    Good video! I got much larger, deeper witness marks as a surprise when I installed a Delkron inner primary cover for earlier 5-speed FXRs (they'd gone out of business and stopped making the later ones based on the same casting) on a 1997 transmission. The witness groove showed me where to mill chain clearance, solving the problem. Repair machinists love witness marks too.

    Having a issue getting the clutch bolt off I’m turning in reverse direction but when I start putting some good pressure on it it sounds like something slipping on the opposite side like the belt is slipping. I’m not sure if the bike is in gear

    Make sure you clean or even replace the rotor as well, metal filings will stick to it and take out the charging system as well, been there, done that. Good video.

      Magnetic aluminum?

    • @lawnboyfromhell
      @lawnboyfromhell 3 года назад

      @@Peter-V_00 I don't know when the last time you checked was, but the alternator rotor is not aluminium and neither are the primary drive gears.

      @@lawnboyfromhell If that were true then that steel trash would be stuck all over the rotor.

      @@Peter-V_00 Wow, you are observant. That is exactly what happens! How long do you think your primary drive would last if all the rotating assembly was aluminum?
