- Whilst over in Texas, I got the chance to put a few hundred rounds through possibly the best value sidelock over and under on the market.
We are talking about the A10 American from CSMC. You can’t argue that this gun represents great value for money, with almost limitless custom options available.
What do you think?

it's nice to see something high quality still made in the US
look into Henry Rifles
Don't be fooled, I bought a shotgun from them and it arrived broken and they claimed I did it ! I then had a 2 month long fight with them which involved the Connecticut Attorney General. I'm not the only one, check out their BBB rating and internet reviews. For as few of guns they make they get lots of complaints with many of these complaints unresolved. Connecticut Shotgun is a ship of pirates. Tony Galazan has the nickname of "Czar Nicholas" for a reason, Google it. You've been warned.
Sleepy Joe: 'Hold my ice cream!'
🤣👍🇬🇧🏴
There is a Turkish shotgun manifucturer who build a sidelock over and under. Its called Akus. It will be great if you can review their sidelock. They also do the traditional case hardening.
Just picked up a Conn. Shotgun Inverness Special 20g w/American black walnut furniture at auction. Your factory tour is what made me key in on the gun. Beautiful piece of functional art.
I live in Connecticut and it's nice to see that fine gun making hasn't disappered completely from the state that had Colt and Winchester.
Especially with Smith and Wesson, and Springfield having left MA. Savage is still made in MA.
Great review and a testament to CSMC for making high quality firearms (shotguns) here in the US again! Check out their entire line! Thanks again Jonny!
One intense piece of hardware beautifully implemented to do the tasks of its original design. Superb. Excellent video quality here too - congrats!
I think you need to study CSMC's Terms of Service. They are notorious for not offering ANY warranty service and won't even address an issue like a rib that was mislaid by 1/8 inch on a brand new gun.
Very nice review. Pleased that the quality of the gun made it a good value. The CSMC RBL series of less expensive side-by-side's are, much like the under-appreciated vintage British boxlocks, a very good value that will give immense shooting pleasure.
I’m a simple man that loves my 500 shotgun. I have used it to put food on the table. But I do love the beautiful wood on the high end guns
That's an elegant bit of kit...... lovely...
My favorite double barrel company. I wish they made some lower grade Fox lately. Only thing we have is like their highest grades. They want like 16,000 for them. Also wouldn't adding the slotted screws kind of you know. Take away from the whole. We hid them thing?
When are you going to check out? Jarrett rifles? Shakar are amazing. I'd really like to see the Connecticut shotgun revelation in compared with other things that similar price point.
I think the screws Johnny is talking about are the Torx head screws that are holding the recoil shoulders.
I did enjoy shooting it a lot more than I thought I would! Great video as always
Beautiful gun and proper music.
Great review. Side locks are gorgeous. The risk is the too-frequent removal of the side locks, often resulting in damage to the finely configured wood.
You compared the CSMC to a Purdey but I think a more fair comparison would have been to compare it to a longthorne. Ala carte service, slightly different way of doing things, more modern methods (granted everything I know about a longthorne I learned from your videos)
If I hit the lotto a Celtic longthorne 12 gauge and a Celtic A10 12 gauge are top of the list (and maybe a titanium 28 gauge 32”)
You had me at laser welding!!
Have you considered going to the Grand American? It is a huge trap shooting event in Sparta IL. Its at the World Recreational and Shooting Complex. They have trap fields, skeet, cowboy action, Spolrting Clays, and i think 5 stand. They have nearly 3 miles of trap fields, and about half of that has skeet as well.
color case hardening makes a Shotgun absolutely Beautiful ❤💋
I love the look. So clasic.
There's GOLD in them tharr guns.
Fantastic Gun at a great Price. Great features.😮
That is a nice concept side lock over and under. A great price for $15,000. A great field gun.

Johnny they make solid guns a friend has 3 of them and all beautiful and are upland guns .
I’m a yank and I like this gun…but honestly, I’d probably buy another K-80 for that money.
It’s very reminiscent of a beretta in the action shape and ejector set up, no bad thing I guess!
Great looking gun
Very beautiful gun

There certainly isn’t anything not to like
I love the fine scroll and colour case hardening it’s like a American budget SO10 lookalike I do also like the gold washed V springs in the locks

I have question about English gun laws. What is minimum barrel length you can have for shotguns and rifles?
28" I believe!?
A10 go brrrrtttt
case hardened is nice but depleted uranium is nicerer-rur.
It is a nice gun ,side by side would be nicer. 15 thousand is a lot to a lot of people including me. As said good to see a quality gun being made in the old USA.
Speaking of $... I think it's all about setting priorities.
- I'd rather drive an older vehicle, and shoot a nicer gun. As I'll get more enjoyment out of the gun than the car/truck. Not to mention that over time, guns will also retain more value.
Hi Johnny, we guessed you liked it!!! Did you buy one? Malc and Ann Lincs xx
Not yet!
I put a DIY sling on mine. I drilled a hole between the barrels right above the stock. It works great. For hunting I like a sling.
Nice looking gun. Thanks for finding such items in unexpected places! As a side note, what's the background sound that continues through most of the video? It sort of sounds like someone's playing ping pong...
Distant gun shots?
@@tgsoutdoors Ah! Makes sense.
If I ever win the lottery I won't ever tell anyone, but there will be signs.... "Where did Penland get that Celtic engraved Connecticut Shotgun?" lol
Do you think Galazan will ever have a retailer in the UK ?
I hope so, although ringing guns from 🇺🇸 to 🇬🇧 generally makes them much less good value by the time paperwork and the taxman are done.
Would love to see if we could get one across and what the price point looked like by the time it was here.

USA Baby
saludos desde Mexico🖐
Hi mexico
Unusually classy-looking for an American product! l And looks like great value, too.
That barrel looks short. How many inches?
How long that barrels?
Pity that you've decided to put your journey to langstone behind a paywall
Is it just me or did the forend wood not match the stock?
KOLAR! DO KOLAR!
he did Kolar earlier this year.
ruclips.net/video/PKwwTsNwulM/видео.html
He did
They are elegant looking but have had many mechanical problems. Why spend that much money and it not be a Kreighoff or Perazzi or Beretta or any number of true competition shotguns built to take the punishment of hundreds of thousand rounds without a hiccup. JMO.
Trying to compare that to a high end English gun is just plain silly!
Aren't many nice US made guns. I like it!
Lots of unhappy CSMC owners. Google is your friend. Piss poor QC, customer service,
When $15k is price point…
I can buy a nice car for the price of this gun...lol
If you're going to shoot it like a hunting gun start with the gun at your waist with the safety on then say pull and shoulder the gun.
Turkish copy of Beretta
Csmc is good at kidding everyone. I wouldnt buy anything from them. I've heard and see way too much defects that no one is going to tell you about. Most of these guns go into a safe and rarely shot. I've held a brand new a10 on the rack that the forend was loose on. Now the guys I know that have committed to these guns have dealt with the issues if they arise. The company will fix their mistakes but their quality control is sub par at best. I know where a csmc fox is right now that the barrels wont ring and it has never seen a shell since the factory. How does that happen? I'm sure there are great solid csmc guns with long lives ahead but on the same token, there are also yildiz with grade 3+ Turkish walnut so I mean you can polish it all you want, it's still what it is.
I’ve heard similar things about them too. I’d be very cautious with anything they make. They are beautiful but unreliable at best.
you got 17,000$$$ less in your pocket.
When you order a Beretta from Wish
For that kind of coin I'd take a German Blaser any day
