- the Classiic Statler and Waldorf Compilation Awesome
40 minutes of clips of the muppet shows greatest critics.
They are two disagreeable old men who first appeared in the television series The Muppet Show and heckled the rest of the cast from their balcony seats. They appeared in all but one episode of the show. In one episode, Waldorf appeared alone at the beginning, explaining that Statler was sick (of the show), and that Waldorf's wife would substitute. Her name turned out to be Astoria and she looked remarkably like Statler wearing a dress.
In The Muppet Show, the two were always trashing Fozzie Bear's humor, except for one occasion where Fozzie, with help from Bruce Forsyth, heckled them back. In contrast, they found themselves vastly entertaining and inevitably burst into mutual laughter at their own witticisms (though, they would, on several occasions, heckle each other, too). It is later revealed in the A Muppet Family Christmas special that the two hecklers were friends with Fozzie's mother, Emily Bear. Despite constantly complaining about the show and how terrible some acts were, they would always be back the following week in the best seats in the house. As to why, the original version of The Muppet Show theme song had Statler admitting, "I guess we'll never know."
They later appeared in Muppets Tonight watching on television from a retirement home.
They also had a penchant for breaking the fourth wall. At the end of one episode, they looked at the camera and asked "Why do you watch it?", and in another one, Statler stated that he didn't care for puppets much, not finding them believable.[1] Waldorf responded with "I don't believe you!"
Statler and Waldorf are named after two New York City hotels, the Statler Hilton and the Waldorf-Astoria.
"Wow, those guys are a real treasure."
"I agree, let's bury them."
These 2 pay for balcony seats every night for a show they hate, now that is a true dedication to trolling.
True
+Christian Guerrero The tickets are free
+Foodwarrior Because no-one would take them!
Doh! hohohohohohoho
+Foodwarrior Statler: I wouldn't say free, money IS being exchanged before each show...
Waldorf: Yeah; from them to us!
Both: DOHHOHOHOHO!!
Christian Guerrero it was probably insult this show or dodge frying pans back at home
These guys are the original trolls, course there is a major difference between them and most modern day trolls. Statler and Waldorf were actually good at it.
Their status as the original trolls can be challenged by the Frenchmen from Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Ok, how about more well known?
+James Beard thats what I call the meduim sketchthe meduim skech? yes it wasn't rare and it certianly wasn't well done
ohoohoohhhooho
Cheshire cat was the original troll
I have figured out why Statler and Waldorf keep coming back to the show. It's their only source of entertainment, they laugh at their own jokes at the Muppet's expense.
DOH HO HO HO HO HO HO!!!
BlazingShadowSword yup
Fozzie: "No heckling-I'm not even out here to tell jokes!"
Statler: "Have you ever been?"
I thought there was another bit with them saying, "That last number was a real showstopper." "Yeah, too bad it didn't stop this show!"
Oh yeah I remember that from when I watched the show as a kid. Hm...
There is more
FreihEitner DOH HOHOHOHOHO!
My dad used to call this the part of the show for the adults who watched it with their kids.
I'm 31 years old and still watching these guys in 2017.
You're never too old to like the muppets!
Waldorf: Hey, aren't we in the wrong place?
Statler: I wish we were, but there's the frog.
Well, at least the wife can make legs out of him when he's done!
"Can you believe we've been heckling these jokes for 40 years?"
"Oh, it's been a lot longer than that."
"No, I'm pretty sure this show's 40 years old."
"Yeah, but the jokes are even older."
"DOOOOOOOOOHOHOHOHOHO!"
Waldorf: can you believe the fans call us the original trolls?!
Statler: no I can’t.
Waldorf: why not?
Statler: they haven’t seen your wife!
Both: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
'what do you get when you cross the Atlantic with the Titanic? Half way..'
possibly the only Fozzie joke to be accepted by Waldorf.
nexgenhippy
I don't like that joke
"How come you two are still here? Did you lose your beds at the old fools home?"
This was great. It reminded me of my Dad. His favorite part of the Muppets was Staler and Waldorf. He was a NASA rocket engineer, he did emcee work on the side at KSC for retirement parties, Astronauts, etc. and used several of their lines.
Picture a man in his early 60's making a effort to watch a kid's show. The Muppets were something special for him.
Statler: "More more."
Waldorf: "Hey wait, look there is more."
Statler: "Oh good grief they heard me."
Cow: "Mooo!"
Waldorf: "No, BOOOO!"
Cow: "Boooooo!"
Statler: "Hooray!"
The original trolls. May we ever aspire to rise to their ranks.
+RaderizDorret thats insulting how dare you compare them to trolls. They were fine art critics. Such snobbery is far beyond trolling.
+Ben Hinman i don't know about that what they were heckling certainly was'int fine and it certainly was'int art. DOHOHOHOHOHOHO!
+RaderizDorret the only thing this comment aspires to rank is underarm deodorant dohohoho

Waldorf & Statler the coolest "old guys" with an awesome sense of sarcasm and wit! One of my favorite parts of the classic muppet show! Only wish I could have been in the balcony with them! 😊
1:25
I nearly spit my drink out when they pulled out guns!
Why can't these two join the judging panel on The X-Factor? Their heckling of all the contestants would make the show enjoyable as fuck!
Can anyone give me a link to a video with this masterpiece? :)
Waldorf: That was wonderful!
Statler: Bravo!
Waldorf: I loved it
Statler: It was great
Waldorf: Well it was pretty good
Statler: Well it wasn’t bad
Waldorf: Well there were parts of it that weren’t very good though
Statler: It could have been a lot better
Waldorf: I didn’t really like it
Statler: It was pretty terrible
Waldorf: It was bad
Statler: It was awful!
Waldorf: Terrible!
Statler: Terrible!
Waldorf: Hey, boo!
Statler: BOO!
Legends in their own time.

As a kid, in the summer, I worked at the yacht club in our town cleaning the bar and the rest in the morning... there was a big wooden sign hanging over the bar and one day I wrote on a series of bar napkins (backwards so it could be seen in the bar mirror) that I taped to the back of the sign:
*_”Why do we always come here, I guess we didn’t think, it’s like some kind of torture to have to drink these drinks !!”_*
♡ Statler and Waldorf
Waldorf: What are they doing with those spoons?
Statler: Scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Waldorf: Hmm, I'm not surprised. That's how they get all their acts!
Both: Hahahahaha!!!
30:39-30:46: Statler- "Boy, that number was something else!"

Thanks for putting this together. Though my favorite line of theirs surprisingly didn't make it. ("You gotta admit, the opening theme is catchy." "So's smallpox.")

1:27 A Tragic Revelation, New Footage Reveals Lincolns Assassin Had An Accomplice
(Circa 1865, Colorized)
They are just hysterical!
They're basically puppet versions of Siskel and Ebert. Or maybe Siskel and Ebert were Dr. Bunsen Honeydew's attempt to create human versions of Statler and Waldorf.
33:24 best scene ever!!
"We will be in Chicago!"
