wow, nice collection though it hurts to see that some of the dual config locos are not done properly ie some were not connected in the ideal fashion of long hood sides connected together . maybe they were ad-hoc connections and not permanent
Engines are deliberately connected in this fashion so that locomotive pilot can see the track clearly, in longhood forward position it becomes cumbersome to drive the locomotive 🚂. To overcome this problem wdp4b was upgraded to wdp4d
@@Fekuchand_ no, it is not for the locomotive, it is for the loco pilot. cab front means loco pilot has a full view ahead but with reverse, he/she has only a limited view of one side so the AP has to keep a lookout on the other side all the time. both have to keep their eyes on the track ahead to be aware. it is very stressful compared with view from front cab.
@@prasannask8320 well that's what I said in my comment, loco pilot used to face tremendous problems while driving trains and especially express trains at high speeds due to lack of vision/clarity that's why wdp4d were introduced

And man locomotive 🚂 can run efficiently in both ways, direction doesn't matters at all
