Man, I'll never get over how well Kaneko's demon/human designs work in 3D and how well DDS' visuals hold up today. Just goes to show that well-done stylized graphics age a hell of a lot better than graphics striving for realism.

Y'know, despite the fact that the opening of DDS shows him with a rifle, the Serph in this intro really shows why he is the leader of Embryon. He doesn't need large guns to show why he kicks ass.

Talking about this series with friends. I haven't played these games since they first came out, but I still have this song on my iPod well over a decade later. What an absolute masterpiece.
This song is now on Spotify, and I had to re-listen to this banger again. I loved this game when I played it back in high school. It was like 2018 (very late ik i was getting into smt).
Note: There's actually a bit of a quirk in DDS2 about maxing stats early. Later in the game, you get Sera for the time when Serph temporarily leaves, but Sera distributes her stats pretty randomly. In addition, for the last dungeon, you get a final character that combines Sera and Serph's stats, but he's still limited by maximums, meaning that it's not optimum for the last dungeon to have both Sera and Serph have over 50 in one stat. But it's not very important.
Awesome MasterLL you're doing DD2. And of course you'll have everything including better quality compared to what's out there. I really wanted to see the follow up since the first game was soo good.

So what is up with the cat? I noticed it is not in the persona series but it is in the Devil summoner Raidou series. Are igor and the cat related someway in the series overall. I also can't remember if I saw it in the Nocturne game. Yes I am one of the fans who came in on persona but love the SMT series in general now.

Also, there's rings, so stat specialization isn't AS important in this game as it was last game, although it still helps a helluvalot. Also helps that learning mantras are much less linear (for example, learning Force mantras happens to also intersect with Physicals at quite a few points), so it's easier to make more balanced characters.

Well I figured I'd buy the Deluxe Box set of this game that carries DDS1 and 2, it was worth a lot of money. So I'll be tryin' this out, you got me hooked on yet another crazy game! Shame on ya! lol!

I think it doesn't hurt in normal difficulty . It may be more fun to play this game without any beforehand knowledge of the story progress. And one more thing, only the cutscenes that provide dialogue choices are unskippable.
Not trying to knock other posters, but from the ones I came across they were either poor quality, (like putting the camera in front of the TV), or posting either only cutscenes or battles. So it was difficult to figure out what event took place when. So I'm please that you managed to get a copy and were willing to post this. Oh and thanks to you I now am the proud owner of the OST. So I commend your effort posting the rest of the series. :)
I doubt it... I think Final Fantasy VIII intro...or Metal Gear Solid 3... and first Digital Devil Saga more interesting. If you want someting less popular, then how about Another World? The old game with vector graphics... or.... I just mean, there's alot of better openings, let's not call favorite intro the "best" I love DDS2 intro and FFXIII intro... but i do not call them best.

It's honestly surprising how well DDS, Raidou and Nocturne's art direction holds strong compared to games like Persona 3 and Persona 4.

DDS has honestly been my favorite even after playing other SMT and spinoffs. The only one to top my enjoyment of it so far is P5.

Noise hunting is a bit easier now. Party members give you noises from time to time and the customization/stats on the rings helps too.

Devil Summoner and DDS are considered separate franchises in Japan, believe it or not. The cats in each game has no relation between them.
