- One of the best events in my life that I would never forget . The Meter Gauge Vs Broad gauge Race that I experienced between Izzatnagar and bhojipura jn . Thankfully I had a camera to capture this amazing race and to share with you all :)

At bhojipura jn Broad Gauge Was allowed to Depart First since it had a straight run . My meter gauge had to Cross the broad gauge It was made to halt :)
Here seen is my 15313 Izzatnagar - Lucknow Aishbagh Express (Meter gauge) Racing With 55335/Bareilly City - Lal Kuan Passenger .
This Race reminds me of VM - CGL Section Race Between MG and BG During the Last Few Days of meter gauge in Southern india :) .

भाई जबरदस्त इतना मस्त विडिओ कभी कभी ही बनता जब किसी रेल फैन की किस्मत अच्छी होती है। इतनी उत्सुकता के साथ देखा की साँसे मानो थम सी गयी हो।
6 साल पुराना, फिर भी आज भी देखे तो भी उतना ही रोमांच महसूस होता है. दोनो गाड़ी में बैठे हुए लोग कितने रोमांचित हुए होंगे. आज भी इसी तरह ये दोनो गाड़ी दौड़ती है.
These trains started from Izzat Nagar railway station Bareilly U.P.India.I was also in Broad gauge train at this time and was going to Baheri to attend my duty.Love to all viewers. From Bareilly U.P.India.

Indian Railways had a few parallel running duel tracks. Rewari Delhi had both broad gauge tracks running parallel. In AP, the tracks between Anantapur to Dharmavaram, and in TN, Trichirapalli to Tanjavur track had parallel running of both tracks for both BG and MG trains. In all these places it was possible but highly improbable to see a BG train and a MG train run parallel. But today all are converted to BG.
In Kerala on a short distance of about 5 km between Palakkad Junction and Palakkad Town they had the unique three rails tracks (now in vogue in Bangladesh extensively) where both BG trains and MG trains can run on same tracks.
Aha! What a bliss. 251D chugging and that typical YDM4 horn!
I miss Metee Guage excperience. Back then we had one long distance GL Express Guwahati to Lucknow MG
Have you remember the route of GL Express..pl share..in my childhood I had travelled so many times by GL Express.

Indian Railways (April 2018) Is to preserve 5 Of Its Metre-Gauge Lines ... the Visavadar-Talala line in Gujarat(42 km), the Mhow-Patalpani-Kalakand line in Madhya Pradesh (30 km), the Mavli Junction-Marwar Junction line in Rajasthan (162 km), the Nanpur-Mailani line in Uttar Pradesh (171 km) and the Mahur-Harangjao metre-gauge line in Assam (47 km)
Traveled on meter gauge in 1974 from lukhnow to siliguri ,unforgettable experience.

@@dipankar552 it was Guwahati to Lucknow than the routes kept changing. After that it ran between Banaras to Dispur further interior than Guwahati. Than Allahabad to Dispur, than for few months Ahmedabad to Dispur than back to Allahabad to Tezpur

I'm so excited just thinking about how the experience must've been. My dad was in the railways and really worked hard to climb the ranks to a loco pilot initially on the steam engines, then diesel engines and then just before retiring he also drove the very first batch of electric locos in the country on the Howrah Mumbai mainline of South Eastern Railways.
So during your trip in 74 to Siliguri (now New Jalpaiguri or NJP) on the meter gauge do you remember if it was pulled by a diesel or steam loco or a combination of both ? .... and was there sleeper class coaches for long distance trains ?

Yes it is true that Brod Gadge is King , but I'm really impressed for meter gadge. He is also worth for nice Acceleration and nice skipping. He proves that he is not a looser.

Typical YDM4 acceleration! Whoo! SSB fleet though used for inferior services, it was well maintained, and seeing an SSB loco is a bliss

@@ultimatetraveller9348 That is the class of the Loco. Y stands for Meter Gauge, D stands for Diesel and M stands for multipurpose. A broad gauge loco will be WDM, where W stands for wide

its my passion to see trains running on track. Just one question because I am a bit confused about. Can both meter and broad gauge trains run on same track like I see there is a loop line joining the two tracks at 2:28. I am curious about it and asking for my knowledge only. Thank you!
Oh, no. The line doesn't merge with BG. The footage is near the divisional HQ of NER, Izzatnagar, Bareilly. The MG track went inside the yard you can see on the right side. Now the MG track is completely removed and only BG is present.
S, I have seen in many stations there's a track in which both meter and broad gauge trains runs. There are three lines. But not now.

Very interesting, little devil YDM4 accelerates with full throttle to compete with gigantic WDM and successds to overtake to some distance, but ultimately BG giant wins,enjoyed thoroughly 👌👌👌👌,post more MG actions

In Malaysia the modified MG trains are running at the speed of 148 kms/hr. We can see on you tube.

Ydm4 has a high power,and the diesel engine is a typical 2 strokes,the adventages are more acceleration in comparisson with the Alco,that has a 4 strokes engine. Always in these sizes the 2 strokes wins in acceleration,but when 4 strokes turbocharger blows full,the 4 strokes engine dont smoke and the top speed may be the same.

The advantage we have in Meter gauge is even at just 75 kmph, it will give us a feel of going in 120 kmph.

मीटर गेज ट्रेन में हमारी आत्मा बसती है मै कभी नहीं भूलूंगा खंडवा से चितोडगढ का वह कभी न भूलने वाला सफ़र वह सही मायने मे दिखने वाले लाल कलर के बोगीया वो मद मस्त आवाज नींद भी बढ़िया आती थी ऐसा लगता है मीटर गेज और भारत एक दुसरे बिना अधुरे है
