Siamese Cat Predicting An Earthquake

- Daytime, third video of what my almost two year old neutered Siamese cat does before there is an earthquake. He's been doing this since last night when I filmed him for the second video.
I do believe that a cat can sense an earthquake that is about to occur, and that they can sense, or hear the sounds the earth is making from hundreds, or thousands of miles away as the sound waves, and vibrations travel through the ground. He acts spastic, and nervous in the hours before a earthquake occurs, often going all the way to the fence at the end of my backyard within the New Madrid Seismic Fault Zone.
This cat only does this when there is an earthquake about to occur.

Fun fact:they don't predict it, they have better senses than us.
No
@@ivyme5783 mate a cat confirmed it
Yep. Many animals feel and hear it starting well before humans.

I must have blinked and missed the earthquake 😆
I had your same though 😅
I missed the prediction part too.
I missed both the prediction & the earthquake! 😢
Looks like it was predicting a train.
I have a bunny. One week we had 3 back to back earthquakes here in California. Everytime before an earthquake, my bunny would stop playing, run to my moms leg and huddle there. And then the earthquake would hit. We found it kinda cute that it felt safe with my mom, especially after the fact she was really against getting it.
Animals can hear the sounds the earth makes before an earthquake. Also, a animal can sense the atmospheric conditions minutes before a tornado, they get spastic.
“Cat plays while train passes in the distance….”
My Siamese cat predicts earthquakes twice a day. Since we live in region where earthquakes never happen I suppose she predicts them all over the world!
Both of mine too!
My cat uses his litter box every time before and earthquake. Been doing it since he was a kitten. Never fails, uses box, sometime in the future an earthquake happens somewhere in the world ...
Cats can sense the sound in the earth before an earthquake.
@@joeybarrelwilde Sure, but your cat isn't.
@@chris77_ yes it is
@@ZeroWildFyre literally how can you think that based on this video. Lmao. What a waste of time
I too predict earthquakes with my poop.
They aren't predicting... They're reacting. They just feel the subtle leading vibration that we can't.
Some people can! A friend and I figured it out, I’ve woken up and just felt super alert… seconds later a tremor
Damn..... How many earthquakes did I miss? Our farm cats roll about like that almost every day. Never felt the ground shaking though!
A couple of times at night, I have felt what I thought was a gentle shake, then looked on the internet to discover Missouri had a small earthquake. Very surprising. Not like the one in Alaska.
So when does the earthquake begin.
When I would see this happen, I could verify on the USGS map within 3 days a mid size earthquake on The New Madrid would occur in Oklahoma, or Kansas. If there's a large earthquake in the area of BAJA California, the cat can detect that too. The sounds the earth makes when the tectonic plate pressure builds, the cat can hear the sounds in the ground.

Yeah
That's what I thought until I viewed the other two videos he posted. In one of them, I could hear the faint sound of train wheels making their distinctive sound. But there is no train sound in the other.
Earthquaks happens almost every time but 7 to up are the ones that humans can feel.

Looks like the cat is leaving it’s scent to warn any intruders from entering the large space under the fence
He is neutered.
@@joeybarrelwilde Neutered or not cats still rub their scent off on everything they’re marking as theirs. Cats have sent glands under their paw pads their cheeks, lips, forehead, flanks, tail. That’s why they rub on their owners, furniture, outside areas by their home.
@@Last.word-Sydney- I do have coyotes, raccoons, & possums in my area, and yard. But there has always been tremors afterwards whenever the cat does this activity.
@@joeybarrelwilde Interesting! I’ve seen my dogs do it before the big earthquakes up in Ridgecrest that shook us in SoCal but not my cat. Pretty neat! And your cat is beautiful!

Gorgeous cat
Wow that's such a beautiful Siamese cat!
The only thing the cat predicted, is that rolling in sand is a sure way of getting rid of parasites!
Amazing! My pretty lil’ Siamese Kitty used to roll around just like this every day and then one day in 1989 the Loma Prieta Quake struck in California! In looking back I can see that she was trying to warn me for years!!
That cat didn't predict a thing...she was just having a nice dirt bath!
all he did was predicted the train lol no wait he heard it lmfao
My cat would reliably predict every major world event but meowing for food.
Never was there a major event anywhere in the world without him doing this.
Infact not a day went by without him predicting something even if it was just minor like a robbery or a president saying something somewhere in the world.
Firstly, was there an earthquake?
Secondly, the cat seemed to be listening to the train and not distressed in any way.
I've seen cats responding to hearing the preshock* wave and it's obvious that something is coming.
*I don't know the proper scientific term, but before the quake hits there are preshock waves cats can hear.
The cat hears the preshock waves.
Yes, they can hear them.
I've read through the comments section and it seems you're suffering from a confirmation bias. You remember seeing your cat do something unusual then a few days later there's an earthquake. However, you forgot the other times when your cat did this and there wasn't an earthquake.
Additionally, you can find videos here on RUclips of cats reacting to something they can hear and then a few moments later there's an earthquake.
The camera man predicting that the cat is predicting the earthquake
So the next time I see a cat playfully rolling on the ground, I should seek shelter?
The ground makes sounds up to an earthquake that animals can hear. Sometimes, humans can too when it's really quiet in the area.
Clickbait. Cutie was chill af.
GOD bless you kitty🙏🙏😍😍❤️❤️♥️😘😘❣️❣️
Beautiful siamese
Tal vez sea click bait este video pero es un placer ver a un felino 🐈🐱
That’s a cute cat though
She is "predicting" nothing. Cats do this all the time
Looks like a Ragdoll cat to me.
Are you sure he wasn’t predicting a train? 😂
I watched the whole video and missed the earthquake prediction part.
There was a small earthquake in the New Madrid Fault Zone.
But what IN the video was the prediction?
It's probably the train, if you live near the tracks and a train comes by, the ground moves as the rumble from the engine nearby.
He does that days before a earthquake on the New Madrid.
Really
@@joeybarrelwildeoh ok
My cats roll around like this every day. 🙄
Nope
Do trains cause vibrations when passing by, in addtion to the sounds they make ? I believe so, also from a great distance before passing !
Oh yes, they do! They rumble.
Siamese Cat predicting more Catnip on the horizon ritual!🤣🐱
it's the P wave they detect, after that the large S waves come and everything starts shaking
Beautiful kitty
**Please look at .09 seconds. The cat looks down at his feet curiously, pauses, and looks confused. Then ignores and starts to play. I don’t know if it was the train or not, but if kitty grew up feeling and hearing train, he would likely not react at all.
Siamese Cat Predicting a train?
"The video 'The Extreme Cleanliness Of The Siamese Cat' will not be seen this week, due to the cat having none of it."
you have a sense of humor. Nice cat, and freight train must not be far away. That rolling stock's been known to cause a rumble.
She cat in heat! That's earthquake!
I was at SeaWorld or MarineWorld during an earthquake once, around 1980. Watching a trained parrot show in a small outdoor arena when the bird jumped of the unicycle it was riding on a wire. I guess it happens sometimes bc the trainer just put him back. Then I heard lions roaring and birds screeching. I was standing and suddenly felt very dizzy and sat down. Then I realized it was an earthquake, and looked up to see if there were any electrical wires above us. There weren't. It was very interesting to find out that animals DO know an earthquake is coming - but only about a minute or less before we do. During that one, anyway. It was pretty fun and only about a 5.8. I'm from California so they don't bother me too much.
Would have if I'd been in the Loma Prieta or Coalinga ones, though. I felt Loma Prieta almost 100 miles away, but not very strongly. I was driving and suddenly felt like I had 4 flat tires. I just thought the road was badly paved because I'd never driven on it before.
The big ones are fine, though, because all the out of state transplants get scared and leave. Yay! Lower prices!
Hmmmm.. wtf? The only thing the cat was sensing was to scratch the itch it had.. lol
Cat acting normally given misleading RUclips title.
This cat is smart!
One night years back I was in bed with my partner, and I heard a super-low but very subtle rumble, almost inaudible (I have PTSD, not much gets past me), so I sat up to try to get a fix on it.
My Missus asked me what was wrong and instantly the whole building and everything in it started shaking, stuff was falling off the wardrobes.
It wasn’t a particularly big earthquake, but we don’t get earthquakes here, I can’t remember how powerful it was, but for us lot it was enough, lol
🍻
You can hear the shock wave coming towards you seconds before the jolt hits if you are away from the epicenter.
No, I'm pretty sure that cat was predicting the outcome of the 2024 US Presidential election. We all saw who it chose. Now we wait and see it it was correct.
Huh? I don't get it.....what earthquake?
Beautiful cat. Thanks for sharing this.
Cats' senses are beyond ours.
What would help prove this even more would be media or other info saying there were earthquakes at these times. Also a way to prove when the videos were made.
According to geologists there are a lot of small earthquakes all the time that don't do anything. It would help to differentiate those from the ones your cat responds to.
If he can also predict the weather that accurately I’d employ him as a weather-cat on TV.
Nice cat though lol
Thanks!
Im from kosovo, today an earthquake happened in albania which we felt very strong as well
My cockatiel (parrot) was chirping and screaming like 2 minutes before the earthquake, than it happened,i just can say *wow*
Yes, animals can sense sounds that the ground makes before an earthquake as the stress builds within the earth.
What earthquake? And what action did the cat take to “predict “ it? Looks like normal cat behavior to me.
Well, that was a total waste of a minute and fourteen seconds.
To me seems more of a female in heat. Usually cats flee somewhere deemed safe after sensing the quake.
The female is in heat😅😅😅😅
DING DING DING DING

Sure.
It looks like you have many earthquakes
soo wheres the prediction?
when im on my bed, i can sense a slight shake too
Here in California, my cat naps on his favorite chair the day before an earthquake, without fail. It's just crazy!
This is complete nonsense. What I see in the video is typical cat behavior. Nothing odd there whatsoever. Yes, cats and other animals (birds, especially), sense an earthquake before it happens. That's WELL documented. Some cats will takeoff just prior to a massive quake and not return home for days. But I have never seen any of my cats ever act oddly prior to or even *during* a small quake in the area that people can barely sense, where their stomach is turning a little but you don't know it's a quake until you see another person looking at you questioningly, or maybe a window rattles a bit or a wind chime makes noises without a breeze --like under magnitude 4--so I highly doubt your cat is sensing a quake hours prior.
Through interpretive dance?

It's a neutered male.
This cat is in heat. She wants a male.
This is true I saw all stray cats in our street rolling then a earthquake alert came after 5 Mins
where was it
What did it do exactly?
It senses the earthquake activity in the New Madrid Fault Zone.
I’m curious.
1: Where did this happen?
2: How strong was it?
The cat is in the New Madrid Seismic Fault Zone. He can sense earthquakes occurring in California, thousands of miles away, the sounds travel through the ground from that far away.
🇹🇷🇸🇾🙏🙏
I like spaghetti
Do you know anything about cats?
Nice video! I like it
He's been doing this nonstop since last night, and that's exactly what he does before an earthquake occurs. He wasn't even bothered by the train horn about a half block away.
It would be hard for my cat because she is always like this
How many earthquakes do you have bud? Poor cat is probably stuffed like a turkey!
I do the same thing only in an inflatable mini pool and with jello😂
i have this cat that looks the same i think i may or may not have your cat
Looks like a cat in heat to me. When did the earthquake start?
This was a neutered male. The next day in the New Madrid Seismic zone, he's way southeast of Oklahoma where a earthquake had occurred, but in a straight line hundreds of miles away.
Looks more like a ragdoll cat??
Maybe a mix breed of Siamese, and Ragdoll.

Humans can't detect small earthquakes, but animals can, that's a fun fact!
yes, and it is oftentimes misunderstood.
Any time spent watching a cat is time well spent. 😃😼🚂🚃🚃 The train is good too.
Totally didn't feel instant regret
Shame on you then
I don't see an earthquake. I see a cat being all runcible and rubbing itself on the ground, the way mine does here in the UK, which is not an earthquake zone. Sure, perhaps the cat can predict earthquakes, but this video doesn't show it.
The person who made this video is just being sarcastic because he/she doesn't understand how animals are intuitive so in order to cover up his/her insecurities about being stupid on the subject he/she has to make fun of it.
It is a known fact that all animals sense things before they happen and see and hear things that humans don't.
Animals are very intuitive when it comes to natural disasters especially tsunamis and earthquakes like in 2004 in Indonesia when all the animals moved up to higher ground a couple days before it happened. And cats and dogs are very intuitive also because they have all four paws on the ground and so they're closer to the ground than we are and they see and hear things at a lower level so they're on a different frequency level than humans are and they feel sensations a lot easier and hear things at much lower decibels than what humans can hear that's why when you watch cat videos it seems as though they're very easily scared by sounds and tiny movements that us humans would not be normally scared by because they hear things very easily and loudly even the small noises that we humans cannot sense that's why a lot of humans are so easily brainwashed.
Nah, humans can sense if not better because human ear is better attuned to infrasound than a cat, it's just that we are less attuned to our senses because of technology
Where’s the signs? Are they written in the dirt he’s rolling on?
It's a sign of showing off.
*of an earthquake
CLICKBAIT...??? Did I miss something...???
Cute cat but we're the earthquake?
New Madrid Fault Line mostly, sometimes Southern California. An animal can sense the sounds the earth makes from thousands of miles away.
Ok
Read the title, fool
What earthquake? You mean train?
There was one in the New Madrid Seismic Zone a few days later.
@@joeybarrelwilde I see but that was a train at that moment
@@PizzA_TimE He was doing that continuously all afternoon, into the night. A freight train passed by regularly, but it wasn't the train's vibrations.
No, earthquake
Must be the vibration from the train. Not an earthquake
He did the same thing when the trains were not running, during the pandemic lockdown, and there was earthquakes within the New Madrid Seismic Zone Area.
Nopr
Cats have the ability to predict earthquakes
Oh so that’s what that means when they roll around in the dirt like that.
He senses the New Madrid Seismic Zone. Also, the Southern California area where the vibrations, and sounds travel thousands of miles.
I bet people disliked the video bc the likes are at 69 and they didnt want to ruin it lol
Non believers. He predicts the New Madrid seismic zone. And really big ones in southern California.
@@joeybarrelwilde 😅 wow you're writing this for everyone. I'm glad I know that animals, I just only know about cats and dogs that are sensible to sounds and vibrations, while humans ( except scientists with does machines) can just feel 7, 8 to up earthquakes.
@@joeybarrelwilde no. You just speaking nonsense. Animals can sense p waves just before the s waves hits. Some peopel can as well. You cat was just playing in the fucking dirt.
If you live close to the tracks the ground will move. And you will feel the ground jiggle and hear the train. It will wake you, your baby, your husband, your grandmothern your betta fish, and your cat out of a sound sleep!I have slept through an earthquake, but have never not been awakened by the train. Hell train
Yes, that freight train is always on schedule, I can feel the rumble, hear the clacking, and it has the loudest horn. But, that cat does that before an earthquake occurs. He's used to the train. He can sense the New Madrid area effecting Oklahoma, and Kansas. Or, a large one in southern California. The vibrations from the tectonic stress makes sounds the cat can sense from thousands of miles away. The loudest train horns of them all are the FEMA horns, when they transport relief supplies to needy areas from across the country. They can be heard from miles away, not just nearby. Those horns make you jump, if you're not expecting it.
I felt this post....
I don't see a thing indicating an earthquake. I think he has something wrong with his skin and needs attention?
