That guy who heard him screaming for help is a hero.
Yeah! It’s a good thing he wasn’t deaf.
Good he was going to the store at that time. Very Lucky guy. Best only to go into certain holes.👨🚒
There are so many people who think immediately "it's not my problem" or "I don't want to get involved". Thank the Lord that this man isn't that guy...
Not a hero! Look up the word hero in the dictionary. The man was an important part in saving a life, but no heroic action was involved.
@@gordonwaite2 lol there's always one
That’s my nephew!! My family didn’t know where he was. Last we knew he was in Colorado. Thank you so much to the man who heard his cries for help and to the rescue team for pulling him to safety before it was too late. You all saved my family, especially my sister a lot of heartache.
That's great god bless u....why was he down there though?

The man who decided to walk to grocery store is definitely an earth angel. Amazing synchronicity.
Yes I fully agree!
So true cause I just drive to that store all the time with my windows closed and music turned up high!
What if he was walking to the liquor store or the smoke shop?

Good thing the guy was calling for help, rather than repeating, "You'll float, too!" He'd have never escaped.
The guy in the hole was in there because he was homeless and that was his shelter.
but the guy Jamie Lindsey is also homeless! he wasn't just walking to the store as reported
but he probably didn't want to appear in public and say that he was homeless himself.
he just happened to be walking by behind the store building

Kudos to the Good Samaritan for saving the trapped man’s life!
No need to mention the group of firefighters who actually did though right?
@@_whatnext_9319 Settle down, Karen. Of course those guys are heroes. But it all started with one guy who decided to get involved and who wasn't listening to headphones on his walk.
That man has so much will to live.
Two whole days and he still shouted for help, wow. Quick recovery to him....
And to the guy who heard him and called for help, you're a hero man💞💞
Not really, if he had access to water, 48 hours is easily doable. The issue is the bore of the pipe and the angle of it. Too tight and it restricts breathing and if he's upside down that can cause problems with blood pooling, anoxia, confusion and other issues - add muscle spasms/cramps from electrolyte depletion..
My anxiety & claustrophobia levels just went crazy watching this - wow! Thank God he was found and saved!!! 👏
This is the third such confined space rescue that we've had in a couple of months. Specially trained first responders are really needed because going to get them could result in a rescuer casualty. Truly a one way in, one way out, doesn't allow for turning or other maneuvers, or the more you go, the tinier it becomes, leaving no way to back up. Asphyxiation, dehydration and starvation are just the beginning, as was the case of the man pulled from in between the walls of the old Oakland Auditorium, believed to have been trapped there between 3-5 years. No one could hear his cries for help, and only the current building renovation led to his discovery. Crawl spaces exist underneath and inside the freeways, which is where someone was stuck and a fire began. Rescuers not only battled tightly confined spaces, but smoke filled, oxygen depleting, sight challenged areas to make sure they got to everyone, even those that had passed out. And finally, many thanks are owed to the gentleman who acted quickly by hearing the cries for help, then notifying the police and other agencies who got the trained professionals who acted quickly and saved this man's life. Great Work.
It just makes you wonder why. One homeless group was trying to escape unusually freezing weather by entering a freeway overpass, however you do that, then couldn't all get out. Maybe this guy was high on something? Bizarre and sad and many thanks to the specially trained crews who come to the rescue, and risk their own lives in doing so. Life never ceases to get weirder.
Trapped for 5 years really? died of dehydration and wasnt found for 5 years
@@nascarspankin2128 That's right, 3-5 years, because the building was abandoned and he found his way into it. He was pretty much mummified when discovered and will need DNA, dental analysis or missing persons reports to determine who he is. Workers tearing out a wall made the discovery of him trapped between the walls. We just hope he can be identified, so if linked to a family, they can now get some closure. Sad.
I was going to say this is about the 4th story I've heard. By us months ago a naked lady got stuck between 2 buildings. Lol I have no idea how that happened.
@@scallaghan2118 Off topic, but this reminds of a former job. The building was located at the bottom of a hill. When it was ice or snow on the ground, we all lined our cars up and pushed each other out. Whoever was the last in the lineup was stuck. Maybe this was what happened to the guy in the storm drain
Dude lucky, that a person just happened to be walking by and heard him. Angel 😇 looking out.
Yeah more luckier than the mummified body that was found at Oakland's Henry J Kaiser convention center just two weeks ago.

@@free2rhyme29100 I think that goes without saying, but okay?
@@moonkitten420 Firefighters are unsung heroes. Everyday they risk their lives in a profession that very few people can or will do. Unselfishly putting their lives on the line for complete strangers no matter why they are in whatever predicament. They do suffer lifelong ailments bc of their profession. Burns, inhalation of toxic chemicals, the guilt of those that they couldn't save, the destroyed aftermaths. I might be wrong but your comment rings elitist, a let them eat cake vibe. I feel you are indifferent, unappreciative of firefighters but will scream the loudest when they are needed.
I hope you can at least attend the fundraisers they do, donate to their fill-a-boot drives they have at grocery stores during the holidays, give toys/coats drives for the children in need programs, participate in the numerous community activities. If not, maybe start now and be a little grateful for the men and women that put their lives on the line for you. "but okay?"

i and my buddies in the late fifties ,use to lay on skate boards and go down the fairly big flood pipes in the Pasadena hills until it flattened out after a mile or so . We couldn't crawl all the way back up the hill so we managed to get up a side pipe that ended in a grate at the curb . i stuck my head out so that my chin was resting on the top of the curb . a woman was watering her lawn , saw me and let out a blood curdling scream . i pulled my buddy out and we giggled all the way home .
You guys were naughty as hell but would gave laughed too!! 🤣🤣🤣
At first, I thought you said she was mowing her lawn and got so scared 😫😂
"mowing her lawn " lol 😂 trimming bush's can be tricky !
about 8th grade we would crawl in a 16'' storm drain that started at the school, and ran about 50 feet til it opened up into a large area that was as big as a room and ran 3 blocks to where it opened into a culvert. enough light came came i from there to see the whole distance. if the war started, we always knew where to go.

I didn’t know I was claustrophobic until a friend asked if I wanted to do an obstacle course race with him. It sounded fun so why not. There was a section of the race where you had to crawl through a narrow tube about 20ft long. It wasnt super tight but I almost lost it in there and it was only for like no more than a minute and there was a lot of people around if I did freak out, but I would have lost my mind if I was in that dude’s situation for 2 days.
A dude fell through a hole in the sidewalk in the Bronx and he was down there engulfed in rats for 45 minutes. He said that he would not scream because they were going in his mouth.
