Brick in the head to find out Damien had passed away, and his son Luke, too. This is sad news. RIP Damien & Luke. Bittersweet to hear "This Gift" Live on here...one of my favourite tracks from the band. May father and son brighten the cosmos, until we meet forever. The Snorgals are very happy to meet you!
Not the full performance. Rifles played at a multiple Libran birthday celebration in 1986 that included me. Wild, full on night that has vague memories. Remember personally meeting Damo though who was a really good natured, laid back then full on guy. Rifles were core musicians of the proliferation of raw, hard and fast music of Sydney, especially the northern beaches, for a very long time. No trendy punks - they went on stage as they were in the world and just played full on. Had fun. Legendary status of an fantastic era that has never been matched. RIP Damien. Great vibes that live on. Thanks mate.
RIP the great and mighty human that was Damien Lovelock. Chris Loffman said 9 mths ago Ed from the Saints has nicked the drummer, Cause Kent steedman would eat that Brisbane bloke for breakfast. Alan Strom says Paul Larsen has played Drums in quite a few bands that i go to see. He's a Drummer for hire, because he is one of the best. I've been going to see THE NEW CHRISTS for the last 37/38 years with all the line-up changes and one day I went to see them and blow me down Paul Larsen is their new Drummer. A few years ago, I went to see THE AINT'S and OMG, Paul Larsen is their Drummer. He's a natural for the genre of music. Mick Blood from THE LIME SPIDERS might poach Paul for a few gigs after COVID is over. Anyway Chris, I think Kent Steedman is Vegan so he won't be eating Ed Keupper anytime soon, though I've been told that Ed is quite tasty. LOL!!!!!!!!!
Such an amazing band - my all time favourite. RIP Damo.
R.I.P. Damien. Many great memories of some of the Greatest Gigs I've ever experienced. Sadly missed.
Glad that I got to see these guys once in San Francisco in the 90s.
