The muslims intention of eating eggs in the morning is not a religious one, and is not for shirk, obviously. However, getting married is with a religious intention, obviously. Therefore if you prescribe an action to your religious intention that is not of islam, but infact imitates the kufaar, then obviously this is haram.
This is basic and pretty easy to understand. Unfortunately this educated brother is missimg the wisdom or courage to prescribe the truth of the matter. May allah guide him and save others from misguidance.

Actually, you are missing the wisdom to understand what the educated brother said. You would have understood the explanation if you were listening to him to understand, and not just listening to respond. Please, listen again to what he said.
May Allah grant you guidance, wisdom, and the humility to understand the truth of the matter as explained by the brother.

You forgot one very important thing mufti and the only important thing is WHAT DOES ALLAH SAY IN THE QURAN? Allah says how to get married and no mention of rings? So it’s not important for us Muslims to wear rings in marriage, everyone knows including Allah that you’re married so you don’t need a ring for that in Islam and if someone wants to know just say I’m married and that’s it simple! And if something is not in the Quran then use your rational thinking.
Allah always has the last say in everything so read the Quran to find your answer.
I’m just a layman but i read the Quran only and all your answers are in the Quran.
The prophet (pbuh) didn’t have a ring why should you?

As salamu alaikum, the Prophet PBUH did have a iron ring . He wore it on his right hand . If you only read the Quran InshaAllah Taa'ala than how would u know if the Nabi had a ring or not ? May Allah Taa'ala suffice Ameen
