One instance you forgot is that the Mon Calamari were also on the CIS side, and were sabotaging the CIS's image as the bad guys by actually fighting in behalf of the will of the people. Thus, he had Dooku send one of their best pilots and heroes on a wild goose chase to destroy a shield generator on Kamino that didn't actually exist. There, the heroic pilot met their end at the hands of dozens of Jedi pilots, which destroyed Mon Calamari moral for the war.
Remember when Jeffrey Dahmer explained that before every killing he watched The Exorcist III as "it got him in the mood?" Well ... 'the ballet' was Palpatine's equivalent :)

For a guy who expertly out maneuvered the Jedi, the Republic, The Speratists, and even his closest allies, the guy was a miserable idiot when it came to actually holding the power he obtained. As soon as he transitioned from the respected face of the Republic, into the despotic leader of the empire, he immediately set forth the seeds of his own undoing. Had he continued to play his enemies against one another and sew discourse in ways that required his support and intervention as a leader, he could've maintained a relatively unified level of good public standing, while still doing his Sith shit from the shadows. Instead though, he opted to go the route of the typical tyrant, and tried to force his rule through military might and fear. All that did was put a massive target on his back, and foster resolve in his enemies. Not even a Sith lord can stand against the entire galaxy, and that's exactly what happened to him.

Without Mon Cala, I often think there would be no Republic fleet & without the Republic fleet, there is no Rebellion. 😍🤩 I kind of hoped that Mon Cala received a special commendation as a planet for their contributions to the Rebellion. Like Alderaan was once a peaceful world, full of arts and culture, it was a beacon for the Old Republic and why the Empire had to destroy it.

And there’s a good 70-80% chance that the liberty class cruiser comes out on top. Because even tho a star destroyer have more powerful lasers and shields. Not only was the liberty a close second. But it can hold the same number of Starfighters as a standard ISD complement. And I don’t have to tell u who would win between 72 tie fighters and 72 a wings or X wings.

To me the motivation doesn’t sound as deep or “valid,” cause it sounds like the Mon Cala didn’t do much aside from silent protests and resisting him, which doesn’t sound any different from the rebel alliance or other planets that resisted him. Am I missing something?
