If he wants the song to be played on today's radio waves and have commercial success, he did just the right amount of guitar solo. I bet he adds another 16+ bars for the solo section when he performs this song in concert... BIG fan of this tune. John needs a "hit" on the radio... we all know he is a guitar god and amazing songwriter, but homie needs radio time!

I love the new Mayer song and adore the 80's Clapton "Journeyman" influence only done within his own style! great song on its own and reminds me of Clapton's "its in the way that you use it" or maybe "Bad Love" or "pretending" by Clapton, and how hes got synthesizer intermixed with great guitar tone. I think thats such a cool know to the past while still sounding very modern . I expected to like the new Mayer song and indeed i want disappointed .
