I don't know why they arent constructing RRTS. One can tell ashwini hasn't travelled via mumbai rail. thats why she is telling us that she will think of it when after all metro lines are constructed. most of the railway lines are late due to very few platforms, rrts can solve this.

Mumbai already has one form of RRTs...local railways..fast trains connecting far of settlements to the main city and that has already taken up alot of land...theres no land here like delhi...plus the problem is that Mumbai's population is spread evenly along different lines where population concentrated in areas every few kms ..so you need much more stops to cater to majority of the population which will slow down RRTS...Metro is a good start...taking Mumbai's expansion east wards towards Raigad via MTHL is the best decision!

@@herambpatkar okay makes sense. but there is so much crowd in the existing trains and every compartment is jam packed. Want to know what you think is the solution for that? They even canceled 238 coaches order for mumbai suburban rail line

@@theybecameus Completely agree...trains are overcrowded and overburdened...Mumbai's situation and density is so complicated that I dont think there's a single solution for this problem...we need a series for different measures like you mentioned, more coaches and better management of railways, a new form of transportation like the metro which can share the load, decentralizing the business districts...giving incentives to businesses and offices for moving into the suburbs, unlocking new areas for the population to spread like NAINA, Panvel etc...we need to create self sustaining mini-cities with good schools, degree colleges, hospitals, parks, entertainment zones and offices...just take 2 examples...1. Dombivli-Kalyan-Ulhasnagar ..population is large and diverse enough for companies to build offices there and get good resources so that they dont need to travel to Mumbai for work....same with Navi-Mumbai...Kharghar-Komote-Panvel belt.....Vasai-Virar-Bhayandar too.
