plug-in and then purchased the add-on for the 70s kits. Are the kits I just purchased playable within version 3?
    I’m asking because, so far I’m digging it. And there’s an offer for a BFD3. Being that you have it, do you think it’s worth getting? It seems that this free plug-in maybe even slightly more advanced in small ways.
    I also read a post that there’s a version 4 possibly on the way.
    Since we are in the season of GAS, I’m trying to maximize my dollar across-the-board. 😢

    • @eDrumsandVSTs
      @eDrumsandVSTs  10 месяцев назад +1

      LOL yes GAS for certain. Like another guy said on a video, it's like collecting pokemon cards or collecting something else. It becomes its own hobby in itself.
      As for your question: the installer file structure for the BFD Player and the installer structure for BFD3 stuff looks extremely similar, but I cannot find a definitive "yes" or "no" on inter-changeability etc. I'm assuming a NO on being able to interchange player/BFD3 expansions. But I do not know 100%.
      Would I recommend BFD3? 100% yes, with caveats. BFD3 and SD3 are the cream of the crop as far as realism go, particularly certain libraries (that applies to both sd3 and bfd3), although both sd3 and bfd3 have good core libraries.
      Some people don't like BFD3's parent company's method for authentication. The software will re-authorize once every 90s or so, and there have been some who have issues with authorization servers. It drove some people away from BFD3, but many people dont have issues and are totally fine. It's odd.
      Anyway, sorry for the full-novel-length response! I could talk this stuff all day.

      @@eDrumsandVSTs All good. I think you may have matched my novel. 😂Seriously, GAS is no joke! You really helped. 🙏
      I did notice the install was a little strange for me. Some companies have nailed this others take a backseat to it. For me… The overall experience of getting and using the product matters greatly. But no question, this is a good product once it’s up and running.
      Now, it’s decisions, decisions, decisions. Thanks again bro. You rule!

    • @eDrumsandVSTs
      @eDrumsandVSTs  10 месяцев назад

      @@Tyrell_Corp2019 Im glad I could help, and your watching and kind words mean a bunch to me, so thank you as well.
      Yes, BFD's setup and authorization process can be different and, for some, can cause headaches. I like to think that SD3 and BFD3 are the top of the game for realism, but BFD3 is like a car that needs some restoration but ends up being an awesome car; and SD3 costs more and is already brand new. Again, it's all about which expansions you get, but thats my analogy.
      By the way, I listened to a couple of your songs -- you have some great character in your vocals and lyrics, and your voice in particular is bob dylan like. Maybe some new drum stuff, like you're considering, will take it to another level.

      @eDrumsandVSTs  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there, thanks for watching. What I would do, at least until BFD Player is updated to allow MIDI Learn options...
      I would pick a preset that is as close as possible. Then use a plugin such as NoteMapper from a developer named CodeFN42, which is free. Use that to remap your module's MIDI notes to the MIDI notes that BFD is expecting for each sound. FOr instance, if your module outputs MIDI note D2 for the kick drum and BFD Player is expecting C1 for the kick drum, use NoteMapper to convert your D2 to C1. See my video on my channel titled "Make your eDrum HiHat Work with Any Drum Plugin" for an example of how to use that free plugin.
      Other options include using a MIDI converter plugin from your DAW, such as Reaper or Ableton or Cubase.

      The free library from BFD Player is about 5 GB. Each expansion is about 3-5 GB

      @@eDrumsandVSTs yesterday I was trying to unload...the core library and the mahogany and it took me 30 gb.
      Crazy!! Maybe something wrong. I deleted completely and now I can't delete it from my apps .
      Anyway. I have a Mac computer. Maybe some problems there.i am not sure. So disappointing??
      Question..is there a way to record bfd on garageband?

      @@pablohu6935 I was wrong about the mahogany -- its 12 GB. But that 12 gb plus the five gigs from the free lib, should only be about 17. But maybe you kept the installation files perhaps? Im not sure if garageband can run BFD Player...i dont think it can run many typical VST plugins. Reaper is a free DAW you can try
