I grew up with the music of Elton John & had a lot of his records. He was really big in the 70's-80's. He collaborated with Bernie Taupin since 1967 on more than 30 albums. They were one of the best song writing teams. Bernie wrote the lyrics & Elton supplied the melody. They had so many great hits together such as "Levon", "Tiny Dancer", "Rocket Man", "Honky Cat," "Bennie & The Jets", "Daniel", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Candle In The Wind", "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting", "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" etc.
That was really amazing, never really got much into Elton John’s music, listening to this gave us a good vibe, we’ll be checking out more. Thanks for watching and leaving this comment 👍🏽
...and the band. Nigel Olsson on drums/vocals, Dee Murray on bass/vocals, and Davey Johnstone on guitars/vocals. Their style is amazing, along with their technical ability, and they worked fast. In the recording studio they would create about four songs a day. During the writing/recording process they came up with their own 'parts' for the songs, with little to no input from Elton. They wrote and performed their backing vocals themselves. It's how Elton could put out two records and three world tours a year, and they don't get enough credit.
Elton John has had hits in every decade since the 1970's! His last hit was just a few months ago. It was a duet with Britney Spears called Hold Me Closer. Try his song called Honky Cat.
It’s even better when he performs it live
Oh really, okay we’ll check out his live performance. Thanks for watching 👍🏽
Carrying on Dagmar comments, he mentioned his big 1970s but he continued to make hits right up to today. Also there are his deeper album tracks many of which are as good as the hits or even better.
