  • We ventured to a new location on the Oregon Coast- the Jetty Fishery on Nehalem Bay in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. We had a great experience and brought in some beautiful, big Dungeness crab. The staff were wonderful, and cooked and cleaned our catch for us. It was a day to remember for sure!
    Come along and enjoy our adventure!
    Thanks for watching!

    Great video! Nice score on the last crab too. I considered stopping here one day as I headed to Garbaldi 12th street pier and told myself the same thing going to go crab for free as I had 3 traps I couldn’t use on their docks.. I should’ve paid to check it out and enjoy the experience! I went home with one crab that evening after grinding it out on the packed pier lol still a good time and the crab going home was a nice way to end the day… I’ll have to go check this place out now that I’ve seen your video.. keep the content coming guys!

    Was just there today. Sunny no wind beautiful day of crabbing. Love Jetty Fishery, try to hit it 3-4 times a year. A lot more luck there than Garibaldi.

    Thanks for informing that cage style of traps aren't allowed there. I definitely would have brought my cage trap styles there.

    You know the crabs will stay alive longer without water in the cooler. I bring a hand towel and dip it in the water and ring it out just a bit and then just keep the crabs covered. I have had them last for over 24 hours.

      We've definitely tried different ways in our videos and you're right. Thanks for the wet towel tip! 🤙

    Were you pouring a scent on your baits from a gallon jug, if so, what was it? Great video!

      @northwestweekenders  Год назад

      Thanks so much! Yes, we were pouring on "Pro- Cure crab and shrimp attractant oil" and "Pautzke crab and shrimp fuel." Either one works great. We usually marinate our bait in it for 24 hours prior but weren't able to this time so just put a little bit on inbetween tosses.

    always crab with chicken. also bring tuna cans and punch em and zip tie them to the bottom its a lure. and with the chicken let it sit out like 2 days. stinkier the better ;)

    • @northwestweekenders
      @northwestweekenders  Год назад

      We'll try the tuna cans for sure! We're talking about also maybe trying a fresh chicken versus old (sit out for a few days) chicken and see what produces more. Thanks!

      @@northwestweekenders ive always had better luck when i go out with not rotten chicken but "old" chicken i let it sit out 2-3days like in the garage and it does way better than frozen fresh chicken. But ya tuna for sure that oil carries a Loooong ways when im out in newport. I limit out fast. If your out all day bring 2 cans per trap so you can put a fresh one in every so often
