Absolutely agree.
The sound of this organ is to die for! The performance is awesome too. Thanks from Andrew in Calgary, Canada
this is by far the best version I ever heard👍👏 Thank you Olivier Penin and crew.
Thank you very much !
Brings peace to a troubled world. Thank you.
Wow! Where to start? The microphone placement, the lighting, the litany of beautiful stops sampled, the virtuosity of performance, the camera angles, especially the drone angle from above at the end... all so wonderful, and one of Bach's most beautiful, pathos-filled works. I'm having trouble searching for the right words at this point.
Samuel Whitehead thank you so much!!!
Beautifully said.
And sometimes Olivier wears bright blue sneakers
@@michaelnoah7453 ....and maybe, 4 sleeve buttons on his jacket....😇
Olivier Penin looks like a professional football player. Then he begins to play and what sensitive and beautiful music he makes.
I was just thinking the same thing! He has a muscular yet delicate approach like a cross between a samurai and a surgeon. 🥰😄
I have heard this organ piece by Bach before but never with such energy and elegance.
Good job Olivier. This is a monumental work and you played from memory.
Bach, the true Master of the ability to express emotion and passion. I feel his life gave him challenges harder than most. However to my joy and comfort through my own trials. What a talented artist and composer. The greatest of all perhaps?
Chaconne is in my opinion the best classic ever! I am happy that the public does not know this...:-)
@@christianreimann4652 I agree absolutely. The perfect piece with something of everything. I am obsessed with this work.
@@johardy-bishop9105 me too! when I die, I want this music being played!!! is soooooo emotional, I love it and Olivier play it so deep, the version of Helene Grimoud is also fantastic...(piano)...
I first heard it played by Jonathan Scott on the organ (please listen - those trumpets! ‘God is great! ….. And so is Bach!’ My interpretation).
But my favourite violin rendition is by Liza Ferschtman.
That is the wonderful thing about Bach's music it is so versatile to re-interpret on other instruments. My very dear young friend Leonid Anikin, violinist has just posted the Chaconne on You tube- love your very restrained performance and your experimenting with stops. BRAVO.
Bravo Olivier! Beautifully played. Such a soothing piece during these difficult times. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless.
Merci 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Merci beaucoup!
One of the best Bach-pieces that i know...and played in a truly master-way!!!🥰😪 So beautifull performed!! Thank you!!🙏🤝
Interesting how this melody can flow on the organ vs on a violin. A wonderful, unique performance! Thank you- from Canada
beautiful and pure performance of the work, with the right sound accents and a good choice of registers!.. scarlet socks on the performer - 🔥too☝️🙂
Thank you so much !
So many wonderful organ transcriptions of the chaconne - this is one of my favourites, for the imaginative registration (great playing, too!!)
I love this so much - I listen again and again. Such superb artistry to display Bach's imagination!
This is such an amazing piece and I love how this version takes advantage of so many capabilities of the organ with different voices and registers. It's also interesting to hear the repeat of the initial chord progression, which is made clear by the way the organ here can play the chords clearly (where in the violin they can be rather obscure since the violin can't always play a three note chord & a melody at the same time)
Thank you Maestro Olivier - this is a super adaptation, & your playing (as always) is perfection
Magnífico!
Belíssima interpretação.
Obrigada por este momento.
Chapeau monsieur Penin. Totalement par coeur. Joue tres sublime.
The Master, interpreted and played by a Master !
Oh , my God! How wonderful it is....
I wish this were available on CD. Gentlemen, I love your collaboration. Superb! Thank you from USA!
Daryle Harris I would love so much!
Beautiful playing.
The sudden quiet passage starting at 7:30 is exquisite!
Excellent!
Magnifique !!! Félicitations !
I think they should take out more insurance. You tore off the ruff. Loved it. Thanks for sharing your heart... dear Olivier. Charles. USA,
What an amazing opening sound, and the rest of the piece
Tellement sublime cette interprétation !
WOW! One of the best I've heard on an organ. You are a Master in my eyes and ears!
Brandon Goecks thank you very much!!! It s very kind of you!
@@OlivierPeninorgue I was lucky to find you too. I stumbled upon sinfonia cantata 29 and have been hooked since! I like at the end of the recording you hear what I think is two people in Awww saying something which was my same thoughts. It's hard to imagine how good it must sound there. I would imagine you get chills hearing it. Thanks for the reply you're amazing.Lets hear some Handel 😁
The Muse has breathed upon dear one. The proof is in the ear. Thank you for sharing your heart.
Incredible and transcendent!
Magistral !
Bravo Olivier! Masterful!
Piano music of Janie Becker merci beaucoup!

So beautiful!THANK YOU!
Bravo!
Martin AshwoodSmith merci!
This is just… I lack for words. This music is so dark, gloomy and solemn, but yet somehow reinforcing and comforting. And who am I to argue with the genius Maestro Bach himself, - sorry, Maestro! - but in my opinion the organ is the best instrument for this chaconne. I heard many transcriptions as it's one of my favorites by Bach, but on the organ it's something multidimensional.
👍Bravíssimo ! 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋
Bravo !!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Tellement incroyable!
Brillant !
First time ever hearing this piece, and it really hit me in the feelz. Thankyou so much for your masterful performance!
@Geoff G you think I should have gotten used to the orchestral performance first? I know what you mean
In memory of Maria Barbara Bach .... J.S. Bach's "tombeau" for his second wife upon her death. The most magnificent sound in the History of Music !
Thank you. from Bucharest.
Thank you!
This is masterful!
Besides the mastery and the brilliance, I like very much the fluency and the rythm of this performance. Violinists tend to fermata too many notes and I often lose the Bach's rythm listening their performances. But this one is smooth like a song. At least the 1-st half.
quelle transcription ! Merci beaucoup...
Lovely piece played beautifully. Thank you for sharing.
Janet Lindley thank you!
Outstanding!
Simplement fantastique
A most impressive and revelatory performance of this remarkable transcription for organ, which brings out so well the musical architecture and sublimity of this great work, as it gradually unfolds. Thank you so much !
william morris thank you very much! It was a wonderful challenge to make an organ vision of this masterpiece! We are very happy that you like it!
merci Monsieur Hildebrand
Merci beaucoup!
Quelle aventure fabuleuse... 😜🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Génial, Olivier. Merci beaucoup!
Jan Smit sr. Thank you very much Jan!
I really want to hear this organ live with you playing! And maybe and hour playing myself...the sound of this organ and the acoustics I bet is amazing!
Stupenda interpretazione. Eccellentissima!

B R A V O !!!
Beautiful well played ! Also. Ian Tracy Liverpool Cathedral an excellent rendition of this piece
Magnifico. Grazie :)
davide,samuele schiavone grazie mille!
Grazie ancora.
grazie mille!
A special thanks to mister Hildebrandt!
fantastique
A romantic transcription played in a very romantic style. Very decadent and Bach would probably turn in his grave, but I love it. The registration in the quieter passages shows off the solo stops very well. A fine performance on a very fine instrument.
I don't think he'd turn in his grave. He'd appreciate the fact his music has more facets than even he imagined
@@rayancharafeddine4982 I think the same. Bach is so wonderful that can be played even in "romantic style". Greatings from Brazil.
Bach himself was master of transcriptions
