  • Mini boomflare tutorial. Full version will be at schoolofscratch.com
    This is my process of learning scratches in pretty much real time with a few mistakes cut out just to keep it short for you.
    Thanks to Rob D on RUclips for breaking it down in his tutorial, SoS members Delaney for requesting I create a tutorial and Thomas for breaking it down too.
    Full tutorial is in the works for all SoS members, with the usual overhead view, full and complete breakdown including timings over a beat plus the usual QnA so you can practice with me. Comments welcome.
    Note - my diagram has more than 12 sounds pictured, ignore those.

    Hey, Short e thanks for the shout out and teaching me so much, SOS iz da 💣. I'm a day one member and when I first started the flare was so hard for me.I'm still leaning and there is a lifetime of content already in the school. When I have trouble with a new scratch I practice it deliberately then before I know Boom. But I still can't take the pause out the beginning. I will though thanks. stay awesome. Delaney.

    I’m doing this now and the count is weird. But I’m glad you are hamster so I don’t have to do mental gymnastics while watching someone else lol

      it is weird! It is called cross rhythm timing as the sounds dont divide neatly into 4/4 time signature. Go slow and you will get it!

    ¿Hay manera de hacerlo con un controlador?

    • @studioscratches
      @studioscratches  8 лет назад

      +Criss “Cyber” Fri. you can use a controller yes. The platters don;t spin but you can get a similar effect.

      +Oskar Bravo Hey Oskar. Its totally doable for sure! Just need a lighter touch which is actually great training. At some point you might want to get a full setup. Its a low cost way to get started though and if you do love it and end up with a full setup, the portable is so much fun still. I love mine and use it to work out tutorials and scratches when I want to chill.
