Nice video. I am 4'11 and slim. I learned a lot from my mother who was petite. She wore good quality clothing, small jewelry, pearls, carried smaller bag and medium heels. Love any tips for styling to look taller. Please do more videos like this one.

Well this was just fantastic. At 4'10.5", I have just begun, within the past year due to ~reasons~, found the time and desire to really dig deep and start to build my wardrobe in a way that really communicates who I am and how I wish to be perceived and it is SO MUCH FUN!! Fantastic piece, Audrey. Many thanks!! 💖

I always feel like im being lulled into slumber when you talk. but when you're talking about fashion i just cant get the eye-shut. Your tips are so practical and smart.
I am 5'2" and am short-waisted and have short legs. But I have found that certain jeans fit better if I buy regular misses and hem them rather than buying them in petite. Now that the dressing rooms have re-opened, I say try on both the misses and petites & then decide which is more flattering.
@@notaclue822 Misses sizing is just regular women's sizes, not petite, not tall. I am an apple so I usually look better in straight leg jeans but do have several pairs of skinny ones.
I am also petite (5'1"), and I follow quite a few of these tips. They've helped me develop a curated wardrobe that I love. Inspired to explore this topic further on my channel as well. Thank you!
I utilize all of these hacks. As a 68 yr. old very short 4’10”, leaning towards an apple shape petite girl, clothes present a real challenge to reflect style, elegance, and beauty. A tailor is definitely a must for me, as very rarely do I find that piece that fits me perfectly and flattering in every detail. Although I do dress somewhat conservative (jeans, crop top or button shirt, blazer, and tiny ballet flats), I often step out of the box with a more expressive and creative look. I love wide belts, ripped jean jackets, Doc Martin boots, funky vintage finds, and men’s sport jackets. My daily fashion is always planned out according to weather and activities, and what I want to project. I dress often to create or express a mood I want to reflect outwardly. If I wake up feeling a bit low or riddled with pain or discomfort, I know I need to select an outfit that is fun, artistic, expressive, and takes me into a completely different mindset…it’s amazing how clothing can change the way you feel and carry yourself through the day! For me, it’s therapy!
thank you so much for mentioning right away that petite refers to height! I get so frustrated with people saying brands only carry "petite" sizes when they mean sizes 0-8 or whatever. Anyone could be a petite size- I'm certain there are size 16+ Petites and it's actually not at all easy to find the right petite sizes so I hate when people refer to standard/avg sizes as not inclusive and petite.
I liked the fact that you said look at people that look like yourself. I always do this and I only look at people that are my colouring and my hight, especially on websites if I want to buy something. I am not petite and so it's easy for me because models are tall and so am I. It works especially well with colouring. Xx
More videos on petite styling would be very welcome, Audrey. Would you consider doing a vlog on a typical day in your life? Would also love a tour of your home. It looks so beautiful. Love your content always.❤️
i love all your suggestions especially since I am petite at 5 ft. its always been a struggle finding things that fit. Even more so now since a lot of stores are eliminating their petite section. You always look well put together and your clothing looks well proportioned. I hope I'll be able to do the same.
Audrey, you are like a virtual friend we love! Your style is simple but intentional and your content is so creative! Most of all, you are one of the most relatable influencer who has a unique sense of style. Most of the others dress all the same.
I’m petite 5’ 2’’, 59 years old. I follow you since 2022 and I really enjoy your videos. You are so classy, your voice is so sweet. Thank you for your videos.
I wish I learned earlier in life that being 5’3” and wearing shoes with heels that I’m not comfortable in or hurt or that I can’t dance in at a wedding just makes me a short person who can’t walk well. 😂 Once I started wearing flats or at least just a reasonable heel and shoes I could walk confidently in did I start enjoying fancy social occasions. No heels can make me a tall person, so I just stopped buying them and went with who I am.
I’m 4’11” and came to the same conclusion after many years of wearing heels ruined my feet. I once could easily walk in them, even run, but now feel pain from the moment I put them on. All styles, all brands, ...even heels from good quality “comfort” brands. No one looks their best when pain shows on their face, so what’s the point? I love curating my style -it’s fun!- but there’s a limit. People can accept me as the tiny person I am, or not. I no longer care what others think; I just please myself.
Not all heels are uncomfortable & hard to walk in. The key is that you need to try on many shoes and walk around the store with them on ... until you find a comfortable shoe. Going with a thicker heel or a wedge shoe or sandal with a heel height of 2-1/2 inches or lower tend to be more comfortable.
High heels will work better on women with large feet. I’m 5 foot two, I like kitten heels, open toe sling pumps, graceful, comfortable and I can walk and even dance with confidence.
Dear Audrey, I discovered your channel just a few months ago and have learned so much from you already. suppose it’s never too late to learn. I’m 66 years old 5’2 And weigh 118 pounds. I also love oversized clothes but had been wearing them the wrong way. Thank you for all your great tips
Hi Audrey. I am not petit or have long legs or thin but a love your videos. You have taught me so much about finding your style and leaning in to your positive traits. I now understand what makes me feel like me and feel much better about my clothing as I lose weight and get healthier. Lucky for me my mother taught me to sew and I can tailor my clothing as I shed pounds and feel good about my clothing at every point of my journey. Thank you for your inspiration and positive, calm energy.
If you can learn to sew, do so. You can't always find a taylor and being able to do your own is sometimes the only answer. I shorten tops and sleeves a lot and hem pants.
I’m 5’5”, but I find tips for petite dressing useful at times. Usually pant lengths are fine for me, but I’m short-waisted. Using tips for petites on my upper body helps me keep my clothes in proper proportion. I have definitely bought sized-up petite jackets before to accommodate my wide shoulders while avoiding the sleeves being too long. My MIL taught me this and it really opened my eyes to how rigid my ideas about sizing had been. (And she’s 5’8”!)
Thank you so much for this video!!!! I have a lot of skinny formal pants that I was going to get rid of because I just got tired of looking tiny overall when worn with a fitted shirt. The tip on pairing it with an oversized shirt is so good! I already enjoy pairing fitted blouses with wide legged/oversized pants so this makes a lot of sense!
I stumbled across the fact that short-sleeved tops in petite fit me wonderfully, even though I'm 5'8" due to my short torso, just a few years ago. They hit at just the right spot on my waist, and overall, just such a flattering look.
I loved this video so much. It opened my eyes to proportions when you gave the example of the handbags 👜 and just how “right” the smaller one looks with your petite frame. I’m exactly your height and measurements but have always carried a medium size bag. Now I definitely need to reconsider this. Thank you, as always a beautiful video.
I'm 5'2" with long arms and legs. Or as someone once said, I'm a mix of short and long parts... LOL So for me, petite sizes work best on sleeveless or short sleeve tops and dresses. Thank you for the inspiration!
I loved that taking photos of yourself was a suggestion. I recently started documenting my outfits on for this very reason. I realized I have plenty of clothes that fit me well and have been tailored to me but that I just don't quite know how to put it all together. Taking an outfit photo has been an incredible learning experience for me. So glad you mentioned it and that I'm not alone in finding this practice helpful. It was a bit weird to do at first though. :) great video as always!!!
Just starting the vid so im not sure if audrey mentioned this, but I'm 155 cm (5'2") and I'd just like to share a tip. I only really wear skirts and dresses, and I recently discovered that midi h-line skirts make me look taller :) perhaps something about emphasizing the vertical line of the body
Great tips, Audrey. I'm 5'1" and, like you, wear petite sizes in my tops and jackets, but misses sizes in my pants since I'm short-waisted. Love your blouse! I'm a romantic style so love anything with lace.
@@digitallocations1423 Check out your local sewing shop and get their advice and compare the prices. They don't cost a lot these days, but beware of getting Walmart models. They're notorious for being so cheap that they cause frustration soon after purchase.
I am 5ft and your tips and way of presenting them are always an inspiring experience. May I also say that the blouse you are wearing is exceptional on you; a far cry from the usual more shirt and blazer you wear. It is so more in tune with how you appear to be...graceful, soft spoken, gentle. This blouse speaks on your behalf. Love it! Namaste 🙏
I am so happy I found your channel! I am 5'1" and always struggle finding styles that fit. I always see clothes on models that look nice but when I get them, they just don't look right LOL. I can't wait to see more videos from you to help me with more fashion tips to feel fabulous! :)
I love your first outfit in this video, as well as your hair, elephant buckle, and jewelry. It's a new twist on your usual style--and fun and unique and classy. Love your sweet personality, voice, and great tips. I am 5'5" but these tips still help me. Regular clothes are usually too long, even for me! Thank you!
Thank you for your video. As a 5’2” petite women I find it difficult to find RM clothes that fit. I do sew, so making my own clothes as been wonderful when it comes to fit. I love your style!
Hi, Audrey. First of all, you are gorgeous. I love all your videos and the style tips you share for petite women. I’m petite myself and always struggle to find the right size of blazer for myself. It would be wonderful if you could make a video on how to choose the right blazer to look classy. Being petite, my shoulders are narrow and my bust is heavy so it’s difficult to find the right blazer and I love wearing blazers. Thank you Audrey! 💝
When the average height of women around the world is 5ft 3in, why do we call women who are 5’ 4” petite? 🤔 even in the US, average height of women is 5’ 4”.
I'm 5' 3" and I've been called "the tall one" my whole life. Lately I've seen some videos that say that you're pettite if you're below 5' 4". I'm confused 😕
Exactly! It's a fashion industry bias. The average woman is 5'4" in the US, but the average fit model (used by brands to scale clothing) is 5'7". Petites represent HALF of female consumers, and yet there's a tiny fraction of clothing available in our size. It's so frustrating.
The fashion industry drives me nuts! "Petite" should be a "normal" size that is offered everywhere - I will say that *some* but not all brands are offering actual lengths that are good for someone who is 5"0' - I recently purchased high rise jeans from Abercrombie & Fitch and they fit like real jeans are supposed to (they have a wide array of inseams 👏❤❤) - they are not just cropped jeans for someone over 5"4".
Exactly....m 5.4 and I never have to alter the length of jeans.....so does that mean m Petite?...so m I wearing petite section jeans?....😂😂....m so confused...!!!
Thank you for sharing tips on looking proportional and tailored rather than the "how to look taller" advice we see all too often. I'm 4'10.5". I'm not ever going to look tall, and why should it be my Holy Grail anyway? Yes, let's lean into what makes us unique. By the way, the most closet-changing tip I ever got was to wear higher armholes. It completely changes the silhouette and is far more flattering on a short frame.
I am 5'2" , curvy, but not short waisted. So, I don't wear "petite sized" dresses. My style is fitted clothing (not tight) and not over-sized bulky clothing that makes me look like I am "swimming" in my clothing. I still enjoy wearing heels for a dressier look as they make my legs look longer and more attractive. For me, finding decent fitting dresses is really difficult; as said I am not short waisted. A lot of dresses are so very long and maxi/midi dresses are not my style anyway. I have also found stores are eliminating their petite section too. Excellent tips in this video.
I'm loving these tips. I'm planning to get into part time modelling and this is taking my career a notch higher. Thanks Audrey. This is my first video of yours...gonna binge watch your videos this evening. ( I'm 5'4")
Interested in anything about petite dressing. I'm 5'2 and slim but with reasonably solid (as my friend says 'athletic') legs! My best area is upper body and I particularly like my shoulder area. Loved your outfit in the video today. 😀
Hi Audrey, you look very natural with your stylish outfits, love your voice & smile. Thank you so much for making this type of useful videos. Can't wait to learn more from you.
Really liked this video, thank you for sharing. I'm petit but also curvy, meaning I'm non-existent for the fashion industry. Petit sizes are only for small-framed people, while petit AND also fat is a combination that does exist, but the industry has decided to ignore. With this being said, I have to be very creative to find flattering styles and to find clothing that does fit me. Most of the times, tailoring and identifying certain shapes and figures on regular size clothing has helped me. But it is definitely a challenge and very frustrating at times.
Love petite videos! I am 5'1-1/2 (lets be honest) and quite thin, around 90 lbs. Very hard for me to find stuff that fits, I live at the tailor's and shop in the kids section often! So keep suggestions coming!

Once again, well researched and practical information. Thank you. You look absolutely gorgeous in your beautiful crisp white blouse with navy bottoms and the stunning statement elephant belt buckle Audrey. 😃🤍💙
This is very good. I’m 5’3” and like you long legged and short torso. One of my issues is finding earrings which are not huge for my frame. It seems the large earrings just make me look like a little girl playing ‘dress up’ with her mother’s jewelry, I’d love to hear more about find accessories for petites. Also I would love to hear more about shoes for petites. The super high heels of current fashion, I feel, also look odd on a petite women. To me the heels on a larger frame woman helps her to look soft and curvy, but on my little frame I think I just look wobbly and odd.
Great ideas! I'm petite with longer torso and shorter legs. Would totally prefer the opposite, as in your proportions!! Cropped tops do not work for me, but cropped high waisted pants do lol. Heels would be great, but my feet say no!
@@sheelaghhalstead4549 Yes, this can happen to me with a wider leg crop, which I need to avoid. Closer fit works better for my petite, short legs/longer torso. I'm 5'2". Also, regular (not petite) crops seem to be the perfect length on me without the too short rise :)

May I also say that the blouse you are wearing is exceptional on you; a far cry from the usual more shirt and blazer you wear. It is so more in tune with how you appear to be...graceful, soft spoken, gentle. This blouse speaks on your behalf. Love it! Namaste 🙏
You’re the epitome of class, I love your videos and take your advice when I can.
Thank you!
What a spectacular white lace / cutout blouse you're wearing. You look fantastic in it.
Enjoyed this very much! Wanted more on this video, esp focusing on casual work outfits on warmer climates 😊
Lady Elegance comes out with a new video, I watch while sipping Colombian coffee… perfect Sunday morning. Thank you Audrey, I love your tips♥️
You look much taller! I never realized you were petit! Very helpful advises! Monochromatic also works!
Thank you for your video. As a 5’2” petite women I find it difficult to find RM clothes that fit. I do sew, so making my own clothes as been wonderful when it comes to fit. I love your style!
Perception is everything!
Impressive !!love your voice, so soothing and calming throughout the video.
Love, Love your channel Audrey! You are such a gracious hostess and your style journey has been AMAZING!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
🥰❤️❤️
Yes, "Gracious" is the word for how I see Audrey the first time.
Altough I am tall, I find this video very interesting ! Greetings from Paris
Every single outfit in this video is stunning on you!
I appreciate this info, and would love to hear more petite- focused fashion tips!
Que bien explicado. Gracias! Que linda personalidad. Felicidades. Soy una señora de 55 años, pero me ha ayudado mucho.
Love your presentation and your calming voice
I was thinking the same thing
Wow! That blouse is a statement piece and the combination of white/black on you really brings out the best! Always love your videos. ♥️
Yes! Love this topic. The minutia of styling. More please.
I'm short but hardly "petite". Your clarification again makes me feel a bit better.
Love the blouse and elephant belt combo Audrey!
Love your classic style .... very beautiful
Tienes una voz que genera la sensación de tranquilidad, muchas gracias por cada consejo y aún más, por permitir que los que hablamos español podamos ver tus videos con subtítulos. Un abrazo
Thank you. I always learn so much from you. I appreciate your content very much. Your style is impeccable.
I really really love listening to your voice. It's so soothing and calming. 😊
😍😍😍😍those black sling back shoes. So elegant ❤️❤️❤️
I just found your videos. Love you style. Elegant and very classic. Well done.
Once again, well researched and practical information. Thank you. You look absolutely gorgeous in your beautiful crisp white blouse with navy bottoms and the stunning statement elephant belt buckle Audrey. 😃🤍💙
Your outfit in this video is perfection!
Really appreciate how many example outfits you show!
I'm much the same prortions but cropped pants look stupid on me. Legs too heavy as if they took normal legs and squeezed them into shorter version.
As a 5’3 (almost) I really enjoyed this video and love how you present the information. ❤️
I’m 5’7” but I clicked the video because the outfit in the thumbnail was awesome. Great outfits 🙂.
I was hoping the belt you’re wearing was accessible! It’s STUNNING 😍
Much needed video, it is a life saver
Audrey I was watching some of your older videos and I have to say this looser, volumized hair you’ve been rocking suits you soooo well! It looks perfect on you! 👌
Love the outfit you’re hosting with today!! Enjoy your videos so much..
Thankyou Audrey for a great video on petites, please make more!
I also wanted to say that I love your voice and the way you speak, it is so soothing and relaxing! :)
Really love and appreciate your videos. And I love that you have upped your fashion choices. You are current, but still classic in the most elegant way.
