- Listen to that! What a beauty this one was, 485 was my favourite out of the Ex Brighton & Hove lot we had, this run started in Estover as my duty ended there and the quickest way back to the depot was via the Novorossik road and the A38, which made for a great run in this 3 speed animal! Throughout the video you can hear the turbo screaming away multiple times which I could hear from the front!
Enjoy!

Now this is what I call proper driving it’s nice to sit at the back when the driver is licking proper speed hitting the corners 😆 Tridents are excellent buses and are so much like MCW metrobuses
Thank you for your kind words!
This is what I wanted to see, hellfire 😍
Sounds much older than it is when it slows down. It will have been registered somewhere in Lancashire judging by it's number plate.
I had NO IDEA these PK02s were 265bhp. Explains why they’re so fast, the ones I’ve been on certainly are!
Oh how I wish the lights were off or dimmed at night.
Such a beautiful machine 😍 littrealy music to my ears
Used to get this one and a few others on the 12/12B a few years back! With the right driver they shifted! Though 487 is forever in my bad books. It had a phase of blowing Oil and Fuel lines in Bude!
Haydon Beagley I’m not surprised really, these shouldn’t have ever gone on the 12/12B’s as they simply weren’t built for it :-(
Idk, they used to do quite well on 29s
Great video. ☺️
I really miss doing these runs, they were so good!
Best 3 speed trident I've seen tbh.. obviously prefer ZF tridents
Yeah I prefer the ZF’s too but this one was really impressive!
It really is! wouldn't mind getting it myself!
3 speed Euro 3 Tridents are quite rare Cummins engines don;t work well with 3 speed Voith's but as this has the 265bhp engine instead of the 220bhp one it's not bad. Imagine how quick it would be with a 5 speed ZF. It would leave many cars standing.
Euro III power outputs were 225 or 260bhp. Connex's Tridents for route 157, 211 and 344 were 260bhp on 5 speed ZF.
That’s what you call trident
Nice video! This sounds amazing!!! 😍
Could you tell me the whereabouts of the other ex Brighton Tridents at Plymouth please? I presume they’re no longer in fleet but don’t know what’s happened to them
Chiltern Transport Productions I think they were sold to a company called “Roselyn Coaches” in Cornwall.
All of them sold to Roselyn? Not just 485?
How do you find out the full vehicle specs?
Knowledge is power ;-) Nah I just research and then check the spec plates on the engine and gearboxes of each type of bus in our fleet :-)
ONLY 3 speeds?
7367Network Weird isn’t it
These were delivered brand new to B&H I think
TheIrish RoadSurfer New to Brighton & Hove as 870. In April 2001?!? That must be a mistake, surely they meant 2002?
Well anyway, that’s what BLOTW says and I did type in the original reg 485 was new as www.buslistsontheweb.co.uk
4 speed version started from late 52 reg
Does the bus have no lights lol
Not in service
@@jaggass Correct :-)
