    I've always had trouble making patterns from clay, and I've always found it easier building them from foam. This video was very helpful and they came out really nice considering I used the clay method this time. Thanks so much man!

    I'm using my foam as a pattern, so I can cut the tape, and sew the fleece or fur and put stuffing into the toes. This is really easy of using stuffing instead of foam for the feet. I should do this more often, you saved me from carving foam so much!

    My Walmarts and Home Depots unfortunately do not sell EVA foam mats so I have to order them online. In fact, nearly all my supplies that everyone says that is common and easy to get, in fact isn't as easy to get for me and I have to really hunt them out and buy most supplies online since I don't really have any local art and crafts supplies stores near me and if they are, they're VERY limited in selection. But I'm dedicated enough to get these supplies to try to make the things that I really super want to create such as outdoor and indoor feet paws.

    Is there a difference between these and indoor ones, or are they the same?

    • @dookamatic
      @dookamatic 3 года назад +4

      Indoor feet have fur on the bottom to look like actual animal feet, while outdoor ones only have the rubber sole. Hope this helps.

    • @freckledcatcreations
      @freckledcatcreations  3 года назад +1

      Thank you Ava for getting to this before I could! yes indoor would have more delicate detail on the bottom like fur/ pawpads/vinyl hoof bottoms etc! that would otherwise get ruined by concrete outside.

    • @freckledcatcreations
      @freckledcatcreations  3 года назад

      yes it usually is great quality!! you will still need to shave it shorter for the face, but beaver from howl fabric for example is nice quality. thing is, it doesnt come in as many colors as luxury shag.

    These look wonderful, but sadly my feet start to hurt really quickly if I'm not wearing sport shoes... do you have advice for how to make this kind of feet without gluing the shoes in?

    • @triangleshiny
      @triangleshiny 3 года назад +1

      i don't know about doing it with stuffed hooves vs foam, but you could probably build it normally (without a liner, or just lining the ankle/leg part) and then where you'd add the EVA and rubber bottoms cut a section out of both where the shoe will fit. then you could put the shoe in and use something like nylon straps to hold the foot flush with the shoe?
      it's a little hard to explain what i mean via text, but i can try to explain better if it's not clear.
      you could also just make it so that the ankle is wide enough to insert the shoe into, but i'm not sure how you'd secure it.

    • @freckledcatcreations
      @freckledcatcreations  3 года назад +2

      I make my feet where the shoes are removable, but I'm not quite ready to share how they work yet! you're welcome to make some if you figure it out, i'm not gonna say nobody else can. but I'm not quite ready to make a tutorial on my process yet haha. took me many months of puzzling how to secure the shoe in there - give it some thought and see if you can come up with some ideas! it's like a fun brain puzzle :3c
