Anyway to tell which one needs replaced before pulling it all apart? Blows when your driving down the road but only at one speed but doesn't work when sitting still.. don't wanna buy both parts if I don't have too

How do you know which one is bad? The ac blows when u drive down the road but always at the same speed no matter if i turn the dial up or down but only blows very very slightly when sitting still.. need to fix the problem for my defrost to work to pass virginia state inspection.. 2012 scion tc btw.. the shop said it could b either the resistor or the motor and i would rather not pay for both if not needed.. thanks for any help!

Hey what could be the problem if I have both hot and cold air working as intended, but I can't alternate through the different blowing settings? So for example, if I want hot air to only blow on my windshield to defrost my windshield for the winter? When I try to switch the controls, it just spins but nothing switches and instead air just blows out of all vents.

Hi, it could be the blend door actuator or the a/c & heater control module itself. It is also possible that something got inside or there is a rodent damage.

Remove blower (3 screws) first, and then, remove connectors. much easier that way

@kowalski7161 had a rusted resistor. took everything off, stick a small flathead into the release slot and pulled and wiggled the plastic tab, not the wires, until it was disconnected
