  • While I won't try to sell you on this one being one of the best shows I've ever watched or anything... It WAS really good. I enjoyed it a lot more than I'd anticipated. It felt like all the characters got explored and the story was brought to a conclusion I'm satisfied with. And sometimes, that's really all you can ask of a series. (Certain aspects of it reminded me just a little bit of Wonder Egg Priority, and given how that show crashed and burned... it made this one look even better in hindsight.)
This series first came out in 2018. I attributed its lack of popularity partially to it being a Hidive exclusive... But I feel like that may be changing. I'm pretty sure Oshi no Ko was also exclusive to Hidive and it really blew up this past season. (Definitely a show I'm planning to get to sooner or later.)
Those weird glitch-like moments you might see are my final attempt at getting VideoPad's clip transitions to work... My life's kinda crazy right now, but I might finally start experimenting with a new video editor in the coming months.

This video was great. Been looking for some regular reviews for shows I wouldn't know exist otherwise.

Thank you! I'm constantly torn between wanting to watch some of the better-known anime... and gravitating towards shows I've heard nothing about, so I can go in properly blind. Glad to have you along for the ride!

Hey, are you available on any other platform like discord or twitter? I was interested in asking you a few questions about your channel. Mostly relating to how long you've been making videos and how you started.

Honestly, social media's not really my thing... unless we're counting like... Tumblr and MyAnimeList. The short version of that story is... about 10 years and extremely awkwardly. 😅My very first microphone was an Xbox headset that I borrowed from a friend. I've left up all the early vids that I haven't remade... But feel free to not scroll that far. They're pretty bad. Currently, I use VideoPad for both recording and editing, but as I mentioned in the description of this vid.... I'm comfortable with it. It's very simple and easy to use. But I've been having problems lately with things like the clip transitions suddenly not working anymore, and I am planning to... (eventually) look for another video editing platform. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

@@duckielover151 Do you feel like your perspective has changed on making videos? Also I was curious if this channel is kinda like a blog in the sense of documenting what you've watched?

@@GilLiesHere Definitely yes to this channel being a blog documenting what I watch. The name change to officially labeling it my "Anime Diary" is still pretty recent, but I'd been considering it for a while because that's really how it feels.
I don't know how much my perspective on making videos has changed... I feel like I go into it with the same enthusiasm that I had at the beginning. At this point, writing the review is just like... the last stage in watching the show. The process wouldn't feel complete without it. And I feel like it's aided me just in general as a person who consumes media, to have to organize my thoughts like this and determine what influenced my overall opinion on a show. If anything's changed, it's that I've grown a lot in 10 years as a watcher and understand/interpret/see things differently than I did at the beginning.
