The before and after images really demonstrate what can be accomplished with commitment and effort in a relatively short time. Amazing!
Thanks Stan. It's been hard work but sooo worth it! 😁
Everything looks lovely. You are so fortunate to have Richard to help you in the garden. Cannot wait to see the rose blooming and everything filled in. Have fun at the flower show.
Thanks so much! Yes, Richard can be helpful when he's not being annoying 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Annette. Wow, those obelisks are substantial and very apt for the position and purpose. What a great feature for your lovely garden. Well done to both of you, Richard is really getting involved so thanks to him for his help. If you keep up like this you'll have to start having open days with high teas. Well done, and as usual just seeing how happy it makes you really is infectious. X
Thank you so much Jimmy. I really do hope to be able to open the garden one day - it would be a dream to be able to share it and raise money for charity doing something I love 😊
Love the obelisks, the balance and symmetry in that garden is very appealing, can’t wait to see everything in bloom!
Thanks so much Andrea. I love them too! 😊
Stunning, the obelisks are so perfect for your beautiful garden.
Thanks so much Margaret 😊
I had a little giggle alongside you 😄 The obelisks are gorgeous and look beautiful in your garden.
😊 thank you Susie
The Obelisks are looking beautiful in your garden, such a great addition in your bed.
Thanks so much! 😊😀
The obelisks look wonderful. Putting in structures that give height as well as plant support always adds to a gardens character in my opinion. I have a very old, rustic stone cottage so my cottage garden tends to have woven willow supports
Thanks. Willow supports are lovely too but they might not last as long and I just needed something more permanent. 😊
Omg, these are just stunning Annette! And how wonderful to be able to see your ‘before’ photos too. The transformation is unreal!
Thank you so much Elie. It's good to look back occasionally and realise how far we've come because it's all too easy to forget! 😁
Annette they look so right and a joy to see you and your husband working as a team!! My husband doesn't read the instructions either.
🤣 Men...they're all the same! Glad you like them too - I'm overjoyed 😁
Wow! Annette you have really made an improvement in the garden since moving in. The obelisks are unique and I haven't seen any like that. A nice addition to your garden. Bonny
Thanks Bonny. It's been a lot of hard work but I'm starting to feel like we're making progress, especially when I look back at old photos!
Annette! You and Richard are hitting this garden out of the park! It is just looking more stunning by the day. Thanks for sharing💚
Wow, thanks AJ. That really does me so much to me. Thank you. 😊
Those obelisks are right out of my dreams too! I am thrilled for you. I am traveling to the UK this week and actually had about five mins to see if I could get them home to the US 😂😂😂Your garden is just stunning and the two of you crack me up.
Thanks so much - hope you have a lovely time here in UK (and the weather is kind 😂) xx
Wow Annette! I loved seeing the first garden pictures!!! It really was blank canvas. Love where y’all have taken the garden, I always enjoy watching and YES to the obelisk and yes to the “Royal We” Lol!❤❤😊😂
Thank you so much! 😊😁
These look terrific!
Thanks! 😊
Greeting's from Ireland, Love your garden, Roses and me don't get along the only rose in my garden is a very old peony rose no thorns great we get along. My mother is in her eighties and in her garden she has lot's of the thorny variety and I dread when I go to weed around them. There have been times where I thought Id end up in A&E.
Haha. I love roses, despite the thorns, although, in all honesty, I try to pick varieties with the least amount of thorns possible. The only exception I've made to this rule is for Harlow Carr because the fragrance is divine 🌹
I must say Annette you really know how to pick an obelisk for your garden, they are the most beautiful obelisks I have seen yet, the color is stunning. I absolutely love that ball on top, I cant wait to see those roses pop because the colors are going to be stunning.
Wow, thank you Jane. As soon as I saw these I knew that they would be perfect for our garden 😊
You have good taste A , in everything you choose apart from a tulip 😉 ❤ love to see your joy .
I bought a little wooden one and painted it white , I only snapped bottom rung pushing it into soil 😂. White gaffa tape fixed it . Added David Austin Albrighton rambler . I use that stinky manure pellets on roses 🌹.
Oh thank you! The Albrighton looks beautiful but ramblers scare me! I'm worried they will get too big and prickly 😁
Gosh theyre really beautiful! I wish i could do something like this is my garden. Ive gone a bit green with envy 🤣
Thanks Kathy - I still can't quite believe I have these in my garden!!
Oh Annette, blush noisette … I’m planting 3 of them shortly just opposite my 3 Ghislaine de feligonde. Love pastel colours. I only have heritage roses so far and I’m so pleased with their performance. Can’t wait to see which companion plants you have chosen 😊
Wonderful! We've both chosen a lovely rose!
Harrod horticulture items are proper pricey bits of kit.
Indeed, Karl. But I feel like they will last us a lifetime and they are stunning. 😊
@@cottoverdi yes definitely good enough to last a very long time. I recommend them to my clients all the time.
Simply stunning 🤩
Thank you Tina, we love them so much! 😊
Love the obelisks Annette and the rose is a perfect colour to compliment them. I have 3obelisks in my garden but at the moment I am debating what to plant against them. I quite fancy some clematis- thy see to do well in my garden, unlike roses- I have lost so many of my climbers. The bush roses seem to be fine- very odd! Happy gardening 🙂 x
Thanks Be. I feel so lucky to have them. They've changed the feel of the patio so much and it's just fabulous. I need more clematis in my life!
Have a great time at Chelsea ❤ Garden is looking great!
Thanks so much Jane 😊
Loved the video ty
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you 🌸😊
They look amazing. I can't wait to see the rest of the plants go in!
Me too!! Thank you ☺️
BGT are missing out on your entertaining vlogs - like the idea of planting scheme is it self designed or RHS based🥀🥀🥀🥀
So nice of you, thank you. I design them all myself 😊 I just choose plants that appeal to me and plan around that colour scheme, ensuring there are different heights and textures as much as possible. I have to adjust them quite often once they start filling in because I don’t always get it right first time 😂
Don’t see a link for the obelisks…(or maybe I’m blind…..)
I'm so sorry - I completely forgot to add it - I've updated the description so you should be able to see the link now. Apologies.
Can you let me know how I can get free obelisk as you did!
Sorry, Anthony, it wasn't free, but we did have a discount. Glad you liked them 😁
