An example of 4 fine musicians at the absolute top of their game.
aye, and when they were still friends...
i remember when they did this gig - it was a big deal back in the day. They are as brilliant as ever.
after all these years Hotel Womb still make me fell so many things, still one of my favs.
Best Church Line up in my own opinnion...Kilbey, Piper, Koppes and Powles.
Ploogie added more energy behind the kit IMHO.
*Wilson-Piper, *Koppes

I like the sound its great but i also give credit too the NEXT DRUMMER THEY GOT dont know his name saw them on video in the US RADIO SHOW i think it was.much later yrs👍💖💓
Its true theyre in a class of their own. 🙂👌
Great setlist
Absolutely gorgeous music. So happy you posted this. I've been enjoying the beautiful jingle gangle guys since the 80s and never get tired of their perfect vibes.
Love this! Some great views of the band, and a rare great look at bandit and his kit!! Thank you for Sharing 🤘
Amazing!
Yeah
Thank you for fix the audio and the video quality. Great gig.
Cheers VT, I enjoyed this. The band sounds brilliant.
The interviews has a Spinal Tap feel to it.
Best song is Hotel Womb!!
dueling ebows... glorious
WTF, Marty is playing a Rickenbacker and then suddenly he's playing a Fender Jazz Master!
I think the solo during Hotel Womb put the Ricky out of tune - it looks like he passes it to a sound man who hands him the Jazz!
he needed the jazzmaster because the final solo needs that kind of tremolo
Not a bad version of Iggy's under heard classic
superlative.
If I ever end up in a team game of Trivial Pursuits or Jeopardy I know who I want on my team!
😊.
the hair stylist didn't do them any favours
I'm pretty sure Steve is smacked up on this
yes, voice totally off
That's part of his charm. Slow jam maaaan.
For a smackhead Steve can still sing the fuuuck out of these great songs.
@@plev10 smacked out or not , he's pretty good.
I listend to an interview the other day and was very dissapointed that he took drugs a lot according to his words Im a singer songwriter and my songs come quickly with NO DRUGS ever STILL i love the CHURCH and their unique sound👍💖💓
I want this in uncompressed quality please
Ah, the heroin years.......
I used to read Steves blog - The Time Being but life can be mischievious at times and I stopped reading, so anyhoo...
Some years ago a very loud party was under way at his apartment complex, and given that the noise was very loud Steve has no choice but to find the source and see if they could turn it down.
Steve finds the apartment and knocks on the door and after what seemed like forever the door opens and two young men are looking at him. He tells them that the noise is very loud and can be heard all throughout the complex. Now, as Steve is talking one of them is staring and remarks :
" You look familar, I've seen you somewhere before." To which Steve tells him that he is the singer from the band The Church. And the young man replies: " No, it wasnt you, I have no idea who you are or of your band."
They agree to turn down the music and noise, and Steve leaves. I've always loved this story and can just picture Steve explaining who he was...😊.
This is great until the credits roll: "Peter Koppes: Bass". Wha???
I noticed that 🤣🤣xx
@@anjit7107 Nobody plays bass like Steve Kilbey!
I had idea until these LIVES THAT STEVE PLAYED BASS💖👍💓Its very hard to sing and play bass as the melody is SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO the bass lines👍💓 from a singer songwriter❤️💕
there's a weird dynamic going on, none of them look happy, or seem to be enjoying themselves, little interaction, the blocking is strange, and choice of songs.. two places especially drags, the whole thing lacks oumph...
no one accepts the new guy, whoeverer he is
