This is going to be so useful for where I live, man. My internet is good at work, but not home, so I'll be able to download Netflix shows onto my phone, and Dex them onto the screen to avoid dealing with the buffering. It was wild, I was even playing Castlevania on my phone with an Xbox controller, but on my TV through this tech.
This is flippin amazing. I'm starting to use it in place of my old Mac Mini. Using its Apple Magic 2 keboard & mouse w/ old trusty 30" Apple Cinema HD 1650p. I missed the prompt for use touchpad at 1st, but now I see it. Thankx!
Another tip for the touchpad: if you have a device with a pen like a note 10, you can use it to get around some touch screen inputs you otherwise can't. For example: Fortnite requires a "touch to continue " at the start that you cant press with a mouse or fingers on the touch pad but you can with the pen.
I haven't noticed any imput lag. It works as it should for what it's been designed for. It's more like when you doing a PPT presentation and don't have mouse with you. using trackpad to go through slides is quite useful tbh
Great video. I use a Baseus docking station connected to my TV to access DeX, so I can't use it, but useful information anyway. But I'm planning on picking up a portable monitor soon so I can get away from my TV, and that's when this will prove valuable to me. The problem with using DeX on a TV is that I have to be right in front of the TV to use it, because the font size of everything gets scaled way down to nothing, so it's hard to read anything from much more than maybe two or three feet away. Videos and movies look fantastic on it though. I'm not sure if I can use my phone as a track pad when it's in the dock, but I'll have to look into it later. I'm not sure why, but my suspicion for the text being miniscule when I dock it and connect to my TV is most likely just because that's how the docking station codes it. I can't see the TV doing that because it's only displaying whatever is fed into it, and since I know the text size is coded in a normal manner on my PC, the only thing left is the docking station. I'll find out for sure if I ever get around to picking up a portable monitor.
Once you connect your phone to USB-C hub and get DeX on external monitor, you will see option to turn phone in to touchpad. This works on all DeX compatible phones and tablets. Won't work on DeX on Windows for some reason.
@@MRPtech I always knew it was there, even on my docking station, but I never tried it. It turns out that even when the phone is docked in a cradle, you can still use it as a track pad. I didn't have a reason to try the keyboard it since it's docked, as long as it works like a mouse, it'll probably work as a keyboard too. I've had it connected to my PC a few times and it works great, but I didn't try to use the phone as a pad with it. It's odd that it won't work on Windows, but at the same time lol I'm not surprised.
Very good work!! Please continue making videos working with DeX because you're the best at this subject here on youtube. You dont imagine how much helpfull you have been. I need to replace my old laptop but I think I will not buy a new one. Thanks
I would like Samsung to have an option to make the entire phone screen become a keyboard. Reason, it is easy to carry around a Bluetooth mouse, than to travel with a keyboard.
i want to use mouse for my tv instead of touch pad. my mouse is wireless and when i connect little usb adapter nothing happens i can still control cursor with my touch pad but i cant with my mouse
@@MRPtech Yes, I can connect my phone to my pc and then the Dex is showing up on my monitor, but there's no notification on my phone that allows me to use my phone as a touch pad. Earlier, I already read in the FAQ's of the Samsung website that the touch pad on phone feature is not allowed when you use Dex on a pc.
@@noahcladeragarcia3104 I already figured it out. The touchpad feature isn't available when you use Dex on a PC. But if you have a dock which connects your phone directly to a monitor, the "Use your phone as touchpad" instantly shows up on the notification panel.

i think netflix's DRM wont let you do that. I tried it and it shows a black screen. Just like netflix doesnt allow you to take a screenshot
