- This is Dollywood's new production which has been produced to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Smoky Mountains National Park.
Some of the stars of the show are Kellye Pritchett who plays the "Granny", Drew Slice plays the "Father", Arnie Shaw plays the "Spirit of the Wind", Jonathan East plays James McMann, McKenzie Roberts shares the role of the little girl with three other girls, and then Brooke Cenicola who I don't think has a character description that I know of. And some of the acrobats are: Angela Butch, Jessica Krueger, Jake Turner, Clayton Reavis, Michael Reavis. and staring Scott Self as "the storyteller". Please comment if you know others seen here so that I can list them as well.
The show features 8 songs which were written for this production by Dolly Parton. The show was directed by John Dietrich. You can see a full recording that I made of the show in June on my Dollywoodshows youtube sight. I feel you should try to get to the park to see the full event! This showing was special as it was the first time it was shown as far as I know and was a special press viewing of the production. The full show runs about 40 minutes. Dolly comes out after the clips end and talks some about the show and sings one of the songs as she recorded it on her own CD which can be found at Dollywood.
I want to give a special thank you to a friend of mine who is Andy Rodgers. Andy was at this event and recorded the show and sent a copy to myself to share with everyone in this way.
Just so you know Dollywood has granted me permission to post on youtube the shows that are produced by the park.
I hope you enjoy this video I have shared and I hope you will make your way to Dollywood to see the full production. This is just one of the many great shows at the park. Dollywood will be running this event till the end of October and is open most days even in the spring and fall as well! (most of the cast listed is thanks to coconutUPbutt. She sent me the information listed)
I LOVED this show!!! It’s the only time I could afford to go to Dollywood!!
I saw this show on a visit to Dollywood 10 days ago as part of a 2 week holiday. The show was excellent and, as a British tourist, the Tennessee experience was wonderful and the people are all so nice
I grew up watching Scott Self on that stage since 1987. He's a Dollywood staple. I will never tire of hearing his deep, clear voice. He makes a great angel for the Christmas in the Smokies trio (Angel/Mary/Joseph), and I could not imagine a better "Spirit of the Smokies" person. Just amazing. Every show, he gives all his acknowledgement to God. EVERY SHOW.
This and dreamland drive-in were my two absolute most favorite shows at Dollywood
Saw this twice with the family. Great show!
We all appreciate your time and effort. Thanks again!
Excellent video! Thanks for posting, Bill.
I am just a fan of amusement park entertainment and I love to share my passion for this entertainment with as many as I can and I use this youtube sight as well as my Dollywoodshows sight to share them. I record them on my own and edit them together to provide these recordings. Dollywood has given me the ok to share the videos but they do not have anything to do with it. I SO WISH I could do this as my job some way. Maybe someday I will find that way. Glad you enjoy the recordings!
Thank you all for your great comments. I hope many may find there way to Dollywood this year to see their fantastic shows! They have so much to offer on top of great shows. Great food, Rides and crafts that can not be found at other parks. The park also has the finest staff I have ever seen at a local park. Most all of them love the park and its guests and they love their jobs. The park makes you feel like you are family. I love to place so much! Thank you Andy for the recording!

Just so ya know ... John Deitriech (sp) Directed Sha Kon O Hey! Paul T. Couch is the "Director of Entertainment" ... ie he's the Producer/Big Dog over ALL the shows at Dollywood.
i love her hair..wig.. in this one i love how its long she looks good with long wigs
@topazgirl72 The CD that Dolly put out with all the music she wrote for the show was I think under the name of Sha Kon O Hey. Anyway it is sold at Dollywood and I think you could order it direct from them if not from another dealer.
@ruaho99 I so agree, Scott is such a warm and caring person. Dollywood has such a talent in him and I am sure they know that. if you enjoy this video you can see the full show recording on my dollywoodshows sight. Thanks as always for the comments everyone!! Bill
At this point there has been no show announced that will replace this production. I hope that a new show will be produced for 2013. You can view the full show on my sight if you would enjoy it. Its produced from 3 camera locations. enter a search for Sha Kon O Hey 2011. That should bring it up for you,
Dude your good at this stuff! we need to meet one day or something lol!. i love dolly wood just like you do lol
My family loves this show. We listen to the CD at least once a week as we day dream about the next time we will be able to visit the Smoky Mountains. Is there any word on if a show will be replacing it yet or will the theater be sitting empty?
I posted a link to the video I made part one of the full show. Its not this great recording that you see here but one I recorded myself using my camera. Note that the full video is in 7 parts. You may rather wait to view it till you see if live! The view I made does not do that show justice but it does give you a view of it.

I actually downloaded your full version and put it on a DVD. My family and I are planning to watch it on our television together today. I am actually a video editor and wondering...if you did this on your own or if Dollywood asked you to do it? Either way...thank you so much! We are returning to the mountains in a few weeks and bringing both my parents and my wife's parents. This video is really going to get us in the mood!
Might you still have this file or dvd? I can't seem to find the full show any longer and miss it so much
