  • www.USCityTrave... - Discover the heart and soul of Sha-Kon-O-Hey! Land of Blue Smoke!-a show as big as the Great Smoky Mountains!
    Duration: 45 minutes
"Sha-Kon-O-Hey! Land of Blue Smoke captures the spirit of the Smoky Mountains and the rich heritage of the people who call them home. This production incorporates scenic elements and stage effects never before seen at Dollywood. Sha-Kon-O-Hey! Land of Blue Smoke takes audiences back to a time of great change in the Smoky Mountains in 1930s. In a musical journey guided by eight songs written by Dolly, a wizened storyteller guides a reluctant family as they bid farewell to the area that eventually becomes Great Smoky Mountains National Park . . . yet remains a place that lives forever in their hearts. Along the way, audiences meet the folks who inhabited this great land-the settlers, the rail and lumbermen, the Native Americans and the shiners. Come along as Dollywood pays tribute to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park."

The man's voice in most of this songs is none other than Scott Self, a dollywood vocal legend. From the angels voice in smokey mountain christmas to this production. I think he left for a position in his church. This was during the golden years of dollywood before they went corporate and downhill.

i was dissapointed after seeing this show at dollywood that they didnt offer a audio recording for sale of the man singing it who sang it during the show who i'm told was some relation/family member of dolly parton. the album they had for sale only had a version with dolly singing it, its still a great and amazing song and all but i prefer the version with the man's voice from the stage show.
