Nice interview, tough questioning! We need more walkability for sure. Wider footpaths, no hawkers, and we also need to remove those random piles of construction rubble that seem to be everywhere
Also politicians put too many unnecessary posters and hoardings on street. It just destroys the look of the city, that needs to stopped. But who will convince these illiterate goons of these policians.
Yup footpaths, proper zebra crossing at signals without hawkers, garbage and encroachment of course. Public transport + these changes would single handedly enhance the experience of common people.
When we have Executives like Ashwini Bhide, then we are sure that such big ticket projects will see the light of the day, kudos to such dedicated officers and the Government ensuring completion of such projects which are making the life of common man convenient and comfortable

Ms Ashwini Bhide IAS should be earmarked as a future Director of LBSNAA. Her clarity of thought, articulation of ideas and directness in talk would do our future IAS officers a world of good.
🎉🎉🎉Salute to Ashwini Madam. She has Marvellous Dedication , Passion , competency, Honesty for Nation Development. She deserve to be the future Union Infrastructure development Minister of India .🎉🎉🎉
Ashwini Bhide is more to Mumbai than Sreedharan is to Delhi. If Sreedharan can be called Metro Man of India , then Ashwini Bhide should be called Mumbai saviour. To get through something so complex with so many issues and obstructions and deliver is just unparalleled.
Ashwini is brilliant , If Shivsena would not have disturbed metro work , She would have completed most of the work . How did Uddhav made such a mistake of firing her ?
Good questions posed by the interviewer. Many interviews that I have watched involving Ashwini Bhide seemed to have lacked depth and good questions, not this one 🙌
What about Navi Mumbai connectivity to Mumbai Metro rail. There is no connectivity . People in Navi Mumbai usually have to go by one rail line and a creek bridge line which gets congested all times. People who want to trave from Navi Mumbai to Western railway or Andheri have to go through several hops before they reach their destinations.
There is Another Next Metro 🚇 Line Coming From NaviMumbai international Airport LTD upto OLD Mumbai international Airport LTD, 🛫 🛬 That SHall Be The Ultimate Best Metro Line!,
The London Underground, also known as the Tube, is the world's first underground railway system opened on January 10, 1863. So, we are 161 years behind. Well, better late than never. The million dollar question is, due to lack of Basic Civic Sense, will this system be in one piece, going into the future?
It's now 6 years since they started work on the Thane line and it will take another 3 years for the entire stretch to be operational. Infact they had no plan at all around the kapurbvadi/ ghodbunder area and they dug up the sevice roads two years back and it's still only pillars. And this lady says "I don't have complete details". Ridiculous!!
Metro Line was conceived as early as in 1940's when the British ruled India. They made feasibility studies,. As per the technologies available in 1940's the Britishers came to the conclusion that the Metro Line in Mumbai was not possible due to the pressure of sea water which is on the eastern side as well as on the western side. Again in early 1980's a new feasibility studies were made under the then leadership of Municipal Commissioner Mr. Tinaikar. They also came to the same conclusion as that of the Britishers and hence the Metro Project was dropped. Again the same was revived in 2004. In case the earlier feasibility studies are true, there could be a lurking danger that the sea water may seep into the tunnel built for Metro. In case this happens., this could be a big catastrophe. All work is done in a haphazard manner since last ten years. Let's hope everything turns out to be good and better.
The Kolkata Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Kolkata and the Kolkata Metropolitan Region in West Bengal, India. Opened in 1984, it was the first operational rapid transit system in India. Besides, it's also the second busiest and fourth-longest metro network in the country. I wonder what were the super intellectuals of Mumbai were doing for last 40 years / 😂 / all the best mumbaj.
Why super intellectuals? Please ask the clarification to all the native Mumbaikars who migrated to Kolkata in the last 40 years, to ride the Kolkata metro.
Rahul Gandhi and Kejariwal will make everything free for everyone and distribute free money. That will be interesting to see. BJP will have to compete and give freebies too. Freebie race and socialistic race to the bottom is yet to come in full swing.
I'm sorry but you have asked very easy questions. Ashwini bhide has been claiming 97% work complete on phase 1 of line 3 since November last year. One can check previous interviews as reference. Why did you not ask her about the station entry and exit points not being completed until recently? If the testing was taking time why did not one take account of completion of something so basic till the last minute. Opening got delayed by almost two months because of this issue. It'll be naive to believe that this wasn't delayed keeping elections in mind. On another note she has been saying 6 months after phase 1 opening we will commision phase 2. What is the logic behind this? If phase one is so remarkably delayed can't you ensure work on phase 2 gets done simultaneously in the same time. The bar of journalism has been set so low in this day and age. It is disgusting.
@@Arazorblade Nope! The first phase of this project has been 97% complete since November 23 according to Ashwini Bhide herself. Proper rainfall in Mumbai started in end June/start of July this year. If at the end of the project rains are miraculously affecting the finishing touches and trial runs then the project shouldn't have opened right. It would have still been unsafe to start. Rains can definitely come into play for heavy construction activities but not right at the end of the project. It really shouldn't matter. Cause otherwise the heavy rains are gonna be there every year. Will the metro line be shut for 4 months? No! It's a ridiculous excuse.
@@utamesh didn’t she mention that Quality check took time ? If you have been into any construction industry, you will know that during quality checks various kinds of issues can come up and resolving them can take time including suggestions for safety and automation. Completion % of project is independent of quality issues. She also mentioned that , to not delay things further, lot of things they are doing manually right now instead of automating it otherwise it could have delayed things even further. but your conclusion that it was delayed just to time it before MH election is ridiculous as well. In fact I think they did it early instead of delaying it further to get benefit in MH elections not the vice Versa which you are mentioning.

Ashwini Bhide is a very sincere and hard-working IAS officer. Kudos to her. Best wishes to her for future projects.

What those hawkers are selling needs to be shifted to E-COMMERCE.

2 intelligent people. Great to watch.
Make it 3 with Mr Nitin Gadkari.
Salute to " Nari Shakti" .
My request to Ashwini g to publish book giving full information about her experience in executing such a huge and complcated project.

Foot paths may be difficulty in Mumbai, the best solution is FOB, ie Foot over bridges, and they should be kept free from Hawkers 😊
For last mile connectivity metro must promote motorcycle taxi with online booking.
please publish gtfs schedule data openly of these transport systems

Why keep announcing dates if things are getting delayed? Supply and demand opening date that is realistic.

are there footbridges / pedestrian signals for commuters to cross traffic to reach the metro stations?
